"So, Sister Feng, why did you arrange this wilderness survival training?" Heath sat on the grass with a barbecue grill in front of him. He had just grilled meat for these enthusiastic Officer Jennys, and he had to admit it was a major undertaking. Fortunately, his food truck had every kind of ingredient; otherwise, he had no idea whether he could have managed to feed all these Officer Jennys. There was good news, though: through this outdoor barbecue gathering, he had gotten to know some of Vermilion City's Officer Jennys.
What Heath could not understand was why Sister Feng had sent Officer Jenny Aya out for wilderness survival training. Vermilion City was, after all, an international metropolis in the Kanto Region, covering an enormous area, so the Officer Jennys generally did not need to work out in the wilderness. It was not like Viridian City. Things were quiet there, so most of the calls the Officer Jennys received were requests for help after someone was attacked by Pokémon in the wild, or after someone's child grew overconfident and decided to head out alone to find Pokémon, and so on.
At times like those, the Officer Jennys had to head into the forests to provide support, so wilderness survival training was very necessary in Viridian City. But this was Vermilion City. Heath also vaguely remembered that Vermilion City had a dedicated Forest Officer Jenny Department that specifically handled all sorts of incidents in the wilderness. After all, Vermilion City was enormous and prosperous, which meant its Officer Jennys were divided into two groups. One maintained public
