The Three-Star Skill Scroll had two effects.

One was to grant a random Three-Star Skill, while the other was to raise a skill that had yet to reach Three-Star to Three-Star.

In theory, the former should have offered better value, since it granted an entirely new skill. Yet in their previous uses, the Three Little Ones had all used it as an item for upgrading skills to Three-Star.

The reason was simple.

A randomly generated Three-Star Skill introduced tremendous uncertainty.

After repeated point allocations, skill fusions, and upgrades, the Three Little Ones had realized that having more skills was not necessarily better.

Fusing non-Innate Skills into Innate Skills that could not yet be fused, wherever possible, reduced their total number of skills and helped concentrate their resources on those skills.

During fusion, the non-Innate Skills did not disappear entirely, either. Their effects merged into the Innate Skills, becoming part of them.

That was the optimal way to improve.

As such, obtaining a skill through a Three-Star Skill Scroll that could neither be used for fusion nor put to use would be quite a headache for the Three Little Ones.

But now, Starlight's choice had shown Purple Cloud and Can Can an entirely new approach.

They could redeem a Two-Star Skill and upgrade it to Three-Star.

That would cost only fourteen hundred Value Points in total, saving six hundred, while allowing them to obtain a relatively predictable Three-Star Skill from a specific Two-Star Skill.

Although redeeming a One-Star Skill would save even more, the uncertainty involved in upgrading from One-Star to Three-Star
