"I never expected the very bottom of the Silent Abyss to look like this."
Back on solid ground with the Five Little Ones, Xu Ran looked at the debris beneath his feet, all glimmering with faint starlight, his expression tinged with wonder and surprise.
He had assumed that, with black mist shrouding everything above, the depths of the Silent Abyss would be even worse. Instead, the mist thinned as they approached the bottom, and the farther down they went, the more normal things became.
The conditions here bore some resemblance to Falling Star Valley, except that the stardust had not splattered across the rock walls on either side of the abyss. Instead, it covered the ground below in a fine, dense carpet.
The tiny glimmers gathered together, giving Xu Ran the marvelous feeling of walking down an avenue of starlight.
Starlight was just as excited.
Without the black mist obscuring its senses, it could clearly feel the rich star power here. Remembering that a Star-Guarding Stone had once formed in this place, it suddenly felt that their chances of gaining something from this trip had risen considerably.
"The bottom of the Silent Abyss covers a huge area." Xu Ran turned to survey their surroundings and spoke softly. "We'll probably have to search for a while."
Unlike the narrow opening, which measured little more than a hundred meters across at most, the bottom of the Silent Abyss was over a thousand meters wide and stretched for dozens of kilometers. Finding traces of the Star-Guarding Stone across such a vast area would not be easy.
Moreover, the previous Star-Guarding Stone had already been taken away. Whether the exact spot where it had formed was still preserved remained unknown.
"Cha~" (If only we could catch someone who lived here and ask.)
