After getting Gu Sheng's tip, Officer Wei took his men to Sai Wan.

While they were searching for the robbers, a sudden series of gunshots erupted inside an apartment building.

For some reason, the robbers had started fighting among themselves.

Officer Wei and his men caught most of the robbers on the spot. Only two escaped.

The stolen cash was recovered too.

Although his superiors had yet to say anything, Officer Wei was guaranteed credit for this-and major credit at that. He was in an excellent mood.

But as soon as he returned to the station, he heard that Gu Sheng had led his men into Tin Shui Wai.

He blew up on the spot.

The fact that Gu Sheng hadn't returned his calls all night only enraged him further. He drank cup after cup of coffee.

The moment the call finally connected, he roared:

"Gu Sheng, what the hell are you playing at?"

Sheng had been demoted back to Gu Sheng again.

"Sir, why so angry?" Gu Sheng drawled.

"What do you think? Have you forgotten who you are?"

"Did you catch the robbers?" Gu Sheng suddenly asked.

Officer Wei fell silent for a moment, then spoke again. "Credit is credit. Wrongdoing is wrongdoing."

"I recorded that for you. I just don't know how you're planning to do it. I know a film company with some real resources. I've even watched them shoot on location." Gu Sheng suddenly chuckled.

"Don't give me that, Gu Sheng. Just answer me: are you a cop or a gangster?"

"Let's talk in person. I'll wait at the usual place." Gu Sheng hung up without another word.

A little later, Gu Sheng arrived at their usual rooftop. He had smoked two cigarettes by the time Officer Wei appeared.

"Gu Sheng, what the hell are you doing?" Officer Wei's face was livid.

"You're a cop, not a gangster! Do you not want to come back?" Officer Wei growled, his last question accusatory.

"I'm the undercover cop you sent out. I risk my life to solve cases for you, and you doubt me?" Gu Sheng narrowed his eyes, a pointed meaning lurking in his gaze.

I risk my life to get you promoted, don't even get paid, and you still doubt me?

It's windy up here. Watch your footing!

Officer Wei took a deep breath and softened his tone a little. "I want you to come back safely. But if you keep this up, I'm afraid the Amnesty Directive won't be able to protect you. If you end up in prison, you're dead!"

"Sir, I'm doing all this to solve cases!" Gu Sheng threw an arm around Officer Wei.

"I found Hung Lok's warehouse."

"Where?" Officer Wei caught on quickly.

"Over ten million's worth! Is that enough credit for you?"

"I found the evidence for you!"

"So if I help you, you have to help me too, right?"

"Don't get suspicious and start doubting me over every little thing, all right? How am I supposed to keep doing this otherwise? Why don't you find someone else?"

After a moment of silence, Officer Wei said, "I can do my best to help you, but you can't go too far."

"Don't worry, I understand. You know me, Officer Wei. Everything I do is for the mission. But sometimes unexpected things happen, and there's nothing I can do about it, right? So you help me and I help you. That's how it should be!" Gu Sheng said, satisfied.

Officer Wei said nothing and simply lit a cigarette.

"Oh, right. This is for you. Hung Lok's ledger. Add that shipment and the robbers... with this much credit, let me congratulate you on your promotion in advance, Officer Wei." Gu Sheng took out a ledger and slapped it against Officer Wei's chest.

"I'm going home to sleep." Gu Sheng turned and left.

He believed Officer Wei understood what he meant. Things were only good for everyone when they were good for both of them!

Undercover work is dangerous and hard enough. How am I supposed to do it if you keep coming after me over every little thing?

Officer Wei watched Gu Sheng leave, took a deep drag, and exhaled a cloud of smoke.

He understood that Gu Sheng was no longer under his control.

The terms of their cooperation had changed.

After a long while, Officer Wei left with the ledger. He immediately gathered the officers in his team and headed to the location Gu Sheng had given him.

They smashed the door open and found a room in disarray, broken bottles, and bloodstains on the floor.

The others thought the people inside might already have fled. But when they entered the small room, they immediately spotted two cases on the floor, one of them still open.

"Officer Wei, it's No. 4 Drug," one of them said, looking up after checking.

"There's so much of it-thirty kilos!" Every officer at the scene was delighted.

"Officer Wei, where did you get this tip? It was spot-on!" someone asked with a broad grin. Everyone who had come along would get credit for this.

The earlier armored-car robbery tip had been right on the money too.

"That's why I'm your commanding officer. Log everything and take it back to the station. Breakfast is on me." Officer Wei was in a wonderful mood.

When GS had been ambushed by Knife Hand, quite a few people had gloated after hearing about it.

Who would have thought that GS would quietly wipe out Hung Lok and seize Tin Shui Wai?

Everyone who heard the news felt as though they were dreaming.

Even if Hung Lok's men had been a thousand pigs, surely they couldn't have lost just like that?

"You're kidding. That bastard's that tough? Where did he get the men and money?" Chui Gai was startled by the news. After repeatedly confirming it was true, he asked in bewilderment.

"It's all over the streets. LS took down Hung Lok with three hundred men. Every foot soldier got three thousand dollars, double if they were injured, and the death benefits were doubled too. He paid it all out that very night."

"Fuck!" Chui Gai's gaze turned dangerous as he looked at his underling.

What's that supposed to mean? You think I don't usually pay you enough?

"And Big-Eyed Hua has his men spreading the word. Lots of people have heard about it now," the underling continued.

"Where do you think that bastard got the money?" Chui Gai grew even more puzzled.

"Some people say LS took all the money in Hung Lok's accounts, along with a shipment," the underling said.

Chui Gai thought it over for a moment, then had his underling find GS's phone number and called him.

As soon as the call connected, Chui Gai said heartily, "LS, when are you free to have tea?"

"If you need anything, just come to me. We're brothers in the same organization. Who else would I help?"

"All right, we'll talk later."

Chui Gai hung up, then kicked over the table in front of him and cursed:

"That bastard thinks he's hot shit now!"

After he hung up on Chui Gai, Big B called too.

GS exchanged a few words with him before refusing outright.

"Brother B, I can handle things here myself, so I won't trouble you. Let's have tea sometime." GS casually hung up.

"Tch. Now they all want to come out and grab a slice? They can fucking dream! Do they think I'm running a charity?"

Big B had over a thousand men under him, including those under Chui Gai, Four-Eyed Kid, and Chan Ho-nam.

Once he recruited more men, his numbers wouldn't be much lower than Big B's.

If Big B hadn't held the position of boss, he wouldn't even have bothered with him.

GS lit a cigarette and dragged over the travel bag on the floor.

He had taken over five million in cash last night and handed out less than two million, leaving over three million.

He wanted to see what he could get from the second-stage Wheel.

He loaded two million straight into it, and the travel bag immediately became considerably emptier.

GS thought for a moment, then sat back on the sofa with a cigarette between his lips.

Then he pressed draw, and the ten question marks on the Wheel flipped over at once.
