The two mercenaries stood dumbfounded.
As Jimmy's bodyguards, they had of course watched those XBDs in their free time.
They were thrilling, truly thrilling, and these were the original recordings, too.
They had seen examples of Braindance being used to manipulate memories and interfere with personalities. There was no doubt that Jimmy had just adjusted the equipment with exactly that in mind.
But this guy from Night City was different. He was completely unaffected.

The ease with which he did it made the two men realize he was no ordinary operator.
As he worked with Little Octopus to put everything into the carry case, Lier asked:
"First question: names?"
The woman, the Russian woman, quickly replied, "You can call me Phantom. This is Iron Hand."
A series of windows appeared on Lier's HUD. During that time, Little Octopus had already completed the topic scan and data capture.

She was a hacker. Most of her cyberware was designed around developing her brain, and all four memory expansions were fitted with wet-drive access links.
Memory expansion was an enhanced device for releasing more of the brain's memory. It was attached directly to the brain to better integrate biological computing power into cyber warfare.
A wet-drive access link was a more powerful memory-reading device. It meant the user no longer needed to rely on external interface cables, linking directly to the memory through the mind. This made the human brain more like a wetware computer and increased computing speed.
When necessary, it could urgently run the Bragg-Ihara
