Vareesa hurried into Sunfury Tower. By the time she reached Alleria's side, Alleria was enjoying lunch.
"Sorry to disturb you, Sister, but this news is sure to make you happy."
Before the Ranger-General could say it, the regent wiped her mouth and asked, "The Alliance agreed to cooperate?"
"Yes." Seeing the excited smile on Alleria's face, Vareesa smiled as well. "Varian agreed in person. He sent Jaina to negotiate with us."
"I'm grateful to the lady of Theramore. The Horde nearly destroyed her city, yet she is still willing to negotiate with us." Alleria hastily ended her break and draped the cloak hanging on the rack over herself. "Notify Liadrin. We leave at once. We can't wait any longer."
"Isn't this a little too rushed? Perhaps it would be better to leave tonight." Seeing the cheese and bread still on the table, Vareesa worried that Alleria had not eaten enough.
"No, the sooner this is done, the better." The regent took Sathoryl in hand. The long-missed feeling lifted her spirits. "Also, we must not forget that this operation is meant to deal with the Thunder King, but we know little about them. Contact Sylvanas immediately. Have her send someone reliable to get in touch with the Order of the Cloud Serpent and gather information about that Mogu emperor, then rendezvous with me on the Isle of Thunder."
Vareesa nodded. "I'll handle it right away."
Just as she was about to leave, Alleria thought for a moment and called her back.
"Wait."
The Ranger-General turned around.
"To be safe, before Jaina and I meet, we should each send a representative to make contact first. They can openly discuss the operational arrangements, so there won't be any conflicts later."
"Understood, Regent."
