I die, or others perish.

Alleria woke. Her breathing echoed through the silent room. She found her cheeks wet with tears once more.

Regret followed her like a shadow, like a dagger driven deep into her heart. This pain grew with each passing day, and she might carry it forever, repenting for her mistakes without complaint like an ascetic.

Nathanos felt as though he were beside her, perhaps about to appear before her the next second.

"Regent?"

Whenever someone addressed her that way, she was reminded of her responsibilities.

"Come in."

Countess Liadrin entered the tent where she was resting. They were currently in Thunder Bluff—the temporary base of the Horde rebels.

"The meeting begins in an hour. Would you like something to eat?"

"I have no appetite." Alleria shook her head, rose from the makeshift bed, and stood by the window overlooking Mulgore. Dawn was still two or three hours away, and cold surrounded her.

"How are our forces?" she asked, draping her cloak over herself and running her fingers through her hair.

"Grommash has not discovered them yet."

That was enough. Alleria nodded. The Sin'dorei would attack from the sea alongside the Alliance fleet.

Inside a conical tent on Spirit Rise, Vol'jin was speaking with Baine. When Alleria arrived, they seemed to be arguing incessantly over how to breach Orgrimmar's gates.

The Tauren chieftain believed they should draw upon the power of the elements, but Vol'jin told him that Garrosh's Dark Shamans had already twisted Durotar's elements.

Baine was still considering how to respond when he caught sight of Alleria waiting outside.

"Please, bring the Regent in." Baine's deep voice conveyed a warm welcome.

The moment Alleria stepped into the tent, she felt the warmth radiating from the fire. She nodded to the other two Horde leaders.
