Liu Youshui made his fortune in the underworld before moving into legitimate business in recent years. He retained considerable influence in Ba City and connections throughout the Southwest Region. Luo Yang later concluded that Liu had never truly severed his criminal ties 7 8 10 45.

Jiang Yue is the daughter of a man Liu described as a brother from Myanmar. Her father died when she was eight, and Liu became her godfather. He admitted that he had found her difficult to discipline 13.

Before meeting Luo Yang, Liu had gone three years without sensation in his legs. Previous medical consultations had failed to free him from his wheelchair, leading him to seek the “miracle doctor” recommended by Ye Zi 8 9.

He alternates intimidation with friendliness, gifts, and flattering offers. He invokes the law while using incriminating evidence as leverage, and insists that he is a legitimate businessman while proposing Ye Zi’s disappearance. When his attempt to compromise Luo Yang fails, he quickly changes tactics and offers a villa as an apology 9 10 13 49.

His affection for Jiang Yue is more openly expressed: after regaining voluntary movement in his leg, the two embrace in celebration 13.

Failed Trap and Recruitment

• At the villa, Luo Yang exposes the encounter with the underage girls and threatens to abandon Liu’s treatment. Liu offers the property as an apology and hands over the video of Song Dongming 13.
• Liu later intervenes by phone when Luo Yang encounters underworld-connected men at Buxiangju Restaurant 20.

• He offers to arrange Ye Zi’s disappearance in Qingdi’s desert or Gobi in exchange for fifteen percent of the company’s original shares. The Song father and son accept, and Liu also promises to deliver Luo Yang to Song Dongming 49.
• Luo Yang overhears the agreement and travels to Qingdi after failing to reach Ye Zi. At that point, he cannot confirm whether Liu has already acted on the plot 49 50.
