Suffering
Unable to understand, Lumian didn't think much of it, rolled up his sleeves, revealed his right arm, and scribbled something on it with "Fallen Mercury".
After a brief period of numbness came the pain he had tasted many times before, but he didn't frown as he watched the drops of blood seep out, staining the silver-black tip of the knife red.
Almost simultaneously, Lumian saw before his eyes the illusory Mercury-Colored Illusory Long River composed of countless complex symbols, while the Drops of Destiny stored within the Evil Dagger seeped from its tip and flowed into the shallow wound.
Lumian focused his mind, trying his best to discern the Destiny he wanted to exchange.
He "saw" himself receiving treatment, "saw" himself Slumber after venting his emotions, and "saw" himself about to go to find Aosta Roul...
These scenes flashed through Lumian's mind, as if he had actually witnessed them with his own eyes.
Not long after, in the Destiny of his recent life, he found himself walking outside the Catacombs and encountering the Montsouris Ghosts.
He quickly picked up the tip of the "Fallen Mercury" blade and stabbed it into the complex symbols that seemed to be formed by the self- Entanglement of small rivers of Mercury-Colored.
That period of Destiny was quite heavy, and Lumian was unable to change it on his first attempt.
As the Illusory Long River gradually faded away and the images in his mind became increasingly blurry, he quickly poured most of his spiritual energy into the blade of "Fallen Mercury".
Finally, with his second pry, the Destiny of "encountering the Montsouris Ghosts" broke free from the Illusory Long River of Mercury-Colored and shrank into tiny droplets, like mercury beads after a thermometer has shattered.
The illusory droplet of Water Droplet quickly merged into the silver-black Dagger.
Only then did Lumian truly breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that he had rid himself of the Montsouris Ghosts, and that "Fallen Mercury" could now be called "The Cursed Blade" again.
He had just finished treating his wounds when he suddenly had a strange intuition.
Following this intuition, Lumian once again left the Golden Rooster Inn, passing between the drunkards who were sometimes shouting and sometimes crying, and the two groups of people who were fighting fiercely, and returned to Nightingale Street, stopping outside the alley where Margot had fought.
He frowned, cautiously went inside, and climbed over the Barricades.
The next second, Lumian's gaze naturally fell on the shadowy corner of the wall.
Something lay quietly in that place ruled by darkness.
Having realized what was happening, Lumian quickly went Past, squatted down, and picked up the item with his Gloves left hand.
It was a bulging brown leather wallet.
"Margot dropped it? The money his men Subordinate and handed over to him?" Lumian roughly understood how the exchanged Destiny had come about.
Although he didn't remember whether Margot had dropped his wallet during their fierce fight, whether it was dropped at the time or "replaced" later wouldn't affect Lumian's ability to get the money.
He pulled out the thick stack of Banknotes, emptied the Copper Coin from his coin purse, then threw down his wallet and left the alley.
Back in Room 207 the "Golden Rooster Inn," Lumian lit the Carbide Lamp and carefully counted his Spoils of War.
He acquired a total of 1265 Felkine and 15 Kopek, mostly 10 Felkine Felkine and less, with only one 200 Felkine note, one 100 Felkine, and two 50 Felkine Banknotes, as well as a few Gold Louis.
After gazing at the money for a few seconds, Lumian sighed sincerely, "Receiving donations from 'kind people' ten times is not as valuable as killing a Gang leader..."
Of course, not all of this money belonged to Margot; he only controlled it on behalf of the Stinger Gang.
Lumian then pulled out a stack of small Banknotes worth a total of 200 Felkine, took them and left Room 207, going up the stairs one floor at a time.
In less than a minute, he arrived on the 4th floor and stood in front of room number 8.
He remembered that Margot went to the "Golden Rooster Inn" in the evening to take most of the money earned by an illegal prostitute named Yisansi.
At the time, it was probably one of Margot's Subordinate who was in charge, but afterwards, the money must have ended up in Margot's hands as well.
Lumian didn't knock. Instead, he bent down and slipped the stack of Banknotes through the crack in the door, piece by piece.
He quickly straightened his back, turned and walked towards the stairs, disappearing into the dark corridor.
Lumian slept until six o'clock, when he heard the Church bells ringing.
He slept very soundly last night, and even felt as if he had digested a little bit of the "Provocateur" Potion. (https://m. hetushu. com. com)
"I'll go see Aosta Roul this morning to see if Mr. K has replied, and while I'm at it, I'll buy some nice clothes and Cosmetics in the Observatory District... In the afternoon, I'll check out the cheap clothing stores in Honest Man's Market..." Lumian didn't rush to get up, lying there quietly, thinking about today's plans.
Having escaped the threat of the Montsouris Ghosts, he will put his disguise back on the agenda.
After lingering in bed for a while, he slowly went out, cleaned himself up in the Washroom, then went downstairs and bought half a liter of Apple Cider and a Bread with pork sausage from the vendors.
After filling his stomach, he went to the nearest Church Square, found a secluded corner, and began practicing the fighting techniques that Aurora had taught him.
Lumian didn't return to the "Golden Rooster Inn" until 9:30 a. m., intending to rest for an hour before going to see Aosta Roul.
As soon as he entered the hotel lobby, he saw three cleaning Maid cleaning various dirty areas under Fels. Fells's direction.
The Boss hires someone to clean Monday... Lumian looked away and walked towards the stairwell.
Just then, the sound of footsteps came from upstairs.
In less than ten seconds, Charlie, dressed in Linen Shirt, Dark Trousers, and strapless leather shoes, appeared in Lumian's sight.
"You didn't go to the Hotel?" Lumian asked, slightly puzzled.
Charlie yawned and said with a slightly excited tone, "Didn't you know? I'm off today."
"We can take one day off each week, and we can choose which day it is."
Lumian laughed:
Will this day off result in Mrs. Alice reducing your 'monthly salary'?
Charlie smiled somewhat awkwardly.
She also has her own social engagements.
As the two chatted, a foul odor wafted in through the doorway, and the short, ragged, gray-haired Roul and Michel entered the hotel.
"You didn't go to the Steam Train Station?" Charlie greeted him warmly.
Roul first approached them, then then, somewhat reservedly, maintained a distance.
"The Market District is a bit chaotic today, so we're planning to take a break."
"What's wrong?" Lumian asked, feigning curiosity.
Roul unconsciously lowered his voice:
"Margot of the Stinger Gang is dead. Many Gang members are looking for him, and clashes with other gangs could break out at any time. A lot of Police have also arrived."
"Margot is dead?" Charlie blurted out in shock.
He thought this guy deserved to die yesterday, and he's dead today?
Roul nodded solemnly:
I've heard several people say that.
"Ugh, I can't go out to earn money today."
His wife, Mrs. Michel, comforted him:
"If we don't go out, we don't have to eat lunch, which saves some money."
Before Lumian could ask about the situation outside, Charlie, having regained his senses, turned around abruptly and ran upstairs.
Lumian's Eyes flickered slightly, and she followed.
Charlie quickly climbed to the Fourth Floor and ran to room number 8.
He took a breath and began banging on the Wooden Door.
"Who is it?" a slightly hoarse Women voice came from inside.
Charlie announced his name aloud.
"Didn't I say I was off this morning? Come back this afternoon. Remember, it's 10 Felkine, no discount this time!" The Women's voice replied impatiently as she opened the door.
When Lumian first saw this Women named Yisansi, her long Linen-Colored hair fell casually over her shoulders, her Eyes, which were the same color as hers, held a hint of wariness, and a trace of nervousness remained on her face.
She looked to be around twenty-three or twenty-four years old. Her appearance was not outstanding; she could only be described as pretty. However, her face and clothes were very clean, and her long red Long Dress revealed a large expanse of fair skin on her chest.
Charlie excitedly told Yisansi, "You know what? Margot is dead!"
He's really dead!
"..." Yisansi was stunned for a moment.
A few seconds later, her slightly hoarse voice turned shrill:
"Is that Demon really dead?"
"Really." Charlie nodded without hesitation, "You can finally get rid of that Demon! You can finally live like a normal person!"
Yisansi stared blankly around, seeing only Lumian's emotionless eyes and Charlie's excited expression.
"Dead, he's dead?" Yisansi kept muttering to herself, thinking of the money that had mysteriously appeared in her room.
She began to believe that Margot was really dead, and her vision blurred rapidly.
Tears streamed down her face, and she couldn't help but squat down, burying her face in her arms.
Sobbing then began, growing louder and more unrestrained.
Just then, footsteps sounded at the top of the stairs.
Lumian turned his head and saw a young man wearing a white shirt and a black jacket walking up.
Behind him were three of Margot's former Thug.
The young man, with slightly curly brown hair and a fleshy face, walked up to the weeping Yisansi, bent down, and said with a smile, "I am Wilson of the Stinger Gang. From today onwards, I will take care of you in place of Margot."
Charlie's excited expression froze on his face.
Yisansi's crying stopped abruptly.
She slowly raised her tear-streaked face and saw Wilson's smile and the shadow cast by his body.
A shadow so thick it couldn't be dispelled.
Lumian, her head lifting almost imperceptibly.
On the way to the first floor, Charlie, who had been silent for a long time, couldn't help but ask, "Is the suffering of the poor really endless?"
"I really like a quote from Aurora Lee," Lumian replied expressionlessly, "Sometimes, it's not us who are wrong, but the world."
No sooner had he finished speaking than three people came running up from the first floor.
They were all Police wearing black uniforms, black vests, white shirts, and leather boots without laces.
That One leading officer, who was easily over 1.85 meters tall, glanced at Charlie and Lumian and suddenly stopped in his tracks.
He reached for the gun at his waist and asked in a deep voice, "Charlie Collent?"
Charlie was stunned:
"It's me, officer. What can I do for you?"
The officer gave his colleagues a wink and pulled out steel handcuffs.
As his two companions circled around him, he said to Charlie with a serious expression, "You are suspected of murder, and we are arresting you."
"Murder?" Charlie was shocked, frightened, and full of doubt.
Lumian raised an eyebrow, seemingly taken aback.
As the officer handcuffed Charlie with the help of his partner, he said to him:
Mrs. Alice is dead!
