"Master of the Inn"
At 10 p. m., on the way back to the "Golden Rooster Inn" from Market Avenue.
Louis, the Gang Thug who had previously followed Baron Brignais, accompanied Lumian as they turned from the main road, where yellowish light mingled with clusters of light, into the darker side streets.
He glanced at the few streetlights that were broken for some unknown reason and hadn't been repaired in a long time, and said casually, "The Baron has spoken with the Stinger Gang. From now on, the ' Golden Rooster Inn ' truly belongs to our Savoie Gang."
Lumian scoffed:
"Stinger Gang really that easy to talk to?"
What do you mean by that? Are you hoping for a fight between the two sides? Louis felt more and more that Charles was a dangerous guy, with a love of conflict flowing through his veins.
He believed that given Charles's Personality traits and style of doing things, he would inevitably cause trouble for the Savoie Gang time and time again in the future.
At that time, the already tense Market District due to the rapid rise of the Stinger Gang will definitely become even more chaotic.
As a veteran Gang, Louis has always believed in the principle of bullying Ordinary Person rather than engaging in Library. After all, everyone only has one life. He has witnessed several of his comrades die in gang wars and police chases. Their families initially received some care, but as time went on, their situation became increasingly dire.
Of course, if he really couldn't escape, he wouldn't lack that ruthlessness. Every Gang Thug could follow Baron Brignais had grown up in street fights and alleyway brawls. They might not be quick-witted, but their skills and courage were definitely not weak.
Louis slowly exhaled:
"You demonstrated sufficient strength to protect the Golden Rooster Inn, and the Stinger Gang didn't want to escalate the situation and attract the attention of the Police. Therefore, after the Baron paid Wilson's medical expenses, the matter was considered closed."
"You need to play it safe during this time. If you attract the attention of the Police, you won't be able to withstand a thorough investigation."
"I don't really care. At worst, I'll just find another place to hide before the Official Beyonder round them up. You Savoie Gang may escape, but the Priest won't escape the Church... "Lumian muttered to himself, quoting a line from one of Aurora's books.
Louis continued, "The Baron told me to tell you that since you're staying at the ' Golden Rooster Inn,' it's under your control."
"We no longer provide daily expenses for members who have their own Territory."
His subtext was that, aside from the 1,000 Felkine, the Savoie Gang probably wouldn't give you any more money normally, and you'd have to find a way to earn the necessary income from your own Territory.
Lumian paused for a moment, then replied with amusement, "Okay."
As they spoke, the two stopped outside the "Golden Rooster Inn".
Looking up at the old, beige building, Lumian suddenly had a strange and absurd feeling:
Is this my Territory?
Every single person living in this run-down place is dirt poor. How are they going to pay protection money?
Forget it, it's a good thing they didn't cause me any trouble like Charlie did. I can't make money off them anyway!
With a silent murmur, Lumian bid farewell to Louis and entered the hotel.
Having already had two drinks, he decided not to go back to the Basement Bar and returned to Room 207.
Nobody has ever been here.
After reading Aurora's Witchcraft Notes for a while, Lumian heard familiar footsteps, followed by a loud knocking on the door.
He opened the door and, unsurprisingly, saw Charlie.
Charlie's face was flushed from the alcohol, and he laughed as he said, "Can you believe it? I'll be getting a new job soon! I went to White Coat Street tonight and bought some drinks for the waiters, and they introduced me to a Hotel Manager. He told me they're short a few Waiter, full-time Waiter!"
"If that manager finds out that you became Lover with a female guest at the Hotel, were involved in a murder case, and were just released, would he still consider you?" Lumian retorted.
Charlie's smile froze instantly. He rubbed his facial muscles and said, "He should give me a chance, right?"
"Charles, I didn't come to you about this. I wanted to ask, what are your plans for dealing with Miss Ethanisse?"
"What do you mean, how do we handle it?" Lumian asked with a smile.
Charlie forced a smile and asked, "Will you stop her from leaving the Messy Street?"
"If you let her continue working Streetwalker, how much money should she pay you each time, and how often should she pay?"
Lumian chuckled and said, "What she does is none of my business. I have plenty of ways to make money."
"I knew it! Praise the Sun, praise Saint Viève!" Charlie excitedly. "The moment I saw you in the Bar, I knew you were a smart and capable gentleman!"
"A judgment made using Fool's Instrument?" Lumian scoffed.
Charlie chuckled sheepishly, "That's one aspect."
He immediately waved his hand:
"I'll tell Miss Ethanisse this news!"
After running a few steps, Charlie stopped, turned around, and asked with unusual caution, "Will the Stinger Gang come back?"
"Baron Brignais has reached an agreement with them; the ' Golden Rooster Inn ' is now truly Savoie Gang Territory," Lumian replied casually. "And I'm in charge here."
Charlie's joy was palpable; he opened his arms wide and exclaimed, "Praise the Sun! Praise Saint Viève! Praise you, Charles!"
After saying that, he ran into the stairwell.
To put me alongside "Eternal Blazing Sun" and Saint Viève... are you afraid I won't die fast enough? Lumian scoffed, shook his head, and returned to his room to continue studying Aurora's Witchcraft Notes.
Charlie knocked on the Wooden Door outside room 408.
Yisansi, her cheek swollen and red, opened the door and saw him. She said indifferently, "I'm not feeling well today. Find someone else."
Charlie couldn't wait to share the good news:
"Did you know? The hotel no longer belongs to the Stinger Gang; it belongs to the Savoie Gang!"
Yisansi suddenly remembered what had happened that evening, hesitated for a moment, and asked, "Are you sure?"
"Confirmed!" Charlie said in his signature enthusiastic tone. "You won't believe it, but I heard it from the head of the Savoie Gang, Charles, the Charles who lives in 207. He's become the head of the Savoie Gang, and the ' Golden Rooster Inn ' is now his Territory! He told me personally, 'Oh, those sows of the Stinger Gang are all gone, they're never coming back!' He also said that the Savoie Gang and the Stinger Gang have reached an agreement!"
Charles ...the man who threw Wilson downstairs? Yisansi's Eyes flickered, as if she had come to life from her Puppet state:
"Has the Stinger Gang really been driven out?"
"Really!" Charlie nodded vigorously.
Yisansi paused for a few seconds, then gritted her teeth and cursed, "Those sons of bitches, those rotten-ass cowards, they're finally gone!"
Charlie then added, "I asked Charles, and he said you can do whatever you want, it's none of his business. He's a very capable person, so capable that he actually changed my opinion of him as a prankster, unbelievable, right? He can come up with a money-making plan every minute!"
Yisansi was completely stunned.
In her mind, no Gang member was a good person; they were all bastards who deserved to Hell!
Charlie went on and on, but Yisansi didn't listen to a word he said; all she could hear was the phrase "Do whatever you want."
After Charlie left, she returned to her room and quickly changed into Lady's blouse and light-colored trousers.
Then, she lifted the Bed and took out a stack of Banknotes totaling 200 Felkine.
After stuffing all the banknotes into her pocket, Yisansi hesitated for a few seconds, then took out most of them and hid them back in their original place.
She took the remaining 40 Felkine, closed the door, and went down the stairs.
Soon, she walked out of the "Golden Rooster Inn" and into the Messy Street.
There was only one lit Gas Streetlamp every so often on this street. Under the Crimson Moonlight, many drunk people walked along the road, sometimes shouting, sometimes singing, and sometimes breaking into a fight.
Yisansi dodged the drunkards, timidly making her way along the shadowy side of the street towards the exit of the Messy Street.
During this process, the image of her trying to escape last time and being caught on the street by the Stinger Gang flashed through her mind.
The brutal beating still makes her shudder when she recalls it.
Yisansi walked slower and slower, as if the Stinger Gang were lying in ambush ahead of her.
Finally, she reached the exit of the Messy Street and saw the wide main road outside.
Yisansi stared blankly at the scene that had seemed so close yet unattainable, feeling as if she were dreaming and it wasn't real.
She unconsciously started walking again, quickening her pace in the dark night, under the Crimson Moonlight.
Before long, she arrived at the nearest Public Carriage stop.
She remembered that on her first day in Trier, she got off the Public Carriage right here.
Now, she has finally returned here.
There were no more Public Carriage running Late Night, but Yisansi didn't care at all. She stared at the street ahead, at the Mailbox in the darkness, at the sign with the carriage routes, and her eyes gradually reddened.
Suddenly, Yisansi turned around and started running.
She needed to go back to the "Golden Rooster Inn" to pack her luggage and leave at dawn!
Yisansi ran faster and faster, feeling the wind on her face, cool and damp.
Her vision blurred, and she seemed to see a reflection of her Past self in her eyes.
Yisansi, who came to Trier full of dreams and passion, stood under the streetlamp ahead, gently waving and saying:
Hurry and catch up!
In front of Room 207 at the Golden Rooster Inn.
Yisansi wiped her eyes and knocked on the door.
Lumian opened the Wooden Door and glanced at her:
Is there something you need?
Yisansi asked in a slightly hoarse voice, "Why are you helping me?"
Lumian smiled:
Why should I help you? What do you have that makes you worth my help?
"She's not pretty, and she doesn't have much money."
Yisansi's heart full of gratitude was instantly swallowed back.
She didn't even know how she left the second floor; she felt like she was dreaming as she packed her bags.
Watching her disappearing figure at the top of the stairs, Lumian chuckled softly.
"I'm not trying to help you, I just can't stand Destiny is mocking me."
We are all people mocked by Destiny, but I presumptuously want to Provocation and rebel until death ends it all!
In that instant, Lumian felt that his "Provocateur" Potion had been digested a little more.
Although he still has a long way to go before fully digesting it and needs time to refine it, this means that he has adapted to the "Provocateur" Potion, his condition has stabilized, and he can consider extracting the sealed power within him to obtain the "Mendicant Friar's " Gift.
Judging from his name, it should make up for the fact that he doesn't have any Mysticism methods.
