Interpretation
Lumian has been waiting for an interpretation of the Dream's symbolism for some time, eagerly hoping to receive enough clues before his "reunion" with the Parish Priest Guillaume Béné.
Only in this way can he more effectively "interrogate" his target.
This time, after the "Magician" Lady grabbed his shoulder, what he saw was no longer a dense layer of colors and bizarre creatures.
He first felt a few glimmers of starlight rising, then found himself in Distortion and Concealment dark Tunnel. His spirit and body seemed to be in chaos, unsure whether he was moving forward, backward, or upward, as he fell.
This state lasted only a very short time, but Lumian couldn't say exactly how long, as if he had temporarily lost his accurate perception of the passage of time.
He recovered and when he opened his eyes, he even doubted whether he was still in the Breeze Ballroom one second and had arrived at his destination the next.
What came into view was a Primeval Forest that almost blocked out the sky, and a Brownish Yellow Hunter's cabin stood in a clearing surrounded by huge trees.
"Go in." The voice of the "Magician" Lady reached Lumian's ears, but he could not see the Half-God.
Following the directions, he strode forward, stepping over the swarms of leeches that rolled towards him, and passing through the various poisonous Poisonous Insects that flew in the air and crawled on the surface of the grass and trees, until he arrived at the Hunter's hut and pushed open the half-closed Wooden Door.
Inside, there are rows of bookshelves and Wooden Table placed among them, making it seem like a different world from the surrounding Primeval Forest and Hunter's cabin.
Daoist sat behind the Wooden Table, wearing a white shirt and an open black coat. He leaned back in his chair, his entire body seemingly shrouded in thick fog, making him very blurry. Lumian could not see his face clearly, only barely discerning the clothing, the position of his facial features, and his gender.
"Have a seat," the figure said in a voice that was both magnetic and slightly ethereal.
"Hello." Lumian gave a polite bow before sitting down. "How should I address you?"
The figure thought for a moment and said, "You can think of me as a Poet."
Poet? Lumian didn't understand the meaning of this designation, but he chose to respect it nonetheless.
"Hello, Mr. Poet."
That One Poet nodded slightly and said, "' The Magician ' has already told me the entire Dream and related information, but I still hope to hear you tell it in detail again."
Calling him "The Magician" directly... Is he also a member of the Tarot Club? A holder of some Major Arcana? Lumian looked at the Poet opposite him again with some suspicion.
Based on the outlines discernible through the thick fog, he gained a further impression:
His black hair was longer than Ordinary Person, giving him an artist-like appearance; his eyes were emerald green, though not particularly sharp; his face was thin, and he was quite tall; his posture wasn't very upright, appearing rather casual...
These elements, combined with the dense fog, make the Poet seem as if he has emerged from the Depths of Dream.
"Okay," Lumian replied.
He recounted the Nightmare about the Cordou Village in detail, adding details about the various traces found in the Ruins and the wealth of information he had acquired in the past month and from the Library.
Compared to the past, when recalling these events, although he still experienced emotional fluctuations, they were not as intense. Throughout the entire process, he only took one deep breath.
As Lumian spoke, he noticed that the Poet, who was leaning back in his chair, had clasped his hands together and placed them on his chest and abdomen, and that his green eyes were much clearer than before.
The next second, Lumian noticed strange Insects crawling in and out of the other person's eye sockets.
The Insects a mix of transparent and opaque, as if they were carrying Ring on their backs.
Such a scene almost made Lumian forget to speak, just as he was inevitably horrified when faced with the headless Monster created by "Supervisor" Olsen.
He composed himself, forcing himself to ignore the strange Insects wriggling into his eye sockets, and expressed what he wanted to say completely.
After he finished speaking, the Poet paused for a moment and said, "It is indeed a Dream full of symbolism."
"Let's start with the simplest one: the dead Warlock in the Tomb Chamber."
Doesn't this symbolize that Aurora became Attendant of Fate, and ultimately died? Before Lumian could even raise this question, the poet and the bookish man seemed to sense his thoughts and offered an explanation. "This is a very typical double-structured symbol, that is to say, it contains two layers of meaning."
" In the First Layer, the Warlock symbolizes the Power of Fate, or rather, Corruption, and also represents Termiboros. The Coffin and the concept of 'death' are equivalent, both symbolizing that the Power of Fate has been sealed and lost its vitality, while the Tomb Chamber represents the seal itself."
"In the Dream, we can see that the Warlock is indeed dead and has never left the Tomb Chamber, which matches the sealed state on your body."
"Because in this matter, your Older Sister Aurora also received the Gift of Fate and is currently suspected to be one of the main forces, representing the Power of Fate to some extent. In addition, she has already died, so the matter of Warlock has Second Layer of symbolic meaning."
"These two layers of symbolism are superimposed through the core concept of ' the Power of Fate,' making it easy for interpreters to overlook one of them."
So that's how it is... Lumian, whose mood was gradually becoming heavy, was persuaded by the Mr. Poet and came to understand the essence of the Warlock legend from another perspective.
The Poet maintained his previous posture, and the strange Insects no longer crawled in and out of his Eye Sockets.
"Having unraveled the full symbolic meaning of the dead Warlock, we now have a preliminary answer to what the Owl and the other you represent:"
"The other you symbolizes both your alienated personality due to Corruption and Termiboros's attempt to achieve its own goals by influencing your thoughts. If it were only the former, the other you would not have been able to leave the Tomb Chamber."
"The fact that the Owl can freely enter and exit the Tomb Chamber of the dead Warlock suggests that it can bypass the seal to some extent. At the same time, it also exhibits several characteristics: it is constantly monitoring your Change, it does not appear at crucial moments, and it stays by the dead Warlock's side."
"Based on our interpretation of the symbolism of the dead Warlock, the Owl represents another Fate Attendant, responsible for monitoring your state. Its attitude towards the dead Warlock is rather ambiguous; it neither shows the Protection it should have nor helps the Angel's descent in the final Ritual."
"Bypassing the seal should mean that it is outside and can communicate with Termiboros in some way. I can't be sure about that yet; you can't ignore other possibilities."
The symbol of that "Sufferer" turned out to be Owl; I had thought it was another version of myself or Aurora... Lumian felt both relieved and somewhat disappointed.
Taking advantage of the Mr. Poet's brief pause, he posed a question:
"The underground Altar is real, but what does the aura of ' Sufferer ' in the Dream symbolize?"
"The First Layer symbolizes the presence of Power of Fate there, but if it's only this layer, the Symbolic Elements is unlikely to appear in the form of a ' Sufferer's ' aura." The Poet paused for a few seconds before interpreting, "The Second Layer, if the Owl that monitors you symbolizes Sufferer 'Attendant of Fate, then it means it doesn't want others to come into contact with the Altar of Fate, which also symbolizes the Power of Fate."
"Furthermore, we also see that you suffered the least harm, which indicates that the ' Sufferer ' did not want to kill you and may even have protected you to some extent, similar to the 'psychological therapy' you experienced in the Trier Market District."
From the very beginning, did that That One already have the idea of plotting against Termiboros? Of course, before the intention was truly exposed, he would also cooperate with Termiboros in doing some things... Termiboros tried to influence me several times, but failed. Is this one of the reasons? Lumian couldn't help but feel sorry for the Fate Angel sealed in his chest.
The Poet continued, "I suspect there is Third Layer of symbolism, representing a true Sufferer in the Cordou Village, not Sufferer on a supernatural level."
The real Sufferer... Lumian was startled upon hearing this.
He had many thoughts, but couldn't find the right answer.
The Poet himself wasn't entirely sure about this, and instead offered no further explanation, instead interpreting the symbol that Lumian was currently most concerned with:
"Regardless of whether the Lizard- like Elf actually appears in reality, its symbolic meaning in dreams is quite clear:"
"First, it expresses a longing for the Cemetery and a love for entering and exiting those tombs, but without actually entering the Tomb Chamber of the dead Warlock. This symbolizes that it belongs to another force, and while it has a certain connection to the Power of Fate, it is by no means the same as it. It is more like it is using this to seek and obtain something related to Fate."
Another force... Lumian recalled the transparent "Lizard" that appeared at the scene during the "Shadow Tree" incident.
The Poet sat up a little straighter:
"Secondly, it symbolizes hidden Corruption and unconscious change."
"Throughout the entire Dream, only two people had Lizard-like Sprite crawl out of their mouths: your Older Sister Aurora and the Assistant Parish Priest Michel Galligan. What impressions do you have of the latter in reality?"
Lumian thought for a moment and said, "It's similar to the Dream, but not as exaggerated."
"He was a fairly Devout follower of the ' Eternal Blazing Sun,' but because he was ostracized by Guillaume Béné, he developed a paranoid idea that he should preside over a Sermon and hear confessions. Later, this became increasingly apparent, and he completely ignored everything else..."
At this point, Lumian suddenly paused.
He remembered Aurora, another person from whom Lizard-like Sprite had crawled out of her mouth.
Didn't she also overlook the possibility of writing to Hella for help?
The Mr. Poet nodded:
Your Older Sister Aurora probably behaved similarly.
"Third, the Lizard-like Sprite represents a force or Deity that does not want to see the Fate Angel truly descend; it symbolizes the role of the Destroyers."
Seeing Lumian's confusion, the Poet continued, "If it weren't for the person who had crawled out of his mouth Lizard-like Sprite knocking you unconscious and taking you to the final sacrificial site to make you a vessel, the initiation Ritual might very well have succeeded."
"Think about it, if it had been someone else standing in front of Aurora during that Ritual instead of you, would she have briefly regained her senses and pushed him off the Altar?"
