Making use of a special environment
Inside the dark Tunnel supported by Stone Pillars, Franca, who didn't care whether there were Carbide Lamp or not, turned to Lumian and said with slight worry, "Is it really okay to advance using that heart? Although you seem unafraid of the Sauron Family's Curse, it will affect your condition after taking the Potion, and may cause you to fail. Actually, you should really consider Gardner's suggestion. Taking another Potion from Sequence 9 to Sequence 7 will make you a little stronger, but that's about it. There won't be any qualitative change. It's better to choose a safer option."
The "Pleasure Witch" has learned from Lumian what happened in the Underground Labyrinth of Red Swan Castle and most of Lady "Magician's" replies.
While marveling at the existence of the "Special Soldier" and the mad screams of the Loss of Control Angel, she was also somewhat worried about Lumian's reckless idea of using the "Wax Figures Maker's " Beyonder Characteristic and the shriveled heart of the Mutated Black Spider to concoct Potion.
Lumian, carrying the Carbide Lamp, chuckled softly.
I only did this because I was absolutely certain I was right.
"You have a way to eliminate the effects of the residual blood vessels in that heart?" Franca wasn't entirely convinced.
At this point, she seemed to snap out of her reverie:
"Where are we going? Didn't you want to drink Potion? Just find a quiet place, there's no need to keep going around in circles Underground, is there?"
Lumian laughed:
"It's precisely because the destination is so unique that I'm confident I can minimize the influence of the remaining bloodline of the Sauron Family within that heart."
It can also reduce the danger posed by the Corruption in his body to his advancement!
"Where is the destination?" Franca, her face full of curiosity.
Lumian smiled and replied:
You'll see when you get there.
"Damn it! I hate people like you who don't finish what they're saying!" Franca couldn't help but curse.
"Is this the destination you mentioned?" After more than half an hour, Franca pointed to the naturally formed and modified giant stone archway in front of her and asked, both surprised and vaguely understanding something.
The massive stone archway was carved with numerous skulls, White Bone arms, Sunflower, and Steam- related symbols.
This is the entrance to the Catacombs; ahead lies the Empire of Death!
"Somewhere inside it," Lumian said with a smile, taking a White Candles from his satchel containing the "Torture" gauntlets and tossing it to Franca. "I will take the Potion under the watchful eye of the gods."
"Under the gaze of God?" Franca looked at Lumian suspiciously, wondering if this guy had picked up the bad habit of being an "Astrologer":
They're not speaking human language!
Lumian offered no explanation, lit a White Candles, and carried it into the Catacombs.
As usual, there were obstructions from the administrator, and as usual, there were promises made by themselves. The two made their way to the Third Layer of the Catacombs and saw the two mottled giant stone Sacrificial Pillar and the small Square around them.
Upon stepping into the unbelievably clean area, Franca suddenly realized:
"Are you trying to take advantage of the special features here?"
She had explored the Catacombs before, but had never ventured into the Third Layer. She had only heard Lumian mention that there was a Square there with two Sacrificial Pillar, one symbolizing the "Eternal Blazing Sun" and the other the "God of Steam and Machinery."
Under the protection of these two Sacrificial Pillar, even if the candles in one's hands are extinguished, the humans in the Square District will not be swallowed by darkness, and even the traces of their existence will perish.
"Yes." Lumian laughed.
He handed the White Candles to Franca, walked to the weathered pillar carved with numerous symbols such as the "Sun Sacred Emblem," Sunflower, and radiating lines, and respectfully spread his arms in sincere prayer:
Praise the Sun!
His plan was to use the unique features of the Catacombs and the protective Sacrificial Plaza to suppress the influence of the remaining bloodline of the Sauron Family and the Corruption of Fate within them.
Based on his experience, a large part of such influence comes from the outside world, from the corresponding Source, such as the sealed Vermonda Soren Depths the Underground Palace and the Fate force Outside the Barrier.
Without this influence, what remains is the erosion caused by the internal Corruption taking advantage of the body's temporary imbalance and Change in the seal during the advancement. Lumian had experienced this deeply during his previous three advancements and felt that he could completely withstand it, because these external aids from the Corruption would be suppressed and weakened by the special features of the Catacombs and the protection of the Sacrificial Pillar.
The Primordial One inspiration for this plan came from the formation of the extraordinary "Beatrice's Necklace," based on the "Magician" Lady's statement that certain special environments could sever the connection and prevent the Gift Power from returning to the Mother, such as the area around the "Samaritan Woman Spring."
Lumian felt that although this Sacrificial Plaza in the Catacombs was certainly not as special as the area around the "Samaritan Woman Spring," it wouldn't be much worse. After being filtered by the eerie atmosphere of the Catacombs themselves and the protection of the "Eternal Blazing Sun" Sacrificial Pillar, external influences would definitely be significantly reduced.
Moreover, the sacredness of this Sacrificial Plaza comes from the Protection of the Orthodox God, so Lumian doesn't need to worry that his act of taking Potion here to advance his cultivation will cause a backlash from the surrounding environment.
Franca was momentarily stunned as she watched Lumian sincerely praising the Sun.
It really was under the "watchful eye" of the Deity!
But aren't you afraid that you, as a believer in Mr. "The Fool," will be directly purified?
After finishing his prayer, Lumian returned to Franca and handed Past a beautifully crafted perfume bottle.
"What is this?" Franca asked, puzzled.
"Gray Ambergris Perfume." Lumian's expression flickered in the candlelight. "After I take the Potion, observe my reaction. If you sense anything amiss, unscrew the cap and bring the bottle to my nose."
He originally did this himself, but this time, with the influence of the remaining bloodline of the Sauron Family, and being in the Mid-Sequence, he was worried that the situation would become more serious. He might not have the ability to open the perfume bottle, and if he used it from the beginning, his subconscious would remember that he was the one who made it, which might lead to a loss of effect.
"Okay." Seeing that Lumian didn't seem inclined to explain, Franca suppressed her curiosity and didn't ask any questions.
Lumian glanced at the wide stone steps leading to the Second Layer of the Catacombs and added, "One more thing you need to do is prevent visitors from disturbing me."
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Franca rolled her eyes.
Does this even need explaining?
Lumian didn't say anything more, and took out a Crystal- like beer mug from his bag.
Using Graduated Cylinder, he first added 80 milliliters of dark red "Wax Figures Maker" blood, and then added the venom glands of the Mutated Black Spider, 10 grams of Amber Powder collected over the past month, and two white Oak Tree Fruit.
These materials, some possessing strong spirituality and others carrying corresponding symbolism, were mixed together. They did not melt instantly, but some black foam rose to the surface.
Lumian then gently sank the Blood-Colored object, which resembled a shrunken human brain, and the withered, blackened heart into his bloodstream.
With a hiss, Blood-Colored mist billowed out and then receded, all the solids rapidly decomposing and Fusion together, making the Potion's color deepen.
Bubbles rose and burst, and eventually the liquid in the beer glass turned Iron-Black, with a lot of reddish rust floating on top.
Seeing this, Franca muttered under her breath, "Sure enough, those who play tactics have dirty minds, and their Potion are just as dirty..."
Looking at the deep, dark, Blood-Colored- red Potion, Lumian took off his satchel and Military Flask and tossed them aside.
After throwing the "Lie" at Franca, he slowly exhaled and composed himself.
After twenty or thirty seconds, he sat down cross-legged, steadily picked up the beer glass, and drank the Potion without the slightest hesitation.
This Potion has a strong metallic taste and is icy cold upon entry, like a slippery, cool snake crawling in the darkness.
Unlike the previous times, Lumian's body did not feel burning hot, but instead felt cold all over, as if all the Flames had been absorbed by the Potion.
At the same time, his head began to throb with a familiar pain, and hallucinations flashed before his eyes—all his thoughts and the information he possessed materialized, strung together in the form of miniature pictures, forming a complex, interwoven spiderweb.
This shattered Lumian's mind, and he vaguely heard terrifying murmurs that seemed to come from both infinite distance and near at hand, accompanied by a spreading of violent and insane emotions.
However, none of these were serious. The excruciating pain from the former did not nearly make Lumian faint. He instinctively rolled over, but his expression involuntarily Distortion and contorted, his hands clenched tightly, and he groaned uncontrollably in pain. The latter, on the other hand, was completely within the tolerance range of a "Mendicant Friar."
Lumian's right palm felt slightly warm from the stimulation.
Finally, the scorching Flames arrived, this time concentrated within Lumian's mind, unreal, illusory.
During this process, Franca, who was watching, wanted to open the perfume bottle several times, but as soon as the thought crossed her mind, Lumian returned to normal.
It sounds slow, but it only took about twenty or thirty seconds. Lumian slowly released his tightly clenched hands, and the Distortion facial muscles gradually returned to normal.
Huff... Lumian exhaled a scorching breath and opened his eyes.
"Did it work?" Franca asked instinctively.
Lumian, feeling the stinging pain in his head and body, responded with amusement:
"If you fail, you'll be fighting against my Loss of Control."
This was actually easier than his previous three promotions.
"Who knows if Loss of Control ' Conspirer ' is pretending to be a normal person and secretly attacking me..." Franca knew she had spoken too quickly, but she still instinctively argued back.
Lumian raised her hand and rubbed her temples. Despite the pain, her thoughts seemed clearer than ever before.
He quickly recalled the events that had occurred and keenly sensed that some of the details might be problematic.
This was something he hadn't noticed before.
For example, according to the Nightmare, the Poet Ilett, who frequently participated in the King Cake Game, should have long been half -Wax Figures and could go insane at any time, harming himself or those around him. But not only was he fine, he also frequented the problematic Sacred Heart Monastery and coincidentally saw Albus Medici!
