Acting principles ahead of time
Judging from the Poet Ilett's inability to escape a maddening Destiny in his Nightmare, he was not unaffected by the King Cake Game; it was just that it wasn't manifesting yet, much like the Painter Maren and the novelist Anoli...
In other words, the possibility that he himself has any abnormalities or problems is very small, unlike the cases of Alois and Albus...
Is there someone behind him ensuring his current safety and allowing him to transmit effective information? If so, who is this person? Someone within the Sacred Heart Monastery? Did they make similar arrangements after discovering the undercurrents within the Monastery? Lumian were working faster than usual, and he quickly formed some guesses.
He pulled his thoughts back and focused intently on examining the Change in himself after taking the Potion.
In addition to the enhanced insight and more agile and clear thinking he just experienced, which led to a series of specific manifestations, such as an improved IQ and a similarly enhanced ability to fabricate reasons to persuade others, he also possessed Extraordinary Ability to mislead, confuse, and deceive.
This ability is a core component of "conspiracy," but a qualified "Conspirer" will only use it in subtle ways and at crucial moments. Under normal circumstances, they will try to rely solely on their intellect to avoid being detected by targets with powerful backgrounds who might then uncover their conspiracy.
Similar to "misleading" is another ability called "Agitation" or "instigation," which is very close to the Witch ' "Instigation." When Lumian Acting "Pyromaniac," she consciously incited others and ignited the Flames in their hearts.
This made Lumian wonder:
"Was my Acting too advanced, or is it that the ' Hunter ' Pathway is constantly deepening in certain concepts, with the Acting of the previous stage becoming the ability of the next stage?"
"Hmm, the ' Conspirer ' Potion only brings about changes through intrigue; it doesn't offer any significant improvement in combat..."
After repeated confirmation, Lumian discovered that his physique had improved to a certain extent, and his fine manipulation of Flames had also improved. He no longer needed to use only Fire Raven, Fireball, spears, fire snakes, and fire walls every time; he could freely shape the Flames into different forms, such as whips and sabers.
Similarly, the difficulty of repeatedly compressing a crimson Flames to form Blazing White Flame has been reduced, and the time required has been significantly shortened, ranging from one to three seconds depending on the specific shape of the Flames and the density of energy.
In addition, Lumian can briefly merge his body with Flames, using Fireball and other projectiles to quickly relocate, escape enemy attack range, or close the distance between himself and his opponent. This gives Lumian more options in combat, eliminating the need to constantly rely on "Spirit World Traversal."
The "Conspirer" also brought spiritual enhancement. Although Lumian has not yet tested it, he feels that under extreme circumstances, the "Spirit World Traversal" which could originally only be used four times should be able to be used six times.
Lumian sniffed and, unsurprisingly, detected scents from further away, discerning more details.
This is because the "Conspirer's" information-gathering ability has improved, which inevitably leads to an enhancement of the five senses and spiritual perception.
That's about it... Lumian stood up, his body suddenly enveloped in flowing crimson Flames.
He transformed into Fireball and flew away with a whoosh.
He landed on the ground less than ten meters away, surrounded by scattering flames.
"The current limit is ten meters, and it will gradually increase as the Potion is digested..." Lumian nodded almost imperceptibly and walked back to where she had discarded the black satchel and Military Flask.
He now fully recognizes that he is Sequence 6 "Conspirer".
"That's cool... How does it feel?" Franca asked, both curious and concerned, holding the "Lie" earrings and the "Gray Amber" perfume.
Lumian for a few seconds and then said, "The Change in my abilities aren't as many or as strong as I imagined."
"That's normal," Franca reassured her understandingly. "For most Pathway, there are only two turning points below the High-Sequence. For the ' Hunter ' Pathway, one is Sequence 7 ' Pyromaniac ' and the other is Sequence 5 ' Reaper.' But in any case, each Potion will bring new abilities or an enhancement of the original. If used well, it's quite normal for Sequence 6 to kill Sequence 5."
Lumian nodded slowly, as if pondering to himself, and said, "I also discovered that I've been playing the Acting of ' Conspirer ' for a long time..."
During his wanderings, he relied on ruthlessness and scheming to fight against those older than him, for food and a place to sleep to keep warm in the cold wind; in the Cordou Village, every prank could be seen as a minor conspiracy; in the months since he left Cordou Village, he has been embroiled in intrigue, either harming his targets or falling into the traps of others...
Although this didn't allow Lumian to immediately digest a portion of the "Conspirer" Potion, it did improve his condition compared to when he first took the "Pyromaniac" Potion, as the power from the Potion was no longer uncontrollable and was no longer dissipating.
He didn't feel like a "Conspirer" who had just advanced by taking Potion, but rather like Sequence 6 Beyonder had adapted for a while.
At the same time, he naturally summarized two Acting Principle from his past experiences:
First, the core of a "Conspirer" is intellect, not Extraordinary Ability!
Second, the key to a conspiracy is to Concealment one's true intentions!
Previous Acting Principle were the result of gradual exploration and summarization, leading to a significant digestion of the Potion. These two Acting Principle, on the other hand, are the accumulation of past experience. Although they cannot directly provide digestion of the Potion, they can help Lumian in his future Acting, shortening the time he needs to fully digest the Potion. To put it simply, he may only need to spend half the effort to reap double the effect.
Lumian originally thought it would take him at least six months to digest the "Conspirer" Potion, but now it seems that it might only take about three months, provided that he has a continuous opportunity to Acting and has summarized new Acting Principle.
Franca shared his sentiments:
"Yes, it's easy for me to Acting the ' Assassin ' because I have so much 'experience' before."
When she said the Vocabulary "experience," her voice unconsciously softened a little, as if she were somewhat guilty.
Lumian ignored the detail, stuffed the items on the ground into her black handbag, and retrieved the "Lie" earrings, Gray Ambergris Perfume, and the Burning White Candles.
Seeing that her companion was indeed alright, Franca breathed a sigh of relief and said, "It's a good thing to advance before that Calamity might strike. Damn it, if it weren't for Blanche Soren's petty jealousy and her constant attempts to prevent me from attending parties, my ' Pleasure ' Potion would have been largely absorbed by now. Humph, I'll have to let that shallow-minded girl experience real Pleasure later!"
She cursed Blanche Soren for the 103rd time.
Franca then asked, "Next, are we going to take action against those people?"
Those people refer to members of the "Sinners" organization.
Over the past month, Lumian had tried several times to capture the liaison of the "Sinners" organization through Guillaume Béné's Widow, Pauline. One reason was to find the Samson Family, both to avenge his Older Sister and to track down Loki —they had a deep connection with Loki and might know where Loki's Resurrection Castle was. The other reason was that the "Sinners" organization also believed in Evil God and might know something about the unusual quiet of the Evil God Cult in Trier, which might help Lumian and his companions figure out the Source and nature of the Calamity.
Because he hadn't yet figured out the pattern of the "Sinners" organization's liaisons' appearances, Lumian kept postponing his actions. Later, he wanted to wait until he advanced to Sequence 6 and had stronger power before making a move. After all, the other members of the "Sinners" organization weren't like Parish Priest Guillaume Béné, whose Contract Ability were known to him and whose corresponding negative effects he knew, allowing him to prepare in advance. If the Contract Ability of those Evil God Gift-Bearers were combined well, they would be quite troublesome.
Of course, Lumian didn't intend to completely destroy the "Sinners" organization with his own small team. That was Evil God Cult with Saint. His plan was to capture the liaison, get the information he wanted, and then call for support from the "Tarot Club".
"Yes." Lumian smiled and nodded, responding to Franca, "In a couple of days, the liaison officer from the ' Sinners ' organization should be visiting Pauline That One."
"Hmm, hopefully he knows something." Although Franca didn't feel she had the ability to prevent the possible Calamity, she still hoped to do something.
She thought for a moment and then said, "Take Jenna to Lavigny Docks tomorrow and introduce her to Mr. ' The Fool's ' beliefs."
"Okay." Lumian already had this idea in mind.
The following morning, Lumian knocked on the door of Apartment 601.
He glanced at Jenna, who had changed into a light blue Long Dress, and said with a smile, "I need your help with something."
"Me?" Jenna pointed to herself, then glanced at Franca. "How can I help?"
"Don't ask, you'll find out when we get there." Lumian was too lazy to make excuses.
Jenna's Eyes flickered slightly, lost in thought and confusion.
"Damn it! Can't you just explain yourself clearly?" she cursed, gesturing to Franca to indicate her own helplessness.
Then, she followed Lumian out of the Apartment building.
Franca, witnessing this scene, fell into deep thought.
In the Four-Wheeled, Four-Seater Hired Carriage, Lumian didn't mention the purpose of their trip. He chatted with Jenna about the drunkards at the Breeze Ballroom and the Actor at the Old Dovecage Theater. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, like a school field trip.
Jenna didn't ask any questions and showed considerable patience.
Finally, the Hired Carriage arrived at the Lavigny Docks. Lumian paid the fare of 1.75 Felkine, opened the door, and jumped out with a swift movement.
Jenna moved to the carriage door, Future nimbly leap down, her gaze sharpened, and she uttered Franca's usual exclamation:
Wow!
Lumian followed her gaze and saw an old-fashioned, clearly outdated Three-Masted Sailing Ship docked at the Lavigny Docks.
Such boats are rarely seen at Lavigny Docks now, but they hold a special place in the hearts of those who grew up watching and listening to the "Great Adventurer" series.
Those Great Pirate seemed to really like ships like that.
