Tracking the Clues
The child of God... and the picture book Franca was startled, almost causing the Double-Barreled Hunting Rifle, which was not aimed at any target, to go off accidentally.
She looked at Blanche and asked, as if confirming, "The Primordial Witch child?"
Although her probationary period was not yet over, she had passed the review and was considered a prospective member of the Witch Sect. Naturally, she "knew" that this Concealment organization worshipped the Deity "Primordial Witch," and usually referred to her by terms such as "Primordial Witch."
Blanche nodded slowly and said, "As far as I know."
"The Primordial Witch once gave birth to a child?" Franca asked, unable to hide her curiosity. "Who is Krismona's father?"
"I don't know," Blanche warned Franca. "This is not something we should know."
This is gossip at the level of the Deity... Franca muttered silently, steering the conversation back to her main purpose for coming to Chaillot Town today:
"Has Teresa, the Art Dealer impersonated by Beatrice Ankoul, returned from the Feysac Empire? Where is she staying?"
"Why are you asking this?" Blanche, quite wary.
In her eyes, Franca Roland and her Lover were all powerful and dangerous Beyonder, while only Jenna, who lived with them, was relatively ordinary.
Franca laughed:
"Yesterday, while helping Charles take revenge, I captured a follower of an Evil God who believed in Fate. From him, I learned that many of Trier's Gifted had gone to a mysterious and strange place."
"Based on some details he provided, we suspect that the ' Hostel ' mentioned on the note on Beatrice's body is the destination of the Evil God Gift-Bearers. We want to confirm with Teresa whether the note was for her or for Beatrice along with the _book_."
Blanche felt very uncomfortable hearing Franca use terms like "follower of the Evil God god" and "Evil God Gift-Bearers."
In the Mysticism World, the "Primordial Witch" has always been considered Evil God.
Of course, these Primordial Witch Followers all believed that they worshipped a marginalized True God, a sufficiently Concealment being.
After Franca finished speaking, Blanche replied directly, "You don't need to look for that Art Dealer anymore. After discovering that the High Priest of the ' Bliss Society ' and another Core Member were missing, we patiently waited for Teresa to return based on the contents of the note."
She told us that she didn't know what a ' Hostel ' was, nor had she ever bought any artwork from Painter who stayed at a hotel.
"We have confirmed that this is genuine."
Franca said with a toothache and annoyance, "It really is a note for Beatrice... Judging from that note, Beatrice knows where the ' Hostel ' is, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to pick up the painting within three days."
"If only we had found the note first, then we could have ' Spiritism '..."
Franca paused for a moment at this point.
She felt that Destiny had played a cruel trick on her in this matter.
Destiny seemed to be protecting the "Hostel's" information from being leaked.
Was it the Power of Fate at work, or the Evil God Pathway of escaping one's original Destiny through death, as Charles had mentioned before? Was the information about the "Hostel" Predestination not to be leaked? Franca's thoughts raced, and she felt more and more that there was something abnormal about that matter.
Blanche, seizing the rare opportunity, immediately launched an attack on Franca:
"Aren't you supposed to be very experienced? You actually ' Spiritism ' the target's Corpse without thoroughly searching it. The first hour after death is the golden time; there's no need to rush."
Franca wanted to explain that this might be a twist of Destiny, but after thinking about it, she decided not to.
Why remind Blanche and teach her a lesson?
Wouldn't it be better to keep her inexperienced? She might be able to be useful in the future!
Franca then looked at Blanche and clicked her tongue, saying, "Such a chattering little mouth..."
Before she finished speaking, she smiled and extended her right hand, gently grasping the other person's chin:
"I can skip your fun parties, but I want to take your 'test'."
"Want to give it a try?"
Blanche instinctively reached out and slapped Franca's right hand away, taking a step back and saying, "If you behaved like a normal Women, I could test you, but now..."
She meant that Franca now resembled a libertine, a Dandyism playboy.
"You're so stubborn." Franca chuckled, saying something that Blanche found strange but could understand.
She picked up her Double-Barreled Hunting Rifle and strolled leisurely into the forest, no longer speaking to Blanche.
The base of that luxurious, Ivory house at No. 19 Schell Street in the Boulevard District.
Lumian saw Mr. K again in the Basement, dressed in a long black Robe and wearing a wide Hood.
He had previously reported the unusual quiet of the Evil God Cult to his superior, and Mr. K, after a period of investigation and information gathering, confirmed the situation.
Today, Lumian mainly talks about the Prophecy of Buwal's Corpse and his own associations, along with the situation of the "Sinners" organization.
He described the information provided by the "Magician" Lady as Buwal's testimony, saying that he had seen a painting with strange powers at Vazan Sanson's place.
Finally, Lumian produced the "Mystery-Peering Glasses":
"Mr. K, has this Mystical Item also been Corruption by the ' Hostel ' Pathway's Gift?"
Mr. K stood in front of the Red-Backed Chair and said in a low, husky voice, "Wait a moment."
He clapped his hands lightly, letting the Waiter outside the door in, and whispered some instructions to him.
While waiting for the Waiter to return, Mr. K remained silent, and the entire Basement was completely still.
This made Lumian a little embarrassed, and he could only mutter to himself, "Say something, even just talk about your beliefs, don't leave me standing here like this..."
Of course, Lumian knew very well that Mr. K was not doing this out of boredom; he was probably listening to the voice of the Deity and seeking unknown information.
Not long after, the Waiter returned, carrying Oil Painting that was about half a meter high and nearly seventy centimeters wide.
The Oil Painting depicts a dark forest, which serves as a backdrop for the Sunlight green meadow in the center.
There was a white area on the grass, as if it had been scraped by a scraper; upon closer inspection, it appeared to be Daoist.
Mr. K finally spoke:
"Aside from the ' Mystery-Peering Glasses ' that was discovered, along with the cryptic and mentally disturbing Oil Painting, was this artwork hanging on the wall."
"It was originally supposed to be a portrait, but when we saw it, the person was gone, and only the landscape remained."
Did it step out of the painting? Lumian was startled, recalling the example given by the "Magician" Lady.
He didn't tell Mr. K any of that, after all, Buwal didn't seem like someone who knew that much.
"Something unusual happened that caused the figures in the portrait to disappear?" Lumian asked tentatively.
Mr. K, his head covered by Hood, slowly nodded:
"Perhaps it came back to life and left the painting on its own."
"It could be the Source of That One Beyonder's Mutation."
"The Aurora Order certainly knows a lot..." Lumian commented sincerely, "Strange power, a terrifying phenomenon."
Mr. K added in a hoarse voice, "We have investigated some of the more famous Painter in Trier and found that, apart from a few who have gone completely insane or even died long ago and no one knows about them, the others are still relatively normal, except for cases of abusing psychotropic drugs and relying on alcoholic beverages."
"Combined with other findings, we've determined that it's not that Painter easily become followers of that Evil God Pathway gain the corresponding power, but rather that those Evil God Gift-Bearers through that Pathway acquire the ability to paint and naturally become Painter. However, only a small fraction of them make a living by painting; the vast majority remain hidden among the people, painting their own works without publicizing them."
"Sequence name, ' Painter '?" Lumian asked thoughtfully.
This aligns well with the characteristics of strength.
"God said, 'Yes,'" Mr. K replied with a Devout and fervent tone.
Lumian immediately lowered his head:
What else does the Lord teach us?
"God said, ' The Hostel is for travelers from afar.'" Mr. K was very satisfied with Lumian's attitude.
Foreign travelers? Travelers from Outside the Barrier? Lumian tensed up, becoming even more focused.
But Mr. K did not deliver any further Divine Revelation; it seemed that this was all the divine revelation he had.
Mr. K's hoarse voice carried a hint of seriousness:
"Our most important task now is to find that ' Hostel '."
Before Lumian could respond, he paced back and forth and said, "The number of cases involving Evil God we handle is always less than those in official positions; they probably know more."
"I'm not in a position to get involved in this matter, but you can try to obtain information from them through other channels."
The Aurora Order wants to cooperate with the government to stop this Calamity? No, not necessarily to stop the Calamity, but simply to prevent those Evil God from succeeding. For this, they can lower their stance a little and take advantage of the government... Lumian muttered silently for a moment, then solemnly agreed.
The rooftop of Apartment No. 17, Dole Street, Market District.
Having disguised herself to conceal her Charm, Jenna met Imre and Valentine.
She glanced at the rows of Green Trees lining the street below and said to the two "Purifier," "I have important information."
Valentine's expression darkened:
"What intelligence?"
He had been worried about the "Assassin" asking about the Main Ingredient of the "Witch's " Potion, but now he was already in work mode.
Jenna truthfully stated, "I received information that some people who appear to be followers of Evil God went to a place called ' The Hostel '."
She didn't mention the unusual quietness of the Evil God's followers, which, thanks to "007's" help, had become a consensus among the Official Beyonder of Trier, and clues about this were among the information Jenna was asked to pay attention to.
"Hostel..." Imre, who had some Southern Continent blood, frowned slightly.
Such a reaction... Jenna keenly noticed and raised a question:
Do you know what ' Hostel ' means?
Imre and Valentine exchanged a glance, both looking quite troubled.
They didn't really want Celia Bello to know about it, but if they didn't tell her anything, it would be difficult for her to continue helping them gather clues. After all, they needed to know something to understand what information they should pay attention to.
After a moment, Imre organized his thoughts and said, "Our colleague once heard the word ' Hostel ' from a strange creature."
