A world inside a painting?
The familiar sarcasm and the completely Cavern expression immediately made Jenna realize that this Charles who had come was the real one.
"Damn it! Can't you speak properly?" Jenna waved the rag in her hand and cursed.
Lumian closed the door behind her and said with a smile, "You're quite energetic, not crying from fear at all."
Jenna cautiously glanced back out the window, confirming that the figures emitting the faint light were long gone.
She suppressed the urge to argue with Lumian and, without wasting time, asked, "Why are you in here too?"
As she spoke, she kept telling herself:
As an adult Women with rich life experience and who has suffered many setbacks, I cannot argue with such an immature minor at such a critical moment!
Lumian's gaze swept over Franca, who was sipping Red Wine by the window, then he sat Long Sofa, leaned back comfortably, and said, "Tell me how you got in."
To be honest, he didn't know why he had suddenly come to this strange place where the "Hostel" was located.
Jenna remained standing by the Coffee Table, making sure she could enter the mannequin's state at any moment.
She recounted in detail how she received a revelation in Dream, came to the Underground to deliver a quest item, and received Lucky Gold Coin.
Lumian didn't interrupt, listened attentively until the end, and then laughed:
Now I can answer your question.
"I was sent here by Mr. ' The Fool ' to save you."
He roughly understood why he had woken up to find himself in Room 207, Golden Rooster Inn.
"Was it really Mr. ' The Fool ' who sent you? I don't even know His full Honorific Name, just that he had Lucky Gold Coin and his prayers were answered?" Although Jenna had suspected this before, it didn't stop her from finding it unbelievable now.
"Of course it's true." Lumian said sincerely.
His current concern is something else entirely:
Why did Mr. The Fool send himself instead of Lady. Magician?
If the person who pulls you into the "Hostel" is the "Magician" Lady, then the problem is easily solved!
This could be interpreted as him bearing the seal of "The Fool," but Lady "Magician" is Major Arcana, Core Member of the "Tarot Club" who can participate in Conference Before the Divine, and within the three Divine Pathway controlled by "The Fool," she wouldn't lack similar marks, so she should also be able to "assign remotely."
There's probably some reason I don't understand... Lumian for a moment, then focused his attention on Jenna's description of this world.
He asked, as if to confirm, "From the outside, the only difference between this place and reality is the Breeze Ballroom?"
Previously, Safali and Gabriel had only mentioned that there was a Black Hole on Market Avenue, through which there was hope of escaping, but it was also very dangerous, without specifying its location. Lumian had a vague guess, but couldn't be sure, until Jenna revealed her discovery.
"I only explored these few streets nearby and less than a fifth of Market Avenue," Jenna answered cautiously, lest Charles make a misjudgment.
She then added, "The interiors are quite different. Here, only the room layout and large pieces of furniture are the same as in reality, but other details are quite different."
"I suspect, I suspect..."
Lumian looked at Jenna and spoke before she could, "The Painted World."
"Yes, the Painted World!" Jenna finally made that vague idea clear.
Combining the "Painter" Sequence with the Paint and Paintbrush she found from the Mutation Monks, she concluded that this was an Oil Painting that only copied a part of the Market District's streets and possessed some kind of supernatural power, titled "The Hostel"!
This both worried and troubled Jenna, and also made her feel very amazed.
Painting a picture is like creating a world!
"I'm glad you share this understanding; that's not easy," Lumian joked before adding, "This Painted World isn't even that advanced. It's Oil Painting created by Angel through the ' Painter ' Pathway; it might truly be a world within it, where living beings exist."
Unlike this one, which feels artificial in many places.
What purpose does this painting, which isn't particularly high-level, intend to achieve?
Before Jenna could respond, Lumian began to instruct her:
"Go and feel around in Franca's Hidden Pocket; see if there's a classic-style silver Mirror."
"Why don't you search for it yourself? You know better than I do what that ancient mirror looks like," Jenna suddenly chuckled softly. "Are you shy?"
Lumian said nonchalantly, "If you weren't here, I would have searched myself, but since I can give you the order, why should I bother myself?"
Jenna gritted her Teeth, not daring to waste any time, and walked to the window, rummaging through the different pockets of the fake Franca.
She quickly came to a conclusion:
"Without ancient Mirror, many Hidden Pocket were not depicted."
Lumian nodded slowly, mentally crossing out option seven.
He then turned to Jenna and said, "Try using the ' Magic Mirror Divination ' to see if it works."
Having some experience, Jenna knew that Lumian wanted to use this to confirm whether the Painted World was connected to the Spirit World, so as to determine whether his "Teleportation" would be successful and whether it could help the two of them leave. So she took out a Vanity Mirror from her Hidden Pocket and prayed to one of the safer people Franca had given her.
Before long, the preliminary steps of the "Magic Mirror Divination" were completed, and the palm-sized Mirror turned gray, but no Waterlight shimmered.
"It failed, but there was something extraordinary about it," Jenna said, slightly puzzled.
Lumian nodded slightly and said, "There must be a false Spirit World here. If you activate your ' Spirit Vision,' you might be able to see a few remnant souls, but it's not connected to the real Spirit World, so you won't be able to find That One being you're trying to inquire about."
In other words, he can "Teleportation" within the Painted World, but he cannot leave.
Lumian reached into his pocket, took out Mr. K's finger, and tossed it in front of his eyes.
There was no reaction, and it brought about no Change whatsoever.
"What is this?" Jenna was startled.
Charles was carrying around a human finger covered in blood!
"A Mystical Item that couldn't make contact with the outside world," Lumian explained perfunctorily.
At the same time, he sighed inwardly:
Mr. K's fingers may look beautiful, but they can never function properly.
Most of the time, Lumian doesn't need it, and when he does need it, the circumstances are often special, making it impossible to use the connection between it and his main body to summon Mr. K.
Jenna didn't press further, but pursed her lips and asked, "What do we do next?"
She couldn't think of any other way to escape, so she could only consider starting with the Black Hole of the Breeze Ballroom, the edge of the Painted World, and the two fake Church.
Lumian smiled:
"No rush, I still have five, six, seven or eight other options to try."
"But before we try them, we need to go to Market Avenue and take a close look at that Black Hole in Breeze Ballroom."
"You and the Library want to leave from there?" Jenna asked, frowning.
That seems very dangerous.
"This is the last resort, but also a necessary preparation. I don't want to try other plans here and fail, only to be discovered by the Fairy, blocked by the ' Hostel ' tenants, and then unable to get close to the Breeze Ballroom even after trying my luck." Lumian stood up and walked towards the door of Apartment 601.
Jenna glanced out the window again and saw that the Sun was setting in the west, and the Fairy ' servants had not returned.
She then quickly followed Lumian down the stairs.
During the journey, she asked in a probing manner, "What is the purpose of those Evil God followers creating such a Painted World? Is it to Concealment the guests of the ' Hostel '?"
Lumian replied thoughtfully, "I think this is a secondary purpose; overall, it's more like a Ritual."
"Think about it, this place is like a fake Market District. There should only be one place left blank: the Breeze Ballroom. And as I told you before, there are ancient bones from the Fourth Epoch Underground the Breeze Ballroom, which are secretly connected to the old Cemetery of Saint Robles Church. The fact that the Painted World leaves it blank is definitely not a coincidence."
"I also think that's the core of the problem." Jenna instinctively wanted to prove she wasn't stupid and had a similar suspicion.
As Lumian descended, he pondered and said, "When the Mutation truly occurs, is it possible that this Painted World could temporarily replace parts of the real Market District streets, leaving only the Breeze Ballroom unchanged?"
"Whom is this meant to mislead, and what is it meant to mislead...?"
In Mysticism, this represents the application of the "Law of Similarity"—when the similarity reaches a certain level, the manipulation of counterfeit goods can be reflected in reality...
"Are they trying to unlock the secrets Underground Breeze Ballroom and find those old bones from the Fourth Epoch through this method?"
"No, it shouldn't just be about the old bones... They want to open the portal to Trier in the Fourth Epoch?"
"It's not that simple. The entire sealing system hasn't been destroyed or weakened yet..."
Lumian gradually got a clearer picture, feeling that he was getting closer and closer to the core plan for this Calamity.
If he ultimately manages to grasp the truth, it will be an excellent Acting of his insightful ability to be a "Conspirer."
Jenna nodded slightly, agreeing that Lumian's guess made a lot of sense.
The two were talking when they left No. 3 White Coat Street, when their gazes suddenly froze.
Across the street, a woman wearing a loose-fitting white sundress was looking at them!
The woman had a beautiful face, with slightly curly black hair draped messily over her shoulders, and rather Cavern blue Eyes. She seemed both detached and real.
Lumian and Jenna had seen a similar temperament and a similar feeling in another person.
That's the Mannequin Safali in Room 12 of the "Hostel"!
This is another room in the "Hostel," another Mannequin? Why is she here, as if she's waiting for me and Jenna? Lumian's mind tensed instantly, and he instinctively reached out his right hand to grab Jenna's shoulder.
At the same time, the beautiful woman laughed softly, "Destiny Predestination us to meet."
"Aggregation always happen unexpectedly."
