Their respective roles
Juan Oro's expression Change as he gazed at the Wraith that resembled Ilu.
Although they missed the best time and Library for Spiritism, they still managed to find out who had died on the first day, found an item that could accurately point to the target, and used the "Little Demon's" ability to complete the summoning. However, none of the souls of the dead appeared, which led them to believe that the spirits of those who angered the Sea would also be devoured, so they did not make any further attempts.
Nearly a year later, the summoning was actually successful!
Furthermore, it appears that Ilu did not drown, but was shot.
This is completely different from the backlash that resulted from a failed Sea-Praying Ritual!
Charnem inquired in Hermetic about the spirit that resembled Ilu, but the target was in a daze, remembering nothing, even its appearance had become blurred, assimilated by its environment.
Charnem ended the Ritual and then used Sara's clothes, which she had worn for many years, to summon the spirit of another deceased person.
This time, nothing appeared.
Charnem stopped trying, extinguished the candle, dispelled the "Spirit Wall," and said to Juan Oro in the Highland Language, "The problem is becoming clearer."
Juan Oro did not respond, but glanced at his grandson Fernandez:
"Take them out, send them home, and give each of them a few words of advice."
"Okay." Although Fernandez really wanted to hear Charnem's speculation and learn what would happen next, he didn't dare disobey his grandfather's orders. He quickly led the surviving Sailor out of the small living room and closed the door.
Several dozen seconds later, Juan Oro finally looked at Charnem, whose features were unremarkable:
"You mean, the Ilu who died in the Sea-Praying Ritual was a fake?"
Charnem chuckled and countered, "How can you believe the fake Ilu is really dead?"
"The other Seer were swallowed by the Sea, but he might not have."
Leaving aside the Miracle of resurrection, no one present could prove that the fake Ilu had actually fallen into the sea.
Seeing Juan Oro fall silent, Charnem continued, "The real Ilu should have been assassinated by those Destroyers days or even weeks before the Sea-Praying Ritual. No, more likely he was kidnapped and shot some time after the Sea-Praying Ritual. That way, your ' Spiritism ' would have failed, since a living person cannot Spiritism in this way. Afterward, someone impersonated him and lived in Milo Village for a while, Wedding the Sea the ' Governor of the Sea's' Ceremonial Ship without Sailor."
"Hmm, is Ilu the kind of person whose entire elder family has died, who is unmarried and childless, and who doesn't live with his siblings?"
Juan Oro's eyes narrowed as he said, "Pretty much. Their grandmother died more than a decade ago. His parents were both ' Child of the Sea,' who left home to start their own family. Not long after he came of age, they lost control of their powers, lost their Rationality, and became pure Sea Kin. We sent them back to the ocean."
"Sure enough, they picked the sailor who had the easiest disguise." Chanem said with emotion.
Juan Oro frowned and said, "But everyone who boards the Ceremonial Ship undergoes a routine check by another Sea Kin to verify their authenticity."
Charnem laughed:
"You said it yourself, it was a routine check, but there are many disguises in this world that require specific methods or in-depth discernment to detect."
Juan Oro nodded solemnly.
Charnem, with a touch of boastful goodwill, suggested, "Next time, you'd better draw blood from everyone who boards the ship and compare it with their closest Lineage to see if there's a matching bloodline."
"That's one way," Juan Oro hummed in agreement.
Past hundreds or thousands of years, the Sea-Praying Ritual has never had any problems, so they had never thought of improving some of the details.
Juan Oro then asked, "What exactly did those who disrupted the Ritual want to gain?"
"We don't know either." Charnem shrugged and glanced at the curtained window.
That direction leads to the residence of the "Governor of the Sea".
Juan Oro assumed that Charnem was alluding to something Louis Berri had mentioned earlier, and nodded slightly, saying, "Once this year's Sea-Praying Ritual is successful, we will release Miguel and let him live in Torelle. By then, Last Year's failed Ritual will no longer be an absolute secret, and we will have no need to kill Miguel."
"Miguel?" Charnem asked thoughtfully.
"It's that fake ' Governor of the Sea.' He originally worked for the Fishing Company, Ancestors came from the Milo Village," Juan Oro explained simply.
Charnem away and smiled:
"He enjoyed a year, though he was always worried, but everything comes at a price."
The Great Adventurer's companion paused for a moment, then asked with a hint of curiosity, "Were your Ancestors from Milo Village a clan that emerged from the Depths the Sea, or were they ordinary fishermen who one day received a sudden inspiration and enlightenment from the Sea Sea, mastering the method to please it and receive its Gift?"
Juan Oro remained silent for a long time before saying, "We don't know either; there are two possibilities."
"Milo Village was once destroyed by the Church the Earth Mother, and many traditions were completely lost. We have no way of knowing the origins of our Ancestors."
"I personally lean towards the second possibility, because we are completely different from other Sea Kin. Our offspring Primordial One born in human form, and only after absorbing more Sea Power can they possibly transform into those Humanoid Lizard. Moreover, our power declines, but theirs does not."
Charnem nodded in agreement:
I also think the second scenario is more likely.
He then asked, "Have all traces of the Ancestors of Milo Village truly been completely erased, without leaving even a trace?"
Juan Oro looked at Charnem for a few seconds and said, "There are some remnants in the Basement of the ' Governor of the Sea's ' mansion, but they are just symbols and patterns, without any practical meaning, and cannot be deciphered."
"If you want to see it, wait until the Night-Watch Ritual. Aren't you worried that our cooperation will be discovered? Going to the ' Governor of the Sea's ' residence now would easily expose us."
"Okay." After asking for other details, Charnem suddenly shrank into the shadows in the corner and disappeared instantly.
Juan Oro looked at the spot where his Great Adventurer's companion had disappeared and sighed slowly.
He had a sense of unease, as if a storm was brewing around Santa Port.
The Master Bedroom of Suite on the fifth floor of the Solo Hotel.
Emerging from the shadows Charnem put the Silver-White "Lie" ear clip behind his left ear. His Eyes quickly became as clear as lake water, and his hair turned Flax, growing longer and cascading over his shoulders.
Even dressed in Men's clothing, Franca still exuded stunning Charm. She tossed the earring back to Lumian, took a black rubber band from her pocket, and tied her long hair into a high, flowing ponytail.
"We've found traces of the ' Wandering Poet '!" the "Pleasure Witch" exclaimed joyfully.
"Why ' Wandering Poet ' and not the other two?" Lumian sat in the armchair at his Desk, with the curtains drawn behind him.
He deliberately returned to Trier this time, bringing Franca to Santa Port to help. Firstly, he felt that he was not as good as the "Pleasure Witch" in the fields of Divination and Spiritism, and since he didn't want to Truth Serum, it was a better choice to directly ask Franca for help. Secondly, he wanted Franca to impersonate his other identity, completely distinguishing "him" from the Great Adventurer Louis Berri, thus deceiving those who were secretly monitoring him. In the future, he might even be able to use this to carry out some kind of Deceit.
Franca recounted the day's Spiritism encounter and conversation, saying, "The fake Ilu first needs to possess abilities similar to the ' Faceless,' and secondly, he needs to be skilled at stealing. A long time ago, ' I Have a Friend ' said that the ' Wandering Poet ' is Sequence 6 ' Fire Stealer ' of the ' Thief ' Pathway. Of course, he may have more than that now."
"If it weren't for the fact that everyone else confirmed that ' Loki ' did not participate in the prank at Last Year's Sea-Praying Ritual, at least not openly, he would definitely be the most suitable person to impersonate Ilu. Now, however, ' The Wandering Poet ' is more likely."
"As a Sequence Beyonder Mid-Sequence the ' Thief,' he may possess items similar to ' Lie,' or perhaps he made a request to That One Celestial Worthy, receiving changes in his physique and appearance, along with Mysticism Anti-Divination Anti-Prophecy. Hmm, the ' Thief ' are one of the three Pathway most easily influenced by Celestial Worthy."
Lumian, and a smile gradually appeared on her face.
The role and function Acting the ' Wandering Poet ' in Last Year's Ritual can now be clearly defined:
"His job was to disguise himself as Sailor, steal the real Ritual Ring, replace it with a fake one, and then jump into the sea to fake his death and escape!"
Lumian paused for a moment and then said, "The question now is, what role did ' Madwoman ' and ' Ultraman ' Acting in this matter, and what function did they have? As it stands, their presence or absence wouldn't have affected the final failure of the Sea-Praying Ritual."
Franca pursed her lips and paced back and forth a few times, saying, "' The Madwoman ' might be responsible for receiving and contacting them. For example, after ' The Wandering Poet ' jumps into the sea, she could ' Teleportation ' over and take him away directly, so he wouldn't actually be swallowed by the raging Sea. Only ' The Traveler ' can do something like that."
"Ultraman, responsible for providing information on the Sea-Praying Ritual and formulating corresponding plans? No, he definitely has more than that; he must have other roles..."
Lumian leaned back in his chair, slowly stroking his chin, and said, "Regarding the ' Madwoman ' part, I agree with your speculation, but based on the information we have so far, without the ' Child of the Sea ' to guide us and without following a fixed route, it's impossible to enter that special Sea Area. How did the ' Madwoman ' ' Teleportation ' there? Hmm, is she also lurking on the ship? Or, does the ' Wandering Poet ' have some kind of special tracking ability? This must not be a physical object, otherwise it would have been discovered."
"As for ' Ultraman,' I've always suspected he's a local from Santa Port and has a good understanding of the Sea-Praying Ritual. He was probably the one who started that prank Last Year."
At this point, Lumian stood up:
"My gut feeling tells me that if we can figure out exactly what Ultraman did in Last Year's prank, and what role Acting besides being the mastermind, then we'll be able to grasp the true purpose of April Fool's Day in this whole affair!"
