Spoils of War
Lumian didn't stand on ceremony and accepted "Gandalf's" "invitation".
This is because the "Curly-Haired Baboon Research Society" is a melting pot of various Pathway, including rarer ones like "Demon." He has access to all sorts of knowledge and items, which may not necessarily be stronger than what he originally possessed, but in the right situation, they might play an unexpected role.
Secondly, this gave him a reason to continue Acting Aurora Acting "Muggle," which would give him the wonderful illusion that his Older Sister was still alive somewhere in the world.
After the four finished discussing what had happened in that special Sea Area, the "Wandering Poet's" Corpse Change: a little bit of light emanated from it, condensed on the Corpse's right hand, and caused the flesh and bones to collapse simultaneously.
In the end, the hand was severed at the wrist, as if it came from an infant, small and Paleness.
The Paleness quickly changed, turning a darker hue, perfectly matching the environment of this Ancient Palace.
This is the Beyonder Characteristic of the "Dream Thief".
Lumian stared intently, sensing a faint Grayish-White Fog within the shrunken hand.
He Past, squatted down next to the "Wandering Poet's " Corpse, and began searching for other items.
After completing this task, Lumian took all the Spoils of War from "Madwoman" and "Loki" out of the "Traveler’s Bag" and placed them on the dilapidated Stone Slab of the Ancient Palace.
They were: a crystal so transparent it was almost ethereal; a bracelet with three diamonds sandwiched between four different colored gemstones; a pink Gold Ring inlaid with blood-red gemstones; a simple, unadorned silver Ring; a Dark-Gold Mask that could completely cover a face; a small Doll made of White Cloth Strips without painted features; a complex yet exquisite mechanical music box; and a Gray-White Brooch with a metallic sheen, resembling Lightning.
Together with a not-too-thick Blank Sketchbook and the Beyonder Characteristic of the "Dream Thief," there are ten pieces in total.
Lumian then raised his head and said to Hella and Gandalf, "You two choose one, one for each of you."
"This is what we should do," Gandalf said, indicating that the higher-ups of the "Curly-Haired Baboon Research Society" were making amends for their previous mistakes.
Wearing Hood, Lumian spoke in Aurora's voice, "Doing what is right and choosing Spoils of War are not contradictory. Just because Official Beyonder should protect the citizens doesn't mean they can't accept rewards."
Gandalf hesitated for a few seconds, glanced at Hella, and seeing that she didn't object, sighed and said, "Alright."
Lumian's lips curled into a smile, and he began to point to the items and introduce them:
"That seemingly ethereal, transparent stone is a remnant of the ' Madwoman's' Beyonder Characteristic ' Traveler ' traits, but it is severely Corruption, as evidenced by the thin Gray Fog that permeates it;
"The Beyonder Characteristic of the ' Dream Thief ' also bear the Corruption of That One Celestial Worthy, but not as severe, and to a lesser degree than the relics left behind by most followers of Evil God after their deaths;
"That bracelet comes from Loki and is called the ' Seven-Stone Bracelet.' Each diamond corresponds to one ' Teleportation,' and each colored gem corresponds to one ' Flash ' that lasts for ten seconds. Once it's used up, it's gone. The Negative Effect is that you can randomly hear some sounds while wearing it. Sometimes it might just be a man having an affair, and sometimes it might come from unknown creatures."
"This Gold Ring is called ' Bloodgold,' its name engraved on the inner layer of the band, along with a short inscription: 'Control flesh and blood, control everything.' Its function is to allow the wearer to control their own flesh and blood like the ' Rose Bishop,' and to use three types of Flesh Magic: Flesh Bomb, Flesh Cloak, and Flesh Fusion. The Negative Effect is that repeated use will lead to dependence on the Ring. Once it is no longer worn, the body will disintegrate into a mass of flesh and blood, unable to maintain a human state. If it is worn continuously, the wearer will gradually become extreme and insane, potentially Loss of Control. Carrying it also carries the risk of contracting madness."
"That silver Ring is a half-finished ' Sea Queen's Ring,' possessing only the High Sequence ' Steal ' ability, usable only once, and its Negative Effect is that it was noticed by a certain ancient Angel who survived;
"That Dark-Gold Mask belongs to ' Loki.' It wasn't destroyed in his self-destruction. Its specific function is currently unknown. I don't know if you've noticed, but when you see it, you feel an overwhelming urge to wear it and believe that you will become exceptionally powerful as a result. Let's call it the ' Devil Mask.'"
"This faceless Doll comes from the ' Madwoman,' corresponding to the ' Faceless ' of the ' Seer ' Pathway. By attaching it to your shoulder and shaping and adjusting its features and body, you are changing yourself. At the same time, it can also grant the wearer the ability to create ' Paper Figurine Substitute,' but only the first substitute Paper Person will have an effect. In addition to these two points, it can also allow the wearer to use Flames to jump and has a certain premonition of danger. The Negative Effect is that one day you may find that its face has become like yours, and you are no longer yourself. Carrying it will bring a weak Curse of Bad Luck."
"This mechanical music box was found on Loki's body parts. I don't know which Pathway or Sequence it corresponds to. It's said that the music it plays will either kill the person who hears it or drive them Madman, but only if they listen to at least ten seconds of the music."
"This blank sketchbook is something I just found on the ' Wandering Poet.' Its specific function and Negative Effect are still unknown, but based on my experience, perhaps the things drawn on it will come to life or exhibit special effects. Hmm, there are only nine pages left, and there are traces of them being torn."
"This Brooch belongs to the ' Madwoman,' seemingly prepared in response to the loss of the ' Governor of the Sea's ' Authority and the subsequent turmoil of the Sea. It allows the wearer to grow fish scales, reducing damage and enabling them to breathe and move underwater like a fish. Each strike carries an electric shock effect and may attract lightning strikes, with an almost 100% probability during thunderstorms. This likely corresponds to Sequence 6 or Sequence 5 of the ' Sailor ' Pathway. The Negative Effect is that even just carrying it increases the chance of being struck by lightning in the rain, and wearing it will also make the wearer irritable and impatient."
Lumian then proceeded to describe the ten Spoils of War in one go.
His knowledge of these items came entirely from the "Magician" Lady.
It can be seen that, in order to ensure the success of the Sea-Praying Ritual, "April Fool's Day" left most of the Mystical Item with "Madwoman," and "Wandering Poet" only had a seemingly ordinary Blank Sketchbook left with him. However, "Loki," the leader of "April Fool's Day," clearly kept some of his own. It is unclear whether this is his nature to keep the sketchbook or whether he specifically took it back for the purpose of Hunting Ludwig.
Gandalf looked at Hella:
You choose first.
Hella quietly walked in front of Lumian, her gaze sweeping over the ten items.
Soon, she pointed to the Beyonder Characteristic of the "Traveler" from the "Madwoman":
"It's heavily Corruption. Whether you keep it or have an ' Artisan ' make items from it, there will be considerable danger. You should leave it to me."
Her implication seemed to be that she had a way to mitigate the harm.
"Okay." Lumian did not object.
He respected the wishes of each person making the selections, letting them choose whatever they wanted. Of course, there was a certain order to the selections: his own team last, and himself last.
Hella stretched out her right hand, and the Evernight outside the Ancient Palace seemed to stir.
The illusory crystal, shrouded in Grayish-White Fog, vanished instantly.
After Hella turned and walked back to her original spot, Gandalf began to make his selections.
Seeing the guild leader's gaze sweep over the remaining nine items, Franca's heart skipped a beat, and she whispered silently:
Do not choose the "Seven-Stone Bracelet", do not choose the "Seven-Stone Bracelet"...
That was the "Teleportation" she had longed for!
--The Beyonder Characteristic of the "Traveler" was too dangerous for her to consider. Although the "Seven-Stone Bracelet" was a one-time use item, the advantage was that there were enough of them, and the Negative Effect were not too bad.
Gandalf's gaze lingered on the Dark-Gold Mask, and he muttered to himself, "I really want to study what abilities it possesses, and what it can bring..."
"But it's really too dangerous, I'm even considering wearing one now..."
"Hmm, the ' Bloodgold ' Ring will help me experiment with some dangerous things, and the blank sketchbook needs further study..."
"The ' Steal ' abilities of High Sequence are also worth studying... but the gaze of ancient Angel is no small matter..."
After much deliberation, Gandalf turned to Hella and said, "May I leave the silver Ring here? I'd like to come in half an hour early to examine it before each gathering."
"Yes," Hella agreed to Gandalf's request.
So, the president of the "Curly-Haired Baboon Research Society" chose the unfinished "Sea Queen's Ring".
Franca breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Gandalf, saying, "Master, you really should have gone down the ' Reader ' Pathway; your style Attunement them perfectly."
Why choose "Warrior"? Just to make the title "Gandalf" more fitting?
The half- Giant "Gandalf," clad in Flax Robe, glanced at Franca, smiled, and offered no response.
Lumian put the remaining items back into the "Traveler’s Bag," not giving Franca the chance to choose first.
In the room "Loki" rented near the Solo Hotel in Santa Port.
Lumian received a reply from the "Magician" Lady:
"I can't even discern the full power of that Dark-Gold Mask, which means it's quite special. You can ask Mr. K if he wants it. If not, keep it with me for now. I'll seal it away and wait for the right opportunity. It might come in handy then."
"Lady ' Hermit ' wanted the mechanical music box; nothing else mattered to her, except for this one, which was at least exquisite."
"Mr. ' Moon ' wanted that faceless doll. As for the reason, I don't know."
You can continue to distribute the rest.
