Bribery
Looking at the open doors of the mechanical elevator and the slender, dark shadow cast beside him, Lumian raised an eyebrow and calmly tilted his head.
He noticed that there was someone sitting diagonally behind him, and he didn't know when.
The Men was tall and thin, wearing an extremely elaborate, even layered, Black Robe. His face was as Paleness as if he hadn't been in the Sun for a long time, and a fluffy black hat covered his black hair, with a white feather tucked into the brim of the hat, swaying gently.
Lumian withdrew his gaze and stepped into the mechanical elevator, the tall, thin Men with dark brown Eyes following him without making a sound.
Lumian extended his right hand, grasped the brass Handle inside, and pressed it down next to the number representing the third underground level, hearing a click.
Once Lumian had chosen the floor he wanted to go to, the tall, thin Men wearing a white feather hat and a black hat did the same thing, pulling the brass Handle down to the eighteenth basement level.
After a short wait, the sound of Steam billowing out came from not far away. The Gears began to turn, the chain tightened rapidly, and the luxuriously furnished mechanical elevator slowly descended.
Neither of the two people inside the compartment spoke; it was unusually quiet.
Soon, the mechanical elevator stopped on the Third Layer. Lumian slowly stepped out and walked towards Suite 7 without looking back.
When he heard the sound of a metal chain being pulled away again, he silently muttered to himself, lost in thought, "That One Mr. Ivelista?"
He lives on the eighteenth underground floor, and his servants are all Ivelista, the dead.
The way Ivelista appeared and the state of his servants led Lumian to suspect that this was a "Wraith," Sequence 5 "Wraith" of the "Prisoner" Pathway.
The "Prisoner" Pathway is controlled by the "Rose School." Whether it's the "Temperance Faction" or the "Indulgence Faction," they are all inextricably linked to this Concealment organization. There shouldn't be many "Wraith" who don't belong to the "Rose School."
A rare wild "Wraith," or perhaps the vanguard of the "Rose School" eyeing Port Pylos? Hmm, the possibility of a "Temperance Faction" member cannot be ruled out. At least in those brief minutes or two, I didn't see any traces of long-term indulgence in Ivelista's desires... Lumian decided to write down his observations in a letter to the "Magician" Lady.
Whether it's good or bad, let the professionals determine!
Back in Suite 7, Lumian saw Ludwig sitting at the dining table, scooping food from a ceramic soup pot with a small silver spoon.
The dish was topped with a layer of cheese mixed with egg, and many parts were slightly charred. Through the large hole Ludwig had dug out, Lumian could see below stewed pork, beef, fish, shrimp, shellfish, potatoes, and tomatoes. Ingredient rich aroma of spices mixed with the fragrance of the meat itself filled the entire living room/ Restaurant with Magic Power that made one's mouth water.
Ludwig ate quietly, while Lugano stood up and asked solicitously, "Would you like some? This is a local specialty called ' Isio,' and the taste varies depending on the Ingredient chosen by the Cook."
Ludwig turned his head to look at Lugano, said nothing, and continued eating, only speeding up his pace.
Lumian next to Ludwig, smiling at the little boy whose mouth was full of cheese and juice, and said, "I was originally planning to bring you something better for a late-night snack, but then I thought about it and decided against it."
"What kind of late-night snack?" Lugano asked, quite cooperatively and with a hint of curiosity.
"You wouldn't want to know," Lumian said with a Demon smile.
The midnight snack he mentioned referred to the Corpse of Serial Killer Bram.
He had originally intended to bring back a few pieces for Ludwig to eat, to see what kind of "nutrition" the little boy could gain and what kind of information he could relay. However, considering that he had already asked and "Spiritism" Spiritism matter, and given Bram's position and the Andrealphus Family's anomalies, he probably didn't know much. Therefore, Lumian cautiously abandoned his plan to feed Ludwig.
According to his observation, Ludwig could recover some of his strength after eating a certain amount, and would not be so tightly restricted by the seal. If he were to eat the Corpse of a Sequence 7 Beyonder, it might cause a qualitative change in him. At that time, Lumian was afraid that his strength would not be enough to deal with possible accidents, and he would be cooked into a delicacy by Ludwig and eaten.
Ludwig paused for two seconds, holding the small silver spoon in his hand, and said, "If you didn't bring it, why did you say so?"
"Oh, are you getting a little angry?" Lumian chuckled inwardly. "It's to tell you that we've arrived in an adventurer's Heaven, a chaotic land, where you'll have plenty of opportunities to eat good food."
He was implying to Ludwig, "Behave yourself, and I won't forget to find you some 'good food'!"
Ludwig stuffed a spoonful of soft, stewed potato into his mouth and mumbled, "I don't want to go to school."
Does that mean as long as you don't go to school, everything else is negotiable? Of course, the premise is that you pay for enough food... Lumian stood up with satisfaction, walked back to the Washroom attached to the Master Bedroom, turned on the tap, and began to wash up.
The Brass-Colored faucet was spewing out hot water at a comfortable temperature.
Lumian soaked the towel, wrung it out, and poured the steaming hot liquid onto his face, feeling completely refreshed.
--The Aurela Hotel uses Steam to power its mechanical elevators and other Machine, requiring the boilers to run continuously to heat water. Therefore, providing hot water around the clock is one of its selling points.
The following morning, Lumian, wearing Golden-yellow Straw Hat, appeared on Kania Street next to the Resurrection Square in Port Pylos.
This place was once the center of Intis colonists' rule in Matani Province. Intisian road signs and shop names can be seen everywhere. Lumian easily followed the Intis Plane Trees and arrived at a four-story, Ivory house in a very luxurious Intis style.
The signs here read "Port Pylos Patrol Team" in Dutanian, Intis language, Highland Language, Loen, and Feysac languages.
The bottom of the sign also contains a hint with the same meaning as the Five Elements:
"We only handle supernatural events."
"They've really taken into account the reporting needs of adventurers from different countries..." Lumian joked as he entered the Ivory house.
The lobby of the building was nearly empty, except for a Receptionist who sat idly in a chair, flipping through today's local tabloid.
He was a native in his thirties with Deep Brown skin, Pitch-Black hair, a thin face, and dark brown Eyes.
"I want to report this to the Intis language," Lumian said as Past.
The native looked up at him, stood up unsteadily, pushed aside a partition behind him, and shouted a few words inside.
Lumian could barely understand that he was speaking in Dutanian:
"Looking for someone who understands Intis language, or Highland Language..."
"You can't do this. Since you don't understand foreign languages, don't waste time reading newspapers. Study properly..." Lumian muttered to Receptionist, maintaining a gentle smile as he patiently waited for the other Patrol Team members to come out.
Within a minute or two, a young man with frizzy brown hair, as if he hadn't slept with his hair completely dry the night before, pushed open a door from the Depths the hall.
He was wearing a white shirt and an unbuttoned Yellow Waistcoat, one hand in his pocket, when he approached Lumian and asked in fluent Intis language, "What case do you want to report?"
Lumian sized up the young man, who was clearly from the Northern Continent, with a cigarette between his fingers and Brownish Yellow Eyes, for a few seconds, then replied with a very restrained smile, "I've found a murderer."
The young man, with well-defined features and fairly good looks, pointed amusedly to the doorway:
"The murderer went to the other side to find the Police."
The Patrol Team's location is diagonally opposite the Port Pylos Police Headquarters.
Lumian still wore that reserved smile:
"He was a serial killer."
"Serial killer..." the young man with a cigarette between his fingers muttered to himself, his expression suddenly turning serious.
How did you know?
"I found many severed lips in his house, human lips," Lumian said with a still-reserved smile.
"A severed lip?" the young man, whose Yellow Waistcoat wasn't buttoned up, asked with a serious yet urgent tone, "Where does he live?"
Lumian thought for a moment and said, "I can't spell the street name, but I can take you there. I can find it; it's on a street near the ' Man-Eating Flower ' Bar."
The young man forced himself to calm down, took a drag of his cigarette, and said, "What about that murderer? Have you seen what he looks like?"
"He's dead," Lumian answered truthfully.
The young man paused for two seconds:
How did he die?
Lumian's lips curled up slightly, revealing a smile and a relaxed demeanor, a smile that was no longer reserved.
"I killed him."
The young man with the tousled brown hair suddenly froze.
He stared at Lumian for several seconds before saying, "You're an adventurer, here to collect a bounty?"
Bram's serial murders were all local, so there were arrest warrants issued by General Quilariel, but the warrants did not include the suspect's name or appearance, only a description of the case, because no suspect had been identified yet.
Lumian smiled and said, "I suppose so, but you can also receive it."
The young man frowned:
"What do you mean?"
"The reward is yours." Lumian made no attempt to hide his intention to Bribery the other party.
The young man glanced at Lumian a few times:
"What do you want?" (http://www. hetushu. com)
"I want the case files from the serial murder case four years ago, and the related items you've collected," Lumian replied frankly.
There might be something Ludwig could eat in there.
The young man fell silent, as if weighing the pros and cons.
Finally, he scratched his brown hair and said, "I can show you the case files and related items, but you can't take them away, you can only copy them."
"Also, I need to go to the scene first to confirm if it's that Serial Killer."
"Okay." Lumian extended his right hand and said with a smile, "It's a pleasure doing business with you."
The young man reached out and shook hands with him:
"It's a pleasure working with you. You can call me Camus, and what's yours?"
Lumian smiled again:
Louis Berri.
Louis Berri... that name sounds familiar... Camus thought to himself as he walked through the door at the Depths of the hall, intending to go with his two teammates.
