Bigger trouble
Upon hearing Priest Kali's shout, Riya immediately raised her Hunting Bow and aimed Arrows Entanglement with Silver-White Lightning at the Clergy dressed in a long, elaborate, dark Robe.
Unlike when she was facing the Café Boss Bunia earlier, the anger in her eyes was now much more obvious, without the slightest hesitation.
The Priest is committing Blasphemy and apostasy!
Just then, a long, strong hand appeared in front of Riya's Hunting Bow, blocking the Arrows.
"You..." Riya turned her head to look at Louis Berri, not understanding why he was stopping her.
Lumian said calmly, "Let's see."
During their conversation, Priest Kali revealed a wild and unrestrained smile, turned around, and carrying the Holy Scripture, walked back to Saint Sien Church.
The Golden dome at the top of the Church and the Statues and decorations on the exterior walls appeared somewhat dim under the Crimson Moonlight.
Once Priest Kali's figure disappeared through the open Church doors, Riya looked at Lumian with a slightly somber expression and asked, "Why?"
Lumian smiled:
"After discovering that this place resembled Dream, I've been pondering a question."
As he spoke, screams and shrill cries echoed through the Tizamo Town and the surrounding Plantation, reverberating in the dark night.
"What's the problem?" Riya pressed.
Lumian didn't answer but asked a question in return:
"It's now almost certain that we are participating in the ' Dream Festival '."
"In this situation, if you succeed in attacking Priest Kali, what will happen when the ' Dream Festival ' ends and everyone awakens?"
Before Riya could answer, Lumian smiled again and said to himself, "If the arrow pierces his arm, when he wakes up, he should feel phantom pain in the corresponding area, like he has arthritis, accompanied by muscle tearing;
"If you were to smash a hammer on his head and knock him Past, when he returned to reality, he would most likely suffer from headaches, dizziness, and nerve spasms."
"If you rape him and get him Pregnancy, when he wakes up, he will most likely feel nauseous, have acid reflux, and bloating, and feel like there might be a fetus in his belly;
"If you tied him up, kept shocking him with electricity, and burned him, wouldn't he feel like he was possessed by Wraith Shadows in the real world, always feeling restrained, Paralysis, or in pain?"
Riya listened calmly, not bothering to question why Priest Kali was Pregnancy; the more she listened, the more alarmed she became.
Because the symptoms Louis Berri described after waking up from these dreams basically matched the various manifestations of the mass hysteria in Tizamo Town that the Patrol Team had collected!
Lumian turned his head, glanced at Riya, and smiled as he asked a question:
"If you had killed Priest Kali with an arrow just now, what would have happened when the Dream ended?"
"Will he just die? No..." Riya doubted herself.
There have been no cases of people dying suddenly in their sleep overnight in Tizamo Town.
Riya immediately thought of an abnormal phenomenon here:
The period from mid-December to mid-March accounts for 80 percent of the annual deaths in Tizamo Town, and the mortality rate is significantly higher than that of Port Pylos and the surrounding towns.
Riya immediately changed her tune:
"Will they gradually die within the Future three months, irreversibly?"
Lumian nodded slightly and said, "I even suspect that the attacks launched by that Primitive Tribe in the jungle over the past three months were mainly to kill those who died in their dreams, so that they could die in reality in a plausible way and not expose their abnormality."
"The reason they only carried out one attack Last Year December and this December is probably because that attack was very successful. Those who deserved to die were dead, and some who didn't deserve to die also died. There was no need or motivation for them to risk coming to Tizamo Town again."
After listening attentively, Riya pondered for a few seconds and asked, "Which tribe Source the ' Dream Festival '?"
"Perhaps, more likely, they are Protection or worshipping that Source, and acting accordingly based on revelation," Lumian replied simply.
Riya nodded slightly:
"No wonder you stopped me from shooting Priest Kali; the people of Tizamo Town are all victims."
That's why I didn't retaliate against the two attackers, but just killed the Giant Python with a single punch... When I wake up, will that Giant Python crawl right up to me and die? If so, it'll be a perfect meal for Ludwig...? Lumian looked around the deserted Small Square, now Slumber in Evernight, and said, "Go find Camus now and see if he's still conscious."
In Tizamo Town, on the Third Floor of the Police Headquarters, five rooms and a Washroom belong to the Patrol Team.
One room is used for daily office work, another is used for storing documents and items, and the remaining three are Apartment belonging to the Local Patrol Team members, one for each person.
With the arrival of Camus and Kolobo, Maislow temporarily moved to Loban's place, making room specifically for his colleagues from Port Pylos.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
As the bells echoed, Camus suddenly awoke.
He gazed out the window at the deep Evernight and the dim, Crimson Moonlight, momentarily disoriented, unsure of the time.
Camus was about to pick up his pocket watch to check the time when he suddenly realized that Kolobo, who was supposed to be sleeping on the makeshift bed, was gone.
He tensed up, and by the Crimson Moonlight, he quietly rolled out of bed and put his pocket watch and weapon back on his person.
He moved slowly out of the room, only to find the corridor, shrouded in darkness, eerily silent, without a single sound. Meanwhile, outside the Police Headquarters, and in parts of Tizamo Town and several Plantation, sharp cries and wailing screams could be heard from time to time.
As they walked, Camus, relying on the Sheriff's familiarity with the "territory," noticed something unusual.
He suddenly fell to the ground and rolled forward.
A snapping sound rang out, and the Wooden Door of a room Camus was supposed to pass through suddenly cracked in two and flew out.
A giant sword cleaved out from within, accompanied by a fierce and violent sword wind, and struck the empty corridor.
Camus rolled, he turned around and saw who the attacker was.
That was Loban, a Patrol Team member who was over 1.9 meters tall, with short light Golden hair and light blue Eyes.
The man from Feysac wore a cruel smile, his eyes gleaming with undisguised Greed.
In the dim moonlight, his face was heavily shadowed, giving him an indescribable ferocity and Evil.
Upon seeing Loban, Camus's eyes flashed with two Lightning- like glints.
"Mental Piercing!"
Loban let out a scream, instinctively dropping the greatsword in his hand and raising both hands to cover his head.
Seizing the opportunity, Camus drew his larger-caliber Revolver, crouched down, and aimed at his teammate.
Looking at Loban's familiar face, Distortion with pain, Camus hesitated for a moment, then lowered the muzzle of his gun without knowing what had happened.
Bang!
A bullet was fired, hitting Loban in the knee, causing blood and flesh to splatter and bones to break.
Such injuries can be healed by the "Doctor" of the "Earth Mother" Church!
Loban swayed and collapsed to the ground. He instinctively tried to curl up, but the pain in his knees prevented him from doing so.
Camus lowered his Revolver, stood up, and continued running towards the end of the corridor.
As he walked down the stairs, he passed a cluttered storage room and heard a slight noise coming from inside.
Camus's heart skipped a beat, and he whispered, "Kolobo, is that you?"
After a brief silence in the cubicle, Kolobo's panicked and terrified voice rang out:
"Don't come any closer! Don't come near!"
"Please let me go!"
Camus frowned, sensing that Kolobo's mental state seemed somewhat abnormal.
Although he was occasionally afraid of this and that, and after meeting Louis Berri, he often didn't even dare to open his eyes, he had never shown such hysteria before. He was the type who was terrified but still forced himself to get things done and make the right choices.
What's wrong with Kolobo? Camus wondered.
Because he remained where he was and did not try to approach, Kolobo in the storage compartment fell silent again, as if trying to prove that he did not exist.
After a dozen seconds, Camus decided to check on Kolobo's condition. If the situation was serious, he would leave the area and search for Louis Berri.
Suddenly, he heard two footsteps approaching rapidly from below.
Camus abruptly turned his body to the side, aimed his revolver at the stairs below, and then he saw Louis Berry wearing a golden straw hat and Rhea holding a hunting bow and arrows.
Looking at the thickened, dark muzzle of the gun, Lumian chuckled and calmly said, "Welcome to the ' Dream Festival '."
"Dream Festival"... It's "Dream Festival" now? Camus instantly understood the current state of his teammates, including Loban and Kolobo. He looked at the smiling Louis Berri and the solemn Riya with a puzzled expression, and asked in a deep voice, "Why are we staying awake?"
Based on the performance of Louis Berri and Riya, he concluded that they were not dominated by excessive emotions and desires, but they never put down their Revolver.
"It's probably because we slept in that house in Tevanaco and had that particular Dream beforehand," Lumian simply stated his deduction.
Taking the opportunity, Riya told Camus about her speculation that her dream experience might reflect reality to some extent.
Camus first expressed relief that he hadn't blown Loban's head off with a single shot, then said gravely, "There are more than just the three of us Beyonder in Tizamo Town. If we keep thinking about not being able to kill them while they're attacking us, it will seriously affect our combat performance."
Lumian smiled:
Who says you can't kill?
"If anyone truly threatens me, I'll kill them."
Riya and Camus fell silent for a moment.
After a few seconds, Camus nodded and pointed to the storage compartment at the corner of the stairs, saying, "Kolobo's overreaction is out of fear; he won't harm us. Let him hide here and not disturb him."
Riya expressed her agreement, Lumian's expression suddenly changed slightly.
He asked, "Is Kolobo also in this Dream?"
Kolobo, like me, had been in Tizamo Town for less than a week, was also forced to participate in the "Dream Festival"?
"Yes," Camus asked, puzzled. "Is there a problem with that?"
Lumian said with a slightly somber expression, "This means there might be an even bigger, more serious problem."
That might be even more terrifying than the "Dream Festival" itself!
Before Camus and Riya could ask further questions, Lumian said directly, "You wait for me here."
Before he finished speaking, he had already used "Spirit World Traversal" and disappeared into the stairwell.
Lumian's figure was then outlined on the second floor of the Briu Inn, outside the door of his own Suite.
The next second, he heard a scream filled with Pain and terror.
That came from Lugano.
