The original arrangements
The Magician hummed in agreement.
"No problem, I understand your eagerness. I'll come and take you Past once I've set a time with Mr. ' The Hanged Man '."
Lumian paused for a moment, then said, "Thank you."
The "Magician" Lady thought for a moment and then specifically advised, "But don't be too impatient. As Emperor Roselle once said, if you are too eager to achieve your goal, you will not succeed."
"This is not only because eagerness can blind you and impair your judgment, leading you to make Error choices in many things, but also because there are requirements for one's mental state when taking Potion to advance. You should be very clear about this."
"I understand," Lumian said with a sigh.
The "Magician" Lady glanced around and made a joke:
"You seemed really tense just now. We've been talking for so long, and you didn't even remember to ask me to sit down."
"Yes, the Whirlpool of the ' School of Truth ' clearly involves higher-level forces. We will take over the follow-up investigation. Your main task is to find those key ' Person in the Mirror ' based on Moran Avigni's confession. I suspect that certain things in that Special Mirror World are an important part of the Whirlpool."
"This time, you've obtained some very crucial intelligence. We, the Major Arcana, won't be stingy with rewards. Of course, it'll be for your team, not you personally. How you distribute it is up to you."
Upon hearing the last sentence, Lumian suddenly seemed dazed, muttering to himself, "Again..."
Is this also a gift from Destiny?
"I can't say for sure it isn't," the "Magician" Lady chuckled self-deprecatingly. "Your mental and physical condition is better than I expected, not to the point where you need further treatment. But you seem to be suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder called ' Destiny's Gift,' seeing everything as an arrangement, everything as a gift from Destiny."
Before Lumian could respond, she added, "There's really nothing wrong with that. Being vigilant is a good thing, but don't put too much pressure on yourself. Your mind is like rubber; if you stretch it too tight, it will break. You can be vigilant about details, but you need to relax. Think about it, you can't really resist the arrangements anyway, so why make yourself sleep poorly, lose your appetite, and become more and more neurotic?"
"Hmm." Lumian had to admit that the "Magician" Lady made a lot of sense.
The Magician expressed satisfaction that he was able to regulate his own state.
"Of course, if you discover any arrangements that clearly have major problems, please inform me immediately by reciting the Honorific Name."
"This time, I'll include the ' Hunter ' Pathway Sequence 4 Potion Formula in the reward, making it easier for you to acquire items purposefully while exploring the ' Blue Avenger.' As for the rewards for ' Two of Cups,' ' Seven of Cups,' and ' Four of Swords,' I don't know yet; it mainly depends on what ' Judgement ' and ' Hermit ' will offer."
Lumian had no objection to this arrangement. Even if the "Magician" Lady didn't mention it, or thought that the information related to the Whirlpool and the "Person in the Mirror" wasn't worth Half-God- level Potion Formula, he would still ask her to give it to him first, and make up for the shortfall later.
With his condition having calmed down considerably, Lumian thought of a question:
"Lady, Mr. K from the ' Aurora Order ' has already spoken about my contributions before the Statue of the ' True Creator,' requesting that He list me as a candidate Divine Emissary. If any official Divine Emissary suffers a calamity, I will be the first choice to replace them. At that time, will I really become a Mr. from the ' Aurora Order '?"
"In addition, Mr. K promised a material reward in the next few days."
The "Magician" nodded slightly and said, "' The Aurora Order's' organizational structure is quite peculiar. Although the Divine Emissary have direct Saint, most of Divine Emissary can directly hear That One voices, murmurs, and instructions of That One That One, thus possessing a high degree of autonomy. In most matters, they still obey the orders of their direct Saint and report to them, but there are a few things that completely bypass their superiors, such as recommending candidates for Divine Emissary Envoys."
"God's Messenger can only come from divine revelation."
After a few brief remarks, the "Magician" chuckled and said, "As long as you've verified that there aren't any major problems, feel free to accept the material rewards. You've already received enough; a little more wouldn't make any real difference."
"I don't think the idea of you becoming a divine Divine Emissary will come up. The Divine Emissary of the ' Aurora Order ' all have fixed missionary territories. How can that compare to having you run around everywhere, triggering all sorts of Evil God threats? It'll definitely help you digest the Potion, uh..."
At this point, the "Magician's" expression gradually became strange.
Lumian didn't rush to ask, waiting for the holder of the Major Arcana to explain.
After a few seconds, the "Magician" maintained that expression and said hesitantly, "Perhaps, That One original plan was for you to be a certain Mr. for a period of time."
"Sequence 4 of the ' Hunter ' Pathway is called ' Iron-Blooded Knight,' which can turn all users into Men. Its Ritual requires 'forming a team of at least thirty people, training them for a long time so that they can understand your meaning based on your eyes and actions, becoming almost one with each other. The higher the strength and tacit understanding of the team, the better the effect of the Ritual.' Think about it, what is the most prominent characteristic of the ' Aurora Order '? It's fanaticism."
"Once you assume the role of Mr. So-and-so, you will inevitably have your own jurisdiction and a large number of subordinates. They are all very enthusiastic and will completely obey your orders as the Messenger of the Deity. With just a little training, they can meet the requirements of the Ritual. Your only concern is how to improve their strength and teamwork to make the Ritual more effective."
This... The original plan was for me to become Divine Emissary after I finished digesting the ' Reaper ' Potion, so that I could assemble a team to complete the Ritual in the shortest possible time? How am I supposed to complete this Ritual now? Franca and the others are fine, but there are too few of them... Lumian couldn't help but frown.
Seeing this, the "Magician" Lady chuckled and said, "The Church of Knowledge of the ' Hunter ' Pathway, which is very familiar to the Church, provides another option."
"Of course, that's on the condition that you can tame Ludwig; the Angel-Level can offset most of the quantitative requirements."
"Angel-Level?" Lumian finally obtained information about Ludwig's power level from the "Magician" Lady.
"Yes." The "Magician" Lady didn't elaborate further.
Tame Ludwig? All I can do now is "buy" him, simply command him... Lumian fell into deep thought.
The "Magician" Lady glanced at him and said, "You can wait until you've digested the ' Reaper ' Potion and been to the ' Banishment City ' Morola before considering which method to use to fulfill the requirements of the Ritual."
"Yes, we'll discuss the follow-up to the Whirlpool incident via correspondence."
Lumian nodded, watching as the "Magician" Lady vanished into thin air before his eyes.
As he gazed at the gradually unfolding edge of darkness, he closed his eyes and recalled everything he had seen and heard that day.
His hands unconsciously clenched, Blazing White Flames leaped from his fists, Burning fiercely.
Jenna sat quietly on the Armchair in the living room, waiting for Lumian to open the door and come out, while the sounds of gnawing and chewing came from the Restaurant area.
Lumian, carrying the half-finished bottle of Absinthe, went onto the balcony, sat down in a chair, and gulped down a mouthful.
Jenna approached him quietly, observed him for a few seconds, and said, "You're feeling much better."
"You can tell that from that?" Lumian said casually without turning his head.
Jenna pulled up a chair and sat down, chuckling, "Your current quiet and reserved demeanor makes me feel much more at ease than your previous excited and talkative behavior."
Lumian gazed at the Evernight outside the balcony, remaining silent for a long time, and Jenna did not ask any questions either.
Suddenly, Lumian said in a low voice, "I see that Lizard- like Elf."
Jenna had heard him talk about some things in Cordou Village and understood what this meant. She said with slight surprise, "Didn't you go to the ' Aurora Order ' to see Mr. K? How could... that Lizard- like little Elf be related to the ' Aurora Order '?"
"From the That One they believe in." Lumian's voice seemed to be squeezed from the Depths of Darkness.
"No wonder..." Jenna suddenly understood Lumian's previous state, "Lady ' Judgement ' said that the That One worshipped by the ' Aurora Order ' is close in rank to Mr. ' The Fool '..."
That is not something mortals can look directly at, let alone seek revenge against!
After a brief silence, Jenna said with a hint of realization, "You just went to see the ' Magician ' Lady?"
"Your brain has grown quite a bit after drinking the ' Witch ' Potion, hasn't it?" Lumian glanced at Jenna.
"Can't you ' Hunter ' just talk properly?" Jenna couldn't help but retort.
She paused for a moment, then asked, "What did ' Magician ' Lady say?"
"Let's be patient for now, and consider what to do next once Mr. ' The Fool ' begins to awaken," Lumian replied simply.
Jenna hummed in agreement, momentarily at a loss for words.
After a moment, she stood up, went to Ludwig's table in the Restaurant, took a wine glass to the balcony, then snatched the bottle of Absinthe from Lumian's hand and poured herself a third of it.
Glug! Jenna had just taken a sip of the shimmering, dreamy green liquid when her face instinctively scrunched up.
"Cough cough, how can you people like to drink Absinthe? It tastes awful!" As a former "Exaggerated Woman," Jenna had drunk a lot of alcohol, but she still couldn't stand the taste of Absinthe.
Lumian scoffed without offering any explanation.
Jenna casually remarked, "I once read a book by a writer—I can't remember his name—who said that some people who like to drink Absinthe use it to pretend they have experiences, while others use it to relive their own experiences..."
Lumian, picked up the bottle, and gulped down another mouthful.
The slightly burning liquor slid down my throat, leaving a familiar bitter taste.
