Entering
Lumian activated the Black Mark on his right shoulder and "Teleportation" to the boundless Cemetery, "Teleportation" to the entrance of the Underground Mausoleum.
This place seems to have been built into the mouth of some kind of giant beast, with Gray-White stone steps extending from the mouth all the way down into the dark Depths of the esophagus.
Lumian suspects that Julie has already entered the Underground Mausoleum.
Regardless of the Witch Sect's plan, it will inevitably lead them to the "0-01" sealed Depths within the Underground Mausoleum!
Lumian tried to discern the scents of the entrance area, but could only smell the aromas of Grass, trees, and post-rain soil; he couldn't detect any lingering fragrance from Julie.
At the same time, he examined the Gray-White stone steps at the bottom, which were shrouded in darkness, looking for fresh footprints—there had just been a long rainstorm with thunder and lightning.
"There's no trace of Zhu and Tu Shuli being here..." Lumian turned his body to the side, transforming into a Blazing White Flame Spear, and whooshed across a distance of over a hundred meters, landing on the side of the Knowledge Church.
He didn't take a detour, but opened the nearest Stained-Glass Window, jumped into the Church, and ran up to Heraberg, who was wearing a plain white Robe with brass threads.
"Your Archbishop, do you know which room Sallys is staying in?" Lumian's breathing remained even, but his speech was quite rapid.
Archbishop of Morola Heraberg of Morola smiled and replied, "The Third Floor, the room closest to the Cemetery, the one where you can see the entrance to the Mausoleum."
Lumian was taken aback for a moment:
Uh, you already know that...
He didn't waste any more time asking questions. Blazing White Flames erupted from his body once more, leaving a dazzling trail of light as he flew into the stairwell like a javelin.
After several twists and turns, Lumian arrived at the room of Sallys, the "Witch".
He reached out and grasped the brass Handle, gently turned it, and pushed open the Wooden Door.
The room was very clean and tidy, with nothing superfluous except a single Single Bed, a Desk, a chair, and a shelf for books and miscellaneous items, giving it a Monastery -like austere feel.
"Sure enough, Sallys is missing too..." Lumian confirmed his judgment.
He didn't immediately enter the room; he sensed it was filled with invisible, Pathogens- laden spiderwebs, like the nest of a highly venomous spider.
As Lumian prepared to burn away the things invisible to the naked eye, he began to observe further.
He discovered that Sallys, perhaps to Acting a Corruption Experimental Subjects, had left nothing in the room other than necessities. Now, with her disappearance, even her black robe was gone, leaving the room empty. The most striking thing was a Mirror placed near the window on the Desk.
The Mirror was a very common Dressing Mirror, so it was quite reasonable for it to appear in a "Witch's" room.
But Lumian made a connection with this:
"Did Sallys leave through the Mirror World?"
"The Law Enforcement Team always come and go in groups; it's highly unlikely she would gamble on the Church of Knowledge turning a blind eye and swagger out of the Church alone..."
Will she and Julie meet somewhere in the Mirror World?
"Did Julie and Sallys use the Mirror World to get to the Underground Mausoleum? That's why there's no trace of Underground Mausoleum entrance area?"
With this in mind, Lumian's mind once again conjured up a web of thoughts composed of various pieces of information and different ideas.
He quickly made a guess:
"Did Sallys patrol the Underground Mausoleum several times as Experimental Subjects, replacing the Soldier Puppets, in order to place Mirror at different key points, or to obtain the coordinates of similar Mirror Object?"
"When I used the ' Mirror Buckle ' before, I couldn't determine which Mirror were in the Underground Mausoleum, nor could I tell if they posed any hidden dangers..."
"This is the preparation work of the Witch Sect. Now that Sallys has mastered the world made of Mirror within the Underground Mausoleum, can we officially take action?"
Why not start immediately after she finishes her last shift?
"Do we need a few days to make other preparations?"
Thoughts raced through his mind, Lumian said in a low voice, "Termiboros, do you think I should go into the Underground Mausoleum now, or continue studying and hope that Julie and Sallys fail to achieve their goal?"
Before Termiboros could respond, Lumian chuckled and said, "I will not place my hopes on someone else's failure."
He has made his decision.
That is to go to the Underground Mausoleum to sabotage and stop the Witch Sect's actions, hoping to buy them a few more days!
The only problem was that once he was in the Underground Mausoleum, he had to be blindfolded, so he couldn't use his free time to read books and continue his studies.
I wonder if there's any way to convert text into sound... Aurora's Warlock Notes records some related ideas and preliminary experimental results, but unfortunately I'm not a "Warlock"... Lumian had just sighed inwardly when he heard Termiboros, who hadn't spoken for a long time, utter a magnificent, layered voice:
That's very dangerous.
He actually answered me... Was this guy's answer well-intentioned, or was it a conspiracy? He only pointed out the danger, without offering strong advice... Whatever, whether Termiboros opposes my going or intends to Temptation me, I will go... Lumian quickly calmed himself down, chuckled, and said, "Perhaps we will both become Marionette of '0-01'."
"Not me," Termiboros replied in a deep, resonant voice.
Is that so? Lumian transformed into Flame Spear once more and swiftly returned to the Church hall.
He approached Heraberg, took out three books, and said with a forced smile, "Your Archbishop, I still have two and a half books to finish reading. Do you have a way to convert the remaining knowledge into audio information so that I can study while exploring the Underground Mausoleum?"
The wrinkles on Heraberg's face gradually smoothed out, and his features became increasingly gentle.
"Good, good, that's exactly the kind of learning attitude we need."
He took out a Brass Sheet and accepted the book from Lumian's hand.
Countless symbols and words suddenly Whirlpool within his amber eyes.
Lumian saw tiny glimmers of light rise from the three books, densely packed together, converging into a river that surged powerfully into the Brass Sheet.
What kind of secret technique is this...? Lumian was a little stunned.
Before coming to Lenburg, he made a point of gathering detailed information about the Church of Knowledge from various sources, including some information about the "Reader" Pathway.
As far as he knew, the Sequence 5 of the "Reader" Pathway was called "Mystic Mentor," which allowed one to invent and create unique spells.
Soon, the faint light disappeared, the Brass Sheet became much smoother, and the symbols and patterns on the surface became more three-dimensional.
With two snapping sounds, Heraberg broke off two corners from the Brass Sheet and kneaded them into a straight cylindrical shape.
Lumian's mouth slowly opened:
Without the aid of Flames, I think it would be quite difficult to break two pieces of brass apart with just your bare hands, let alone try to mold them like clay with your fingers...
Your Archbishop, Pathway your "Reader" this violent, or are you special as Puppet? Those two fingers of yours could grind my bones to dust...
Or is this a side effect of the secret technique?
"Put them in your ears. The activation Incantation is the Ancient Hermetic 'Vocabulary hear,' which I know is the only language you speak, and you haven't quite mastered Giantish and Elvish yet. The deactivation Incantation is 'stop.'" Heraberg handed Lumian the Brass Sheet and two straight Brass Earpiece.
Lumian instinctively retorted, "I also understand Hermetic."
He understood that Archbishop Heraberg was referring to languages that could invoke supernatural powers.
"Hermetic?" Heraberg chuckled.
Lumian sensed contempt in his laughter and expression—contempt for Hermetic.
Time was of the essence, so Lumian didn't ask any more questions. After putting on a Brass Earpiece and putting away the rest of his things, he immediately transformed into a Burning Blazing White Flame Spear and flew from the open Stained Glass window to the entrance area of Underground Mausoleum.
Lumian calmed his breathing and took out a Carbide Lamp and white Bandage from the "Traveler’s Bag".
After turning on the Carbide Lamp, he wrapped Bandage Entanglement his head and blindfolded himself.
Lumian's vision gradually darkened, and he could see nothing at all.
For Hunter who rely heavily on their eyes, this is definitely not a good experience.
Lumian fumbled for the Carbide Lamp and carefully descended the Gray-White stone steps of the entrance area.
He struggled to maintain his balance, worried that he might slip and tumble into the Underground Mausoleum like a wheel.
He wasn't afraid of getting hurt, but rather afraid of accidentally extinguishing the Carbide Lamp in his Handle.
"Being blind must be awful..." Lumian muttered to himself as he constructed a three-dimensional map in his mind.
The map's content is mostly derived from the sealed data of "0-01" and the book "Examples of Underground Mausoleum Construction," with a small portion originating from scenes in my Nightmare over the past two days.
With the help of his mental map and his superhuman hearing, Sense of Smell, and body control, Lumian gradually adapted to the darkness and became more and more stable as he walked.
Finally, he climbed the stairs and officially entered the Underground Mausoleum.
He felt the surrounding darkness surge in like a tide, corroding his skin, bringing a chilling Chill and a slow loss of life.
Almost simultaneously, the palm of his right hand became ice-cold.
The abnormal, uncontrollable loss of vitality then disappeared.
"The ' Underworld Daoist ' mark has been activated?" Lumian murmured thoughtfully to himself. "In this situation, even without my lit Carbide Lamp, I shouldn't run into any trouble in the darkness of the Mausoleum. Hehe, later when I encounter Julie and the others, I can try to use the ' Hunter's' ability to influence Flames to extinguish their Hurricane Lantern directly. But Julie has something special, and Sallys probably does too; they might not be easily swallowed by the darkness..."
Blindfolded, Lumian turned left and right, using the partially activated Black Mark on his right shoulder to sense where the "Abscessed Severed Hand" head was.
He planned to find this thing first, and then stop Julie and Sallys.
Then he could throw the separately stored "Abscessed Severed Hand" body parts together and see what Mutation would occur, giving the enemy a "surprise".
Perhaps because they were both in the same Underground Mausoleum, Lumian quickly sensed the call of the Severed-Hand Brother's Corpse and that special connection.
It's nearby!
