"A good review"
After returning to Room 2303 with the painting, Jenna asked Franca:
"Should we have Lumian contact Stiano? He should be very interested in how to handle these kinds of paintings."
The previous Self-Portrait Sketch Rosanne could not be deleted after being photographed, but this Cliffside Bridge cannot be photographed.
Franca considered for a few seconds, then smiled and said, "This is one of the backup plans, but not the first choice."
"All we know for now is that Stiano is interested in Mysticism photos that can be circulated online and cannot be deleted. We are unsure whether he has any desire to study paintings that cannot be uploaded to the internet. Moreover, always owing someone a favor, especially too many favors, may not be a good thing. He will always pay it back in the future; there is no such thing as a free lunch."
"It's similar to taking out small loans; it should be done in moderation and appropriately, with the intention of repaying from the beginning."
Using the analogy of Microloan, Jenna immediately accepted Franca's explanation.
"So what do we do?" she asked.
Franca's smile brightened:
"Wait until dawn, after the morning rush hour, then take this painting to the Star Dream General Store."
"Huh?" Jenna was a little confused by Franca's train of thought.
Franca, who had read extensively before her Transmigration and always had an open mind, chuckled softly, "When you get to the Star Dream General Store, ask the Shop Owner if they accept items with Mysticism elements and how much they'll offer."
"If He is willing to buy it, this painting probably won't come back on its own."
Could it really be like this? Jenna thought about it carefully and actually felt that it was somewhat feasible:
Based on the premise that only the True God can enter Mr. The Fool's Dream, except for those who possess the medium or have a special connection, and the details such as the way to contact the Major Arcana being to send a letter to the Senior Deacon of the Church the Goddess of Evernight at the Star Dream General Store, and the Gloom environment of the Star Dream General Store itself, Lumian's team could actually guess That One Shop Owner's identity in reality, but they all tacitly kept quiet about it.
If the Shop Owner agrees to buy this strange painting, it means that He absolutely has a way to control the anomaly and truly transfer ownership to His hands.
Besides, isn't it perfectly normal for a general store specializing in Mysticism elements to acquire items with Mysticism elements?
Jenna pondered for a few seconds before saying, "What if the Shop Owner doesn't want to buy it?"
"Then ask him if we can consign this painting to his shop. We'll pay a storage fee and a share of the profits; it's like paying him to handle the anomaly," Franca said with a smile. "If he still doesn't agree, then go through Lumian to find Stiano. If Stiano refuses, then during the day, find an opportunity to dump the painting at the Police Headquarters. Remember to keep your identity Concealment."
At this point, Franca's expression suddenly turned serious:
"My spiritual intuition and Mysticism experience tell me that your process of dealing with this painting will not be smooth and will be dangerous. If the danger is great, you should voluntarily exit the Dream. You will have two more chances later. There is no need to risk your life now."
"Yes." Jenna nodded solemnly.
Afterwards, she and Franca entered that strange space again and found Rosanne once again guarding the semi-transparent Barrier, in quite good condition.
Franca revealed herself to be a colleague and chatted with Rosanne, learning more about Zhou Mingrui's situation and which employees in various departments of the Intis Group were worth paying attention to.
Franca and Jenna were very satisfied with the outcome of the conversation, feeling that saving Rosanne was not only a choice based on feelings and stance, but also a very correct decision in completing the mission.
The information they gleaned from Rosanne, if gathered slowly by Franca and Lumian, would likely take one or two months to collect.
"We'll need your help with how to convince Zhou Mingrui that he's the Future Savior," Franca said to Rosanne with a forced smile. "We can't just tell him the truth directly; he definitely won't believe us."
"Absolutely no one would believe that. No normal person would believe it; they'd just think it's a prank or a scam." Rosanne nodded, then added softly, "I don't completely believe it myself either..."
Franca pretended not to hear Rosanne's mutterings and changed the subject.
When dawn broke and she automatically left that strange space, Franca got out of bed, took out the clothes she would wear that day from the closet, and looked very serious.
Before Jenna could speak, she said, "You're quite likely to encounter danger or something unusual today, so you should dress more practically."
Jenna nodded gently, without refusing.
Franca quickly finished washing up, took off her Pajamas, and slowly changed her clothes while muttering, "After I became a ' Witch ' and got used to it, I sometimes feel proud and happy when people stare at me on the street. I think I'm really Charm. Maybe this is a manifestation of a ' Witch's ' narcissism."
"But doing something willingly is different from being forced to do it by others, and you won't like it if you're not used to it. It's like when I was in school, the school always required us to wear school uniforms on Monday, and there were always some rebellious teenagers in every class who didn't like it and would rather accept punishment..."
Franca rambled on, as if trying to distract herself and lessen her shame.
She bent over, awkwardly putting on the most conservative nude stockings, slipping her feet into brand new low-heeled shoes, then stood up and, using the Full-Length Mirror embedded in the wardrobe, straightened Lady blouse and light gray skirt that almost reached her knees.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Franca pursed her lips, feeling rather complicated.
Jenna watched without saying a word.
After putting on makeup that made her look uglier, Franca tied up her long hair, put on her glasses, grabbed a high-quality counterfeit handbag, and walked steadily toward the door.
Just before leaving, she turned back and smiled at Jenna, "Thank you for not saying 'You look beautiful in this outfit,' or 'You really suit this look.' But you did look a little stunning just now, which made me feel a bit better."
"Yes," Jenna replied with an affirmative smile.
Franca waved and walked out of the room.
"What a good person who can regulate their emotions and is also very optimistic..." Jenna sighed, then looked away and patiently waited for the morning rush hour to Past.
Around nine o'clock, she left Building Five carrying the painting and went to the community lobby.
She chose to take a Ride-Hailing Car to the Star Dream General Store instead of taking the Metro and then a bus. She was afraid that the unusual nature of the painting would affect more people. In that case, the hidden dangers might not harm her, but the widespread commotion would bring even more serious problems.
After a while, Jenna walked out of the lobby and came to the roadside, where she saw a white car waiting for her.
After opening the car door with one hand, she glanced at the driver's seat and confirmed that the driver was not wearing Monocle and had no other obvious characteristics. She was not a person she knew, and her spiritual intuition was not triggered.
Jenna sat in the back row, placed the painting on her lap, and held it in front of her.
After verifying the last four digits of the phone number, the driver started the vehicle.
Jenna was highly focused, vigilantly guarding against any possible accidents.
Suddenly, she felt her breathing become difficult, but there was nothing unusual around her.
It's as if another version of her was pushed into the sea, and the feeling of drowning was transmitted through Mysticism connection.
Without hesitation, Jenna took out a Mirror, plucked two strands of hair, tried to stick them to the Mirror surface, and burned them with the "Witch's" Black Flame.
She was performing a Black Magic related to "Mirror Substitute," trying to actively transfer that Mysticism connection to the Mirror.
Just then, Jenna began to hallucinate, seeing gently rippling turquoise water and her own hands flailing uncontrollably, as if struggling to break free of the water.
However, a force was pulling her from her legs, trying to drag her towards the Seabed.
Almost simultaneously, a Paleness, swollen hand appeared out of nowhere and covered her mouth.
"Ugh, ugh, ugh..."
"Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle..."
Jenna showed obvious signs of drowning; her nose, airways, and lungs became extremely uncomfortable.
She wanted to use the substitutes, but she couldn't sense the Mirror. She and they seemed to be separated into different worlds, even their Mysticism connection had been severed.
Suddenly, streams of quiet Black Flame flowed from Jenna's eyes, nostrils, mouth, ears, and other places. These Black Flame burned her body from the inside out, burning away everything intangible that tried to affect her.
Beyond the Black Flame, Frost condensed, sealing Jenna within a thick Orb of ice and snow.
On the surface of the Orb, countless Unseen Spider Silk retracted, layer upon layer, and Entanglement to form a giant "Cocoon".
Jenna was finally free from the Pain of nearly drowning, but she still couldn't sense her own body or her substitute.
The next second, she found herself walking on a bridge.
On the other side of the bridge are steep cliffs and a dark forest at the far end of the cliffs.
"I've entered that painting?" Jenna tried to turn around, return to the starting point of the bridge, and escape the Painted World from the entrance, but she couldn't control her body and watched helplessly as "she" continued forward along the bridge.
At that moment, two people emerged from the Black Forest.
One was the sinister-looking Rosanne, and the other was Jenna herself.
Jenna herself, with her Fascination smile!
Snap!
The bridge suddenly collapsed, Jenna plummeted into a bottomless Abyss of darkness.
Overwhelmed by immense fear and Despair, Jenna's consciousness rapidly blurred, leaving her unable to save herself.
She could almost see herself smashed into bloody, mangled pieces.
Before her consciousness completely succumbed to darkness, before the unimaginable pain arrived, she mustered her last bit of lucidity and tried to break free from the Dream.
But that didn't work.
It's no use!
It's no use... Jenna's gaze suddenly froze.
She didn't give up; she was still trying to save herself. She gritted her teeth and tried her best to regain control of her body in order to use the "Witch's" Featherfall Technique.
Just then, a ray of Sunlight pierced the dark Abyss, illuminating the high cliff.
The entire scene before Jenna's eyes shattered instantly in the bright Sunlight, falling apart into pieces.
She suddenly opened her eyes and found herself still sitting in the car, holding the painting in her arms.
"We've arrived," the driver said, turning slightly to remind Jenna.
"We're here already?" Jenna felt like she had been walking in a sweltering environment for a whole morning; her clothes were soaked with sweat.
She looked out the window with a slightly blank expression and saw the Star Dream General Store.
Jenna instinctively pushed open the door and got out of the car, wanting to rush into the shop to avoid any further anomalies that might follow.
"Remember to give me a good review!" the driver called out to her retreating figure.
Jenna instinctively turned her body to the side and looked back at the driver.
The driver smiled and pulled out a Crystal Monocle from somewhere, putting it on his right eye.
