A peaceful night
Jenna tensed up instantly and decided to Soothing Lumian-na and not give her the chance to go to the Mushu Hospital until Lumian returned around 7 or 8 pm the next night.
She looked at Lumian-na and said sincerely, "The investigation into the hotpot restaurant shooting is not over yet. If you go to the Mushu Hospital, you will likely be taken to the Police Station. Even if the Police can prove that you have nothing to do with Zarathustra's death, it will take a long time, and you will be detained for at least several days, which will cause you to lose your job."
Upon hearing the phrase "losing her job," Lumian-na showed a faint expression of fear.
"Yeah, I need to hide for a couple of days. After that, I should be fine going to work disguised as a man."
She had already been instilled with the idea by Jenna that she was a woman disguised as a man working as Security Guard.
Jenna didn't dare relax. She glanced at the curtains blocking the bright moonlight and said to Lumian-na, "We can't go to the Mushu Hospital, but we can go to the Rooftop to get some fresh air and relax."
"Okay." An irrepressible smile appeared on Lumian-na's clean and clear face.
Jenna first fixed the door lock, then led Lumian-na out of Room 2303 and onto the rooftop via the elevator and stairs.
Throughout the process, she concealed a Mirror in each hand to reflect light, create illusions, and obscure her and Lumian-na's figures to avoid detection by the surveillance cameras.
Feeling the cool breeze that followed the night's heat, Lumian-na half-closed her eyes and took two deep breaths.
She then walked to the railing at the edge of the rooftop, pointed to the top, and asked Jenna for her opinion:
May I sit on it?
"It's too dangerous for a normal person, but it's okay for you. You have excellent balance, even better than Actor." Jenna wasn't afraid of Lumian-na falling; she was capable of rescuing her. So, she wanted to test whether Lumian-na would truly possess superhuman strength if the loophole hadn't been patched and she kept implying to Lumian-na that she had abilities beyond those of Ordinary Person.
Lumian-na braced her hands on the top of the railing, nimbly leaped up, and prepared to sit down.
Suddenly, her hand slipped, she lost her balance, and was about to fall hundreds of meters below.
Just then, she felt several invisible ropes pulling her, helping her to steady herself.
"Phew, that scared me to death..." She turned to the side, looked at Jenna had already sat down next to her with the book, and patted her chest.
She felt that Jenna had pulled her back.
Jenna was using Unseen Spider Silk to lightly Entanglement Lumian-na for protection, realized she had overlooked something:
This guy is still suffering from the Negative Effect of the "Ring of Restraint," and even if he gains excellent balance based on his own suggestion, he will still fail due to bad luck.
"Be careful," Jenna specifically reminded her.
Lumian-na hummed in agreement and nodded gently.
She glanced down at the lit roads inside the residential area for a few seconds, then looked up at the bright moon high in the sky.
The brilliance of the moon and the light Corruption from the city obscured the Stars.
Lumian-na leaned against the top of the railing, gazing intently at the Moon.
After an unknown amount of time, she suddenly said to herself, "I've remembered a line of poetry."
She didn't turn her head or look at Jenna; she kept gazing at the bright moon high in the sky.
"What poem?" Jenna enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the moment.
Lumian-na remained gazing into the distance, her voice slightly ethereal as she said, "I raise my head to gaze at the bright moon, then lower it to think of my Homeland."
In a conference room at the Police Headquarters, the lights were still on Late Night.
Standing in front of the whiteboard, Lunshengde pointed to two photos and said, "We can make a judgment: this case involves supernatural forces. The murderer, or rather the criminal gang, can utilize Mirror and the Mirror World behind them."
The two photos show a broken Mirror in the changing room and a shattered Glass Window in the box where the deceased was located.
Officer Dunn, seated below, nodded slightly, signaling for Lunshengde to continue:
"Therefore, during the corresponding time period, those who were not in the hot pot restaurant's main hall, did not have a seat, and were not under surveillance are all suspects and need to be further investigated."
"They likely went to a blind spot in the surveillance, used Mirror they carried to sneak back into the hot pot restaurant's lobby, and waited for the deceased to return from the Mirror World. If the deceased returned, they would deliver the fatal blow; if not, it meant their accomplices had succeeded."
Dunn raised his hand and pointed out the flaw in Lunshengde's reasoning:
"It's also possible that it's been lurking behind a Mirror or a Glass Window all along, and hasn't appeared in the lobby of the Shujin Renjia Hot Pot Restaurant before."
"Judging from how well this group utilizes the Mirror World, they didn't need to send someone to wait in the hot pot restaurant lobby beforehand while they ate hot pot. They could have simply waited until the time was right, or received a signal, before sneaking into the Mirror World from a distance and arriving at the designated assassination location. You see, the woman who walked out of the screen with Zarathustra wasn't even in the lobby before."
After saying that, Dunn raised his palm and sniffed the tobacco tucked into his Pipe.
"Yes," Lunshengde admitted that the Team Leader was right, "But we also need to investigate those who left the hot pot restaurant lobby during that time period but were not Recording by the surveillance cameras in the corresponding state at the time of the incident."
"Remove that last condition," Dunn said after a couple of seconds of thought. "People who can use the Mirror World can also deceive surveillance cameras. You see, surveillance cameras rely on optical principles to Recording, while those who control Mirror are adept at manipulating light and creating optical illusions."
After Lunshengde nodded, Dunn turned to Li En and said, "Tell me the preliminary investigation results."
Li En stood up and took Lunshengde's place:
"We have used Dream interrogation on seventeen people so far, and they have not noticed anything unusual."
Rosanne: I was shocked and couldn't believe Zarathustra's death.
Zhou Mingrui: He was very wary of Zarathustra, but he also did not anticipate Zarathustra's death.
Luo Fu: She went out of the hall and into the women's restroom. There were no security cameras in the restroom, but she was also surprised by Zarathustra's death and was clearly frightened.
"Initially, these three were listed as key targets for investigation because they were all employees of the Intis Group and might have been instructed by certain powerful figures within the Intis Group who did not want the merger and restructuring to assassinate Zarathustra at the Shujin Renjia Hot Pot Restaurant and disrupt the ongoing business negotiations. However, they were unaware that Huang Tao and Zarathustra were also in the Shujin Renjia Hot Pot Restaurant, and that Rosanne and Zhou Mingrui had not left the lobby at all..."
The initial conclusion is that they are fine.
Dunn agreed, and Lunshengde said nothing.
After a thorough discussion of the case, Dunn stood up and addressed his subordinates. "There are two key points now. First, investigate the remaining suspects, including those mentioned by Lunshengde and those with substantial motives. Second, find the Women who emerged from the screen with Zarathustra. Although she didn't attack Zarathustra, the fact that she emerged from the screen is itself noteworthy."
"Yes, Team Leader." Officers Lunshengde, Li En, and others stood up and responded.
Dunn smiled, then said seriously, "This involves foreign guests and major business activities. You've worked hard. I'll go report to Director Ya now."
After gazing at the Moon for almost half an hour and enjoying the night breeze for almost half an hour, Jenna led Lumian-na back to Room 2303.
"Rest, you're not fully recovered yet," Jenna said, pointing to the bedroom.
Wearing a nightgown, Lumian-na opened the door and entered the bedroom, only to find that the sick Franca had woken up sometime during her absence.
"Are you feeling any better now?" Franca had already learned from Jenna via WeChat what the two of them had done outside.
Lumian-na looked at Franca and nodded with mixed emotions:
"Much better."
Her emotions were complicated because she remembered that she and Luo Fu were also Couple.
This did not affect her and Jenna's Couple.
I thought I was just an ordinary yuri... How come the yuri community is so chaotic? Am I really such a terrible woman? Lumian-na sat down on the edge of the bed and said to Franca, "Go to sleep, I have to go to work tomorrow."
Security Guard work on rotating shifts.
Franca looked at Lumian-na and smiled, saying, "You forgot? You took two days off, Friday and Saturday, and your director Green, approved them both."
Lumian-na blinked:
"Oh right... I forgot, no wonder I don't have to work the afternoon shift today, and I can go straight to Shujin Renjia this evening..."
Looking at Lumian-na like this, Franca suddenly found her a bit adorable and naive.
After the two of them fell asleep in the bedroom, Jenna also lay down on the sofa, closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep.
After a while, her Astral Body arrived in Rosanne's Shaman World and saw That One girl still guarding the semi-transparent Barrier, having repelled the Monster ' new attack.
Jenna caught a glimpse of Franca's Astral Body out of the corner of her eye; she was wandering aimlessly like everyone else around her.
This indicates that Franca's consciousness entered and then exited due to illness.
Next, Jenna discovered Lumian-na's Astral Body, which also lacked a clear mind.
"She really isn't Beyonder..." Just as Jenna had this thought, she suddenly realized something.
Rosanne should know by now!
It's difficult to hide anything from Shaman within her "Territory."
The next second, Jenna saw Rosanne turn halfway around and say to her, "Zarathustra?"
Rosanne had seen Lumian-na's Astral Body, and the beautiful woman who had stepped off the screen alongside Zarathustra.
"Yes, I didn't tell you before because I was worried the Police might have special methods to confirm if you were lying," Jenna explained.
Rosanne asked in confusion:
"Isn't Luo Fu afraid of being caught lying?"
"She underwent hypnosis beforehand," Jenna said without hiding anything.
Rosanne fell silent, and after several seconds, she asked in a low, unusually difficult voice, "Is... is this really a Dream?"
