Ch. 681Tomb

Robert was captured after Camus and Riya cornered him, while Amandina questioned Priest Kali in a dream about the tomb, his powers, and his connection to Tevanaco. The dream began collapsing just as Priest Kali revealed he had prayed to a devil.

  • Riya paralyzed Robert with a lightning arrow, and Camus used Whip of Pain to knock him unconscious and capture him.
  • Lugano removed the bullet from Amandina's shoulder and healed the wound.
  • Priest Kali told Amandina that the black stone was an ancient tomb guarded by jungle elders, and that Tevanaco had brought him there to gain Beyonder powers.
  • Priest Kali explained that he gained his powers by touching an icy hand inside the tomb, then concealed them by touching the black boulder.
  • Priest Kali said Tevanaco had helped him seduce Robert by arousing his desires and weakening his self-control.
  • Priest Kali began confessing that he had prayed to a devil when the dream shook and started collapsing.

Ch. 682Harvest

Lumian killed Priest Kali with a Harvest-infused purification bullet and learned more about the Dream Festival, the black tomb, and the powers Robert and Amandina had received. He persuaded Robert to help with a task at Tevanaco’s house, while a man at the Briu Inn fled after sensing terrifying malice.

  • Lumian used Harvest with a purification bullet to burn Priest Kali to ashes, advancing the digestion of his Reaper potion.
  • Amandina recounted how Priest Kali had used a devil’s power to control Robert and others, and said Robert had gained his Spirit Medium abilities by touching the black stone.
  • Lumian suspected the cold corpse in the black tomb had granted Hisoka and Priest Kali their Wraith powers, and wondered where the tomb guardians went during the Dream Festival.
  • Lumian spared Robert and asked him to enter Tevanaco’s house and do something; Robert agreed after Lumian pointed out that Camus and Riya were Patrol Team members.
  • At the Briu Inn, a man in a dark gray suit fled after sensing terrifying malice and told a woman that he had felt his heart gouged out, his tongue torn off, and his brain churned into soup.

Ch. 683Dance

During the dream festival, Lumian and his companions returned to Tevanaco's house after discussing the awakened dead and the festival's dangers. Lumian used the Summoning Dance to draw a hooded spirit from beneath the house, then asked Robert to perform spiritism on it.

  • Lumian led Camus, Amandina, Robert, and the others past the cemetery, where they saw peaceful skeletons and dust-like phantoms beside damaged graves.
  • Amandina explained that the dream festival ended near dawn, that it could not normally be left early, and why she did not return to protect her parents at Palm Manor.
  • Lumian questioned Robert about spiritism in the dream festival, then brought the group back to Tevanaco's house.
  • Lumian performed the Dancer's Summoning Dance in Hisoka's bedroom to attract entities connected to the ancient tomb beneath the house.
  • A hooded shadow appeared on the window, sensed the seals and residual aura around Lumian, and refrained from possessing him.
  • When Robert and the others arrived, Lumian stopped dancing and told Robert to perform spiritism on the shadow.

Ch. 684Two answers

Lumian questioned the shadow possessing Robert and learned that the Tevanaco family had died after being influenced to perform a ritual, while the Gravekeepers had hidden when the Dream Festival began. After Robert drove the spirit away, Lumian prepared to visit the Black Ancient Tomb with Amandina, Camus, Riya, and Lugano.

  • Lumian used Moon Essential Oil during Louis Berri's ritual dance, and the shadow possessed Robert as the dance ended.
  • Lumian questioned Robert and learned that the Tevanaco family had been influenced to perform a ritual and that the Gravekeepers had hidden when the tomb chamber opened.
  • Lumian connected the family’s deaths and the house’s strange qualities to the Black Ancient Tomb and the Norse Family’s devil, and resolved to watch for the devil’s minions.
  • Robert struggled to end the Spiritism, then used his blood and an Ancient Hermetic command to drive the shadow away.
  • Lumian failed to summon Madam Magician’s messenger in the dream, then asked who would take him to the Black Monolith; Amandina volunteered, and Lumian let Robert leave.
  • Lumian ordered Lugano to come along, and Camus and Riya agreed to join the trip to the Black Ancient Tomb.

Ch. 685Hallucinations

Lumian led Amandina, Camus, and Riya through the jungle toward the black ancient tomb, investigating Hisoka’s plans and the dream projection. Along the way they found Maislow dead, and as Amandina approached the tomb, her hallucinations grew stronger and revealed that she had once seen someone appear there.

  • Lumian followed Amandina into the jungle, intending to investigate the gold and the devil’s gift connected to Hisoka at the black ancient tomb.
  • Lumian smelled spiritually charged human blood and found Maislow’s corpse; Camus identified signs of an attack by death-domain powers.
  • Lumian suspected that Reyasa, a Death-pathway Beyonder who had disappeared with Maislow, might have been involved, and learned that Reyasa had recruited and trained Maislow.
  • The group continued toward the tomb, and Amandina began experiencing increasingly vivid hallucinations as they drew closer.
  • Amandina recalled that after touching the tomb previously, she had stayed awake and seen someone appear ahead of her.

Ch. 686Both illusion and reality

Lumian and his companions followed Amandina to the Black Ancient Tomb as her buried memories began to surface. When she remembered a mysterious figure granting her powers, the area shifted into overlapping dreamlike scenes, and Hisoka appeared among them.

  • Amandina reasoned that her hallucinations were awakening memories of events between touching the Black Ancient Tomb and gaining extraordinary powers, and Lumian suggested her Nightmare pathway might be stirring those memories.
  • Lumian led the group into hiding when they heard footsteps, and they watched Ivelista Aegis pass through the jungle toward the tomb.
  • The group reached the Black Ancient Tomb, where Amandina recalled a figure in a strange hat touching her head as he granted her powers.
  • The jungle fell into unnatural silence, and Amandina cried out that the figure had returned and was approaching her.
  • The surroundings trembled and blurred into dreamlike scenes of different people at the tomb, and Hisoka, Tevanaco, turned to smile at Lumian.

Ch. 687Feathered ascension

Lumian watched a mysterious figure move between dream fragments, triggering a feathered transformation in a newcomer and awakening the Black Ancient Tomb. As the fragments merged and the tomb opened, Hisoka Tevanaco put on a golden mask and ran inside, where a heartbeat sounded.

  • Lumian realized the area had split into dream fragments, and Amandina reported that an unseen figure had crossed between them and recognized her.
  • The figure reached the woman in the light-colored dress, who collapsed as white, grease-stained feathers sprouted from her body; Aurora murmured that an immortal had granted her eternal life.
  • The feather-covered woman declared herself a god and flew through the tomb wall, while Aurora whispered, “Ascend through feathers to become an immortal.”
  • The Black Ancient Tomb shook and opened, and the dream fragments merged, bringing Dewahuo, Reyasa, Ivelista, Hisoka Tevanaco, and the Gravekeepers together with Lumian’s group.
  • Hisoka put on a golden mask and sprinted into the open tomb as Lumian heard a heartbeat from within.

Ch. 688Preparations of their own

Lumian broke the Black Ancient Tomb’s soul-imprisoning force with the aura of Alista Tudor, while several others revealed powers and relics connected to the corpse inside. As the tomb’s heartbeat intensified, Lumian focused on killing “Hisoka” Tevanaco’s dream projection and taking his Golden Mask.

  • Lumian deduced that “Hisoka” had used gold and a Golden Mask to prepare the cold corpse for his revival plan, and that he had arranged for outsiders to converge on the Dream Festival.
  • Lumian unleashed Alista Tudor’s residual aura, forcing the gold-covered hand back into the tomb and freeing everyone from the soul-imprisoning force.
  • Ivelista brought out a sinister rag doll as the corpse’s buried Malevolent Heart began beating more strongly.
  • Reyasa placed a dark Golden Mask on a Crystal Skull and raised it in a vortex of icy wind.
  • Dewahuo tore off his human skin, spat blood into it, and formed a green-eyed man who walked toward the tomb.
  • Lumian failed to reach Madam Magician through the concealed dream and resolved to kill “Hisoka” Tevanaco’s projection and take his Golden Mask.

Ch. 689Precision

Lumian used Precision to attack Hisoka Tevanaco while the rival factions fought over the Black Ancient Tomb, exploiting Hisoka’s possessions of his companions to trap him in a lightning-filled barrage. The chapter ended with Hisoka exposed on Camus’s body and badly damaged, while Lumian prepared to press his advantage.

  • Lumian ordered Amandina, Camus, Riya, and Lugano to retreat from the Black Ancient Tomb as Hisoka withdrew and the three divine items began fighting over the entrance.
  • Hisoka possessed Riya’s dream projection, but Lumian knocked the projection unconscious and forced Hisoka to jump into Riya’s real body.
  • Camus struck Riya with Mental Piercing, causing Hisoka to abandon her and possess Amandina, whom Lumian then knocked unconscious.
  • Hisoka jumped into Camus and unleashed Wraith Scream as Lumian launched a massive fireball at him.
  • Lumian’s Precision split the fireball into dozens of attacks, and Sea’s Wrath added lightning that blasted the group and severely injured Hisoka in Wraith form.

Ch. 690Movement of Death

Lumian used the Hateful Movement to turn the Gravekeepers’ merged dream projections against them, then destroyed them with fire and lightning. He killed Hisoka Tevanaco, while the Guardian remained alive and struggling.

  • Lumian teleported himself and Camus away from the Gravekeepers’ attacks, then gathered Riya, Amandina, and Lugano and put them to sleep.
  • Lumian hid behind a palm tree and played the Hateful Movement, provoking Hisoka and the Gravekeepers into turning toward him.
  • The melody detonated the Gravekeepers’ emotions and desires, grievously injuring them and also harming Lumian, Dewahuo, and Ivelista.
  • Lumian recovered and sent lightning-wreathed fireballs into the incapacitated Gravekeepers, killing nearly all of them while the Guardian struggled to endure.
  • Lumian struck Hisoka Tevanaco with a lightning-wreathed Flame Spear and killed him.

Ch. 691"Pursuer"

Lumian killed "Hisoka" Tevanaco and the "Guardian" before sending Lugano and the others toward Tizamo Town, while Dewahuo fled into the jungle and encountered a strange hungry boy. When Dewahuo returned as a demon and raced toward the Black Ancient Tomb, Lumian teleported his companions to "Hisoka's" corpse, where Amandina spotted the mysterious figure again.

  • Lumian finished off the dying "Hisoka" Tevanaco, then shattered the "Guardian's" defenses and killed him with a lightning-wreathed Flame Spear.
  • Dewahuo abandoned the battlefield and fled through the jungle, where he encountered a small boy eating a venomous snake and sensed terrifying malice from him.
  • Lumian told Lugano, Camus, Riya, and Amandina to return to Tizamo Town, but chose to stay near the Black Ancient Tomb in case he could help Ivelista Aegis.
  • Lugano and the others began preparing to leave as Dewahuo emerged from the jungle in demon form and charged toward the Black Ancient Tomb.
  • Lumian teleported his companions to "Hisoka's" corpse, where Amandina recognized that the mysterious figure had appeared again.

Ch. 692"Die first, then live"

Lumian and his companions witnessed Dewahuo die and transform after an unseen figure spoke of dying before living. Dewahuo flew into the Black Ancient Tomb, and Lumian took the Golden Mask from Hisoka's corpse.

  • Amandina saw the pallid goat and the River of Deathly Silence, while Reyasa's rot slowed and the river began to fade.
  • Ivelista used a malformed puppet to make the Human-Skin Man stiffen, and Lumian warned his companions not to approach the fallen Bone Flute.
  • Ludwig arrived and pursued Dewahuo, while Amandina sensed an unseen figure watching the demon and relayed its words about emerging from a chrysalis to become a god.
  • Dewahuo rotted, became a cocoon, and emerged as a white-feathered creature before flying into the Black Ancient Tomb.
  • Lumian searched Hisoka's corpse and retrieved the Golden Mask.

Ch. 693The golden corpse

Lumian put on the golden mask and witnessed a golden corpse in the Black Ancient Tomb unleash its power, killing or disabling several beings around it. The corpse spared Ivelista and Lumian, revealed eyes resembling Naporidisli’s, then returned to its place as the tomb sealed and Lumian’s group was transported back to Tizamo Town.

  • Lumian wore the golden mask, saw the Underworld Daoist and a bloodstained figure resembling Blood Emperor Alista Tudor, and felt the Blood Emperor’s aura become sealed.
  • A golden corpse emerged from the burial chamber and made the pale goat disappear, immobilized the Eerie Doll, and transformed the green-eyed man into a bloody pig that Ludwig ate.
  • The corpse left Ivelista unharmed but caused Reyasa to disintegrate into tumors, prompting Lumian to prepare to teleport away.
  • The corpse turned toward Lumian, revealing ice-blue eyes that resembled Naporidisli’s, then tossed a half-withered heart to Ludwig and lay back down.
  • The tomb doors closed, and Lumian and the others awoke on a street beneath the crimson moon in Tizamo Town.

Ch. 694A "transaction"

After the Dream Festival, Lumian found Reyasa and Maislow alive in the street, but Reyasa transformed and died, while Maislow revealed their ties to the Spiritualist Order’s Royalist Faction. Lumian returned to the inn, where a headless woman traded Ludwig a Loen gold coin for a heart, leaving Lumian wondering why he had not received a Lucky Gold Coin.

  • Lumian woke with Hisoka’s Golden Mask, found Reyasa and Maislow recovering from the Dream Festival, and saw signs that both were destined to die soon.
  • Reyasa mutated into a mass of tumors, so Lumian killed him with a blast of white flame and questioned Maislow.
  • Maislow told Lumian that he and Reyasa belonged to the Royalist Faction of the Spiritualist Order, which had sent them to the Dream Festival on the Empress’s orders and cooperated with General Quilariel.
  • Lumian discovered that Reyasa’s Golden Mask and crystal-like skull were missing, then warned Maislow to spend his remaining time carefully before teleporting away.
  • At the Briu Inn, a headless woman demanded the bloodstained heart Ludwig was holding; Lumian suggested a trade, and Ludwig gave it up for a Loen gold coin.
  • Ludwig hid the gold coin in his pocket, while Lumian recognized it as resembling Jenna’s Lucky Gold Coin and wondered why he had not received one.

Ch. 695Kolobo feared the sky would fall

Lumian reflected on how the Dream Festival had accelerated his Reaper potion digestion, promised to help Lugano obtain the Harvest Sacrifice Priest formula and ingredients, and wrote to Madam Magician. A meteorite struck near Tizamo Town, apparently ending the danger from the dead, and Lumian then went to find out where a newly arrived woman and her companion were staying.

  • Lumian concluded that harvesting enemies through destruction was a core principle of acting as a Reaper.
  • Lumian promised Lugano he would find the Harvest Sacrifice Priest formula and ingredients and cover whatever Lugano lacked.
  • Camus woke and found Kolobo trembling in a corner and insisting that the sky was going to fall.
  • Maislow saw a meteorite strike between the jungle and the Military Barracks, shaking Tizamo Town and burying people in collapsed buildings.
  • Lumian sent a letter to Madam Magician, and the Doll messenger cautiously took it away.
  • Lumian sent Lugano to help the injured, then asked the innkeeper which room the newly arrived woman and her companion occupied.

Ch. 696Feathers

After waking from the Dream Festival, Amandina told Robert that Priest Kali had died and ended their engagement, while Camus and Riya went to help the injured. Lumian searched for the missing Beyonders and found greasy white feathers both in their room and buried where the Black Ancient Tomb had stood in the dream.

  • Amandina told Robert she had met the source of her power, then said Priest Kali had died and explained that a devil's ritual had influenced Robert's desire; she asked to break off their engagement.
  • Amandina left Tevanaco's house and headed toward Palm Manor.
  • Camus found Loban injured after the shaking, and Riya explained that he was experiencing mass hysteria; she and Camus went out to help the injured.
  • Lumian searched the room where the man and woman had been staying, found a greasy white feather, and wondered whether they had died and vanished after awakening.
  • Lumian went to the jungle site of the Black Ancient Tomb, found no tomb, and dug up two more greasy white feathers and strange dark, damp soil.

Ch. 697Lady Magician's Explanation

Lumian collected a patch of strange soil and read Lady Magician’s explanation of Naporidisli, the golden mask, and the factions’ plans surrounding the ancient dream tomb. Her letter left him with a clearer understanding of the tomb’s mysteries and the risks of wearing the mask.

  • Lumian sealed the strange soil in a golden box and discovered that it had corroded his straight sword.
  • Lumian returned to the inn and found Lady Magician’s reply, held down by a patterned brass sheet.
  • Lady Magician explained that Naporidisli was an Abomination aspect of the Demon Monarch Farbauti, whose current state made remaining dead safer for him and the world.
  • Lady Magician identified the golden mask’s origins and functions, explained Hisoka’s plan to control Naporidisli’s corpse, and warned Lumian about the mask’s dangers.
  • Lady Magician speculated that the fallen Death God helped bury Naporidisli and that the tomb’s guardians treated the Aegis bloodline specially.

Ch. 698The cleanup

Lumian carried out Madam Magician’s ritual in the special dream, creating a gravestone that established rules for the next Dream Festival. Back in the real world, he returned the Lucky Gold Coin and found Priest Kali repenting alone at Saint Sien Church.

  • Lumian read Madam Magician’s warning that enemies might target the Black Ancient Tomb at next year’s Dream Festival and prepared to perform her ritual.
  • He borrowed Ludwig’s Lucky Gold Coin, entered the special dream wearing the Golden Mask, and set up the ritual before the Black Ancient Tomb.
  • Lumian invoked Mr. Fool and used the ritual to create a gravestone inscribed with rules forbidding murder and rape during the Dream Festival.
  • He placed the Seven of Wands beneath the gravestone, then confirmed in the real world that both the charm and tarot card had disappeared.
  • Lumian returned the coin to Ludwig, passed the rescue workers, and found Priest Kali kneeling in repentance at Saint Sien Church.

Ch. 699Where did the sin lie?

After Priest Kali confessed and accepted purification, Lumian discussed responsibility, desire, and the aftermath of the meteorite disaster with Camus and Amandina. Amandina asked about gaining supernatural powers, prompting Lumian to realize she and Robert might have an unexplained connection to the Underworld Daoist.

  • Lumian challenged Priest Kali's claim that desire had led him into corruption, and Priest Kali admitted he was a true sinner before revealing his wraith form and allowing the church's holy light to purify him.
  • Camus and Riya arrived after helping with disaster relief, and Lumian told them Priest Kali had purified himself; Riya prayed while Camus confirmed that Reyasa's Beyonder characteristic had been collected but Maislow's remained missing.
  • Lumian explained that Reyasa and Maislow belonged to the Spiritualist Order's Royalist Faction and that General Quilariel knew Reyasa's mission; Camus said he planned to leave Matani Province and contact the Castiya family.
  • Amandina came to Saint Sien Church hoping to see whether Robert would visit Priest Kali, then asked Lumian about next year's Dream Festival and ways to raise her Sequence.
  • Lumian explained potion advancement and began to say that the Black Ancient Tomb was not the source of Amandina's powers, then realized she and Robert might have a connection to the Underworld Daoist.

Ch. 700Return

Lumian recruited Amandina to consider helping his friend encounter the Underworld Daoist, offering to take her to Trier after she learned more about mysticism. After returning to Trier, he brought Lugano to Anthony, who quickly cured the lingering problem with Lugano’s arm, then set out with Anthony to find Franca and Jenna.

  • Lumian told Amandina he had encountered the Underworld Daoist in Trier and offered to take her there if she helped his friend with noncombat tasks; she postponed her decision until she learned more about mysticism.
  • Lumian gave Amandina a messenger-summoning incantation, and she asked him to explain the ritual, his real name, and his Traveler’s Bag.
  • Lumian, Ludwig, and Lugano left Tizamo Town and returned to Trier through an entrance to Underground Trier in the Memorial Hall District.
  • Lumian visited Anthony, who had obtained a psychiatrist’s license and was preparing to attend a Psychiatrist Guild dinner.
  • Anthony distracted Lugano and thrust a dagger toward his right forearm, curing the arm’s lingering loss of control.
  • Lumian told Lugano to watch Ludwig and prepare his food, then left with Anthony to find Franca and Jenna.
