Once they entered the canyon, the Thunder Beast guarding it became that Thunder Giant.
The canyon's exit was a narrow gap straight ahead. The Thunder Giant stood in the canyon, and after smashing Ji Yang with its enormous hammer, it raised the weapon high again and aimed at Hu Yunting.
Down it came!
Hu Yunting's pupils contracted. If that enormous hammer landed squarely on him, even his late astral realm cultivation wouldn't let him withstand it.
Having made it this far through the course, he finally fled for the first time. The Liuli Flying Sword circled him, and in an instant, he turned into a streak of sword light, shooting a hundred meters away with a whoosh and escaping the hammer's range.
Boom! The enormous hammer struck the water, sending another towering wave surging up.
After the curtain of water came splashing down, the Thunder Giant raised its hammer again. Its gaze slowly shifted and settled on the two rafts closest to the gap.
Yue Wen had just put Zhao Xing'er and Qi Dian back into their rafts. They were all following the river out of the canyon when they drew the Thunder Giant's attention, and the enormous shadow of its hammer smashed down from above.
Boom!
At the critical moment, Yue Wen thankfully used the Sword Heart Resonance Method to pull them back again, out of the hammer's shadow, allowing them to escape.
"I've figured it out!" Yue Wen shouted to them. "The Thunder Giant locks onto the first target it sees the instant it raises its hammer, and the hammer falls toward that target's position. You go ahead!"
Before the cascade had finished falling, he tossed Zhao Xing'er and Qi Dian back into their rafts, then leaped toward the canyon entrance, drawing the giant's attention from up high.
