Within a heavy expanse of darkness, streams of dim light surged past like a glowing, winding torrent.

A streak of golden light shot through the torrent at tremendous speed, flashing past in an instant and leaving only an afterimage. But a closer look would reveal a red thread mingled with the golden light, following it like a shadow.
Magnified further, it would reveal a golden humanoid the length of a forearm, using its roots as legs as it sprinted madly.
