Background / History

Defeat and rebirth

Kashimo was the strongest sorcerer of his era, four hundred years before the modern story. He lived without a fixed home and pursued martial supremacy above personal attachments. He accepted Kenjaku’s offer of incarnation, eventually fought Sukuna after Gojo’s death, and was killed before he could fully grasp Reverse Cursed Technique 1 6 11 44.

At the apparent end of his life, the special grade cursed spirit Guixu Ying confronted him with mockery of his shortcomings and visions of past and future events. Guixu Ying then offered him a new life, returning him to July at the juvenile detention center in a copied student’s body 1 2.

Detention center and Toji duel

Despite his restricted reserves, Kashimo defeated Cursed Womb Must Die. He left Sukuna’s Finger behind so it could produce a replacement curse, preserving the formative encounter awaiting Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro 2 3.

When Kashimo wished for a suitable weapon, Guixu Ying pulled him into an isolated timeline to fight Toji Fushiguro. Knowing Toji’s close-range superiority, Kashimo baited him into retrieving an electrically charged staff, paralyzed him, and won with a barrage of blows. He subsequently possessed Toji’s Inverted Spear of Heaven and Chain of a Thousand Miles 4 5 13.

Life at Jujutsu High

Needing food and shelter, Kashimo sought out Tokyo Jujutsu High. He breached the first layer of its barrier to draw a response from the school and met Panda. To conceal his historical identity, he introduced himself as Yunyi and claimed amnesia 6 8.

Kashimo began training the students through deliberately harsh sparring. He pushed Megumi beyond reliance on shikigami and helped Nobara improve her cursed energy control. He also exchanged information about a possible possessor of Suguru Geto’s body for Gojo’s student ID and access to the Jujutsu Archive 8 9 10.

Hanami and the Fifth Calamity

Seeking a lethal opponent suitable for learning Reverse Cursed Technique, Kashimo selected Hanami. He provoked the curse into battle after witnessing it kill a child, then survived its domain attack by mastering healing and activating Mythical Beast Amber. Using the Inverted Spear of Heaven, he ended the transformation without immediately dying 11 12 13 14 15.

Kashimo shattered Hanami’s domain with Black Flash but deliberately declined to finish the wounded curse because it still had a role in future events. Later, he rescued Megumi and Nobara from a new shapeshifting special grade, identified the unusual protection around its core, and recommended registering it as the Fifth Calamity 15 19.

Goodwill Event and Mechamaru’s rescue

Kashimo saved Junpei Yoshino, healed injuries caused by his own incapacitating punch, and brought him to Jujutsu High. While observing Mahito’s battle with Nanami and Yuji, he reconsidered his disdain for modern domains and resolved to learn one himself 21 23 24.

During the Goodwill Event, he ambushed the Kyoto team, incapacitated several students, and healed Miwa, Momo, and Mai. He took Mechamaru aside, warned that surviving his agreement with the enemy mattered more than receiving its promised reward, and requested an emergency tracking device 26 27.

Kashimo forfeited the event to reduce casualties elsewhere on campus. He drove Jogo away, rescued a dying Grade 2 sorcerer, healed Megumi, and struck Thousand Fangs with a full-output lightning attack that destroyed his staff without killing the curse 28 29 31 32.

He later fought Kenjaku during Yu Xingji’s confrontation with Mahito. By stabbing Geto’s body with the Inverted Spear of Heaven, Kashimo temporarily interrupted Kenjaku’s possession and collapsed his domain. He then intervened with a thrown, lightning-infused rod when Yu Xingji attempted a dangerous attack on Mahito 38 39 40.

Shibuya Incident

After Gojo was sealed, Kashimo and Yuji were assigned to escape the Curtains and summon help. Kashimo cleared transfigured humans with his electrified Iron Staff, destroyed a giant reinforced with vehicle wreckage, and directed Yuji to contact Nanami 43.

Recognizing the danger Gojo’s absence posed to Jujutsu High, Kashimo felt an unfamiliar urgency to protect its people. He joined the effort to remove the outer Curtain, then subdued a séance-produced Toji through electrical paralysis. He compelled Ogami to summon Toji’s soul information and told Toji that Megumi retained his surname 44 45 46.

While accompanying Toji afterward, Kashimo condemned his abandonment of Megumi, rejecting personal hardship as an excuse for parental irresponsibility 47.

Appearance

• Youthful appearance: Returns to the youthful form associated with his incarnation after his final encounter with Sukuna 1.
• Cyan hair in two buns: His conspicuous hairstyle distinguishes him from an ordinary student 2 4 6.
• Clothing: Initially wears an unfamiliar school uniform, appears in ancient sorcerer’s white robes during the isolated Toji duel, and later wears a Jujutsu High uniform 2 4 12.
• Lightning features: Mythical Beast Amber produces lightning-filled eyes, clawed hands formed from electricity, and surrounding thundercloud vapor. Lightning markings at his eye corners fade after the Hanami battle 14 15.

Personality

Kashimo is proud, combative, and eager to challenge unfamiliar strengths. Toji’s unusual combination of Heavenly Restriction and technique-nullifying equipment excites him, while Megumi’s potential interests him partly because he regrets never fighting the Ten Shadows Technique himself 4 8.

His apparent recklessness often conceals calculation. Against Toji, he deliberately feigns weakness and exploits superior information. After rebirth, he also becomes more patient about self-improvement, choosing opponents and conditions that can help him acquire missing techniques rather than immediately seeking another fatal showdown 4 5 6 11.

His attitude toward others changes from cultivating worthwhile opponents to valuing genuine companions. He comes to view martial virtue as inseparable from martial skill, adopts Jujutsu High’s duty toward survivors, and recognizes that ordinary shared experiences enrich his pursuit of strength 27 29 44.

That concern remains selective. He preserves dangerous events when he believes they are necessary for others’ growth or Sukuna’s rebirth, while trying to reduce casualties around them. He also kills transfigured humans without Yuji’s moral discomfort 3 15 33 37 43.

Lightning Cursed Energy and Charge Manipulation

Kashimo’s electricity-aspected cursed energy accumulates positive charge in targets, which connects with negative charge held in his own body to produce unavoidable lightning 2 3.

• Sure-hit discharge: Sufficient contact allows lightning to erupt inside a target; the required number of hits varies with his reserves and the opponent 2 3 14 38.
• Paralysis and interference: Electrical attacks disable muscles and nerves, obstruct cursed energy circulation, and can repeatedly destroy regenerating curse tissue 3 4 29.
• Defense and acceleration: Can coat his body to intercept Nobara’s nails, slow Divine Dogs with spreading current, and enhance his movement speed 10 26.
• Stored-charge traps: Charges weapons before releasing lightning remotely, as demonstrated against Toji and Hanami 4 13.
