Nosk simply wanted to Punishment the reckless young man in front of him.

But what he didn't know was that the young man was already considering how to scatter his ashes with minimal impact.

Fortunately, in the end, Nosk did not choose to do so, and a major battle was avoided.

Seeing that Nosk had no intention of making a move or responding, Kronos chose to continue speaking.

"Although our Argel Family appears to be a Marquis of considerable status, Archbishop Horamick should know that our family's relationship with the Royal Family is indeed only so-so."

In an attempt to persuade Nosk, Kronos subtly hinted at some things.

"If I truly had the ability to do it, Archbishop Horamick wouldn't have gone to others before. I couldn't handle the situation then, let alone in this even more difficult situation now."

Nosk now actually agrees with what Kronos said, but his inner Pride prevents him from admitting his mistake.

"You noble families have received so much help from us, yet you show no gratitude whatsoever. It's truly despicable."

Although Nosk spoke in a cold tone, with a hint of accusation, Kronos immediately sensed a guilty conscience in his voice.

Fine, you can keep your mouth shut, and I'll just offer a couple of smiles. Kronos can accept this kind of thing.

"Bishop Nosk, it's not that we're unwilling to repay the Church, it's just that we're powerless to do so. Otherwise, why wouldn't our family dare to even go to the House of Lords?"

"The reason I said you were acting on your own is because Archbishop Horamick is well aware of these matters; he won't come looking for me."

"But don't worry, no one will know about what happened today; it'll stay a secret from me."

Nosk didn't respond, but Kronos could clearly sense that he had relaxed a bit.

"Bishop Nosk, if you have nothing else to do, how about I escort you back to Saint Hilleran Cathedral?" After saying this, Kronos pointed to the carriage behind him.

The two of them were actually quite a distance from the Church. This distance was a minor issue for a Sequence 5, but it was still best to avoid walking on their own if possible.

So Nosk snorted and walked toward the carriage.

Kronos watched the arrogant bishop board his carriage, and to be honest, he really felt that this bishop was much easier to fool than Captain Ikanser.

Captain Ikanser may not be as intelligent as Nosk, but he clearly has more life experience.

Kronos now feels that the chances of the bishop being promoted after Horamick steps down are rather slim.

Whether it's the Angel in the Divine Kingdom of the God of Steam and Machinery or the Grand Pontiff of the Church of Steam and Machinery, they are both Sequence Two Angel, but the difference between them lies in their ability to get things done.

The Grand Pontiff needs to manage a vast church, while the Angel of the Divine Kingdom only need to be devout.

Nosk is far behind in this regard now.

After Nosk got into the carriage, Kronos followed.

The carriage drivers were terrified at first, but they gradually calmed down and slowly started driving the carriage.

Kronos didn't say a word to Nosk the whole way, and Nosk completely ignored Kronos.

Kronos only spoke when the carriage arrived near the neighborhood of Kronos's Villa.

"Bishop Nosk, I borrowed a batch of books and manuscripts by Emperor Roselle from Saint Hilleran Cathedral. They're right at my doorstep. How about I go back to pick them up and return them to your Church while I'm at it?"

Nosk, who was striking a pose with his eyes slightly closed, nodded slightly upon hearing Kronos's words, but remained silent.

Kronos mentally ranted, "Where did this 'human oily thing' come from? This is the world of the Lord of the Mysteries, not some world of cultivation. How can someone maintain their appearance like this?"

She's over thirty years old, still acting aloof and posing; that's enough to support several oil refineries.

After quickly ranting through his thoughts, he hurriedly told the driver that he was going home first.

Within days of Ansel Company acquiring the bookmarks of Emperor Roselle, Beck had sent over several of them all at once.

Kronos chose the closest one and tucked it into the original manuscript.

Now is the perfect opportunity to return it. Just casually mention that it was sent back with Bishop Nosk, and I doubt there will be any verification or inspection process.

Kronos wasn't worried that they would be able to tell that the previous Blasphemy Card, but he was afraid that the examiners would notice that the bookmark had been switched.

No matter how similar the one he chooses is, it's still not the original one; there will always be differences in the details.

Kronos had already come up with an excuse: he would say that he had accidentally damaged the previous one, so he was buying a similar one to replace it.

At worst, they could donate a sum of money to the Church as a token of the Argel Family's respect for the Church of Steam and Machinery, and the Church would surely have no objection.

The carriage arrived at the Villa gate quickly. Kronos said to Nosk, "Bishop, please wait a moment, I'll be right back."

After getting off the train, Kronos quickly arranged for his family to organize all the books and manuscripts.

Those books were already organized, because after these people finished copying them, they were piled up in order.

At most, we'll need to take down those few manuscripts from Kronos's room.

So Kronos went to collect the manuscripts himself, while the others were responsible for loading the books onto the carriage.

Because the number of books is quite large, we need to take another bus.

These people were very quick; by the time Kronos came downstairs, all the books on the first floor had already been moved.

Kronos didn't linger and went straight to the carriage outside.

Kronos casually tossed the basic manuscript and diary he was holding onto the carriage that was pulling the books, and then sat back in the original carriage.

"Bishop, let's head to Saint Hilarion Church now."

At this moment, Bishop Nosk was leaning against the side of the carriage, looking out, and even slightly raising his chin—this habit of posing was truly ingrained in his bones.

Seeing that Nosk did not object, Kronos signaled the coachman to set off.

Two carriages, one after the other, headed straight for the Saint Hilleran Cathedral.

Upon arriving at the Church entrance, the two alighted from the carriage. Nosk walked straight into the Church without uttering a word.

After spending a little time with him, Kronos had already gained a basic understanding of his personality, so he didn't pay much attention and simply directed the two stable boys to carry the books down the stairs.

Just as the two stable boys were carrying the books, Kronos reached the Church entrance and said to the man standing there, "These are the books and manuscripts of Emperor Roselle that I borrowed from the Church. Could you please show me the way? I'm taking them back to their original storeroom."

The Clergy clearly recognized Kronos, so he nodded and said, "Follow me."

Then he saw the two cart drivers carrying books down the road, one trip after another, and said, "Can you manage this? Should I find a few more people to help?"

The true nature of the relationship between the Church of Steam and Machinery and the Argel Family is something only the Executives know; it has nothing to do with lower-ranking Clergy like themselves.

All he knew was that Captain Ikanser had previously introduced Kronos as a brother, and he had just witnessed Bishop Nosk alighting from his carriage. Based on this, he figured helping Kronos wouldn't be a big problem.

Kronos was overjoyed. "Really? Thank you so much! If it were just the three of us carrying these things, it would probably have taken us several trips. This is so convenient!"

Seeing that Kronos was being so impolite, the man went to find someone to help him.

In his eyes, this was someone who could directly contact the Church's Executives, and getting an opportunity to help him wouldn't be so easy.

A short while later, he returned to the Church Gate with a group of his "relatives and friends".

A group of people began to help Kronos move the books.

With enough people, the books were moved all at once, without Kronos even having to lift a finger.

After putting the books back in their original places, Kronos took out a wad of cash and generously offered to buy everyone water, then shoved it into the hand of the first person.

The Clergy here certainly earn more than ordinary people, but not by much. You can refer to Mr. Fool's early salary for details. Moreover, the Clergy's salary is probably lower than that of the operatives.

This wad of cash was enough for these people to earn for several months, so they were all beaming with joy.

After seeing these people off, Kronos did not leave immediately, but wandered around the Church for a while.

Kronos believed that the first thing Nosk would do upon his return was to report on the day's events.

If Archbishop Horamick had other problems, he would definitely send someone to find him. Rather than going home and then coming back, it was better to wait here until he was sure that he was no longer needed before going home.

So after wandering around for a while, Kronos returned to the Church hall and found a seat at random.

He didn't believe in the God of Steam and Machinery, so naturally he didn't pray. He just sat there in a daze. He had made up his mind to wait for half an hour from the moment he entered the Church.

If no one comes looking for him within half an hour, he goes home, and even if someone else comes after that, he won't see them again.
