The script
But no matter what the circumstances, Kronos would never actively seek out Ouroboros.
He dared to test Will slightly not because he believed Will was kind, but mainly because he lacked experience and had too much faith in the power of the Time Stone. He didn't expect that the Concealment of Time would be exposed.
Will Unsett is already considered one of the less ferocious Angel in the original story; Kronos wouldn't dare to approach any other Angel.
If it were a truly ruthless one, they would have killed Kronos in an instant.
So even though Kronos had already bought the Pound Family's house, he never had the idea of going inside to take a look.
That three-in-one Red Angel Evil Spirit is not easy to deal with. No matter how tight the defenses are, once you go inside, the Evil Spirit inside may escape, and then Kronos will have no way to deal with it.
So after buying the house in Kronos and taking control of Rafter Pound from the Viscount, he simply ignored him.
At least until he ascends to Demigod and possesses the means to suppress Evil Spirit, Kronos has no intention of targeting this Evil Spirit.
If one day you decide to take action, it must be because you are 100% certain that you can resolve the issue.
Otherwise, given the nature of this Pathway, Kronos would never have a good night's sleep in his entire life.
The next two days passed peacefully. With nothing to do, Kronos moved a batch of Scroll to Jason's House. Since he had plenty of time, he could slowly test his Chaos Scroll Design Plan.
In Kronos's own mind, his Scroll design was about to be a success.
Since obtaining the Chaos Bracelet from the Manor, he has used the Chaos Skill on it many times in order to get a more direct feel for the skill's effects.
Perhaps it is because practice makes perfect that, after having this Beyonder Item as a reference, Kronos's progress accelerated considerably, and he was basically only a hair's breadth away from completion.
Just as Kronos was still locked in Chaos Scroll, an invitation was delivered to Jason's home, from a shareholder of Kain Bank.
Kronos knew that the Butler's plan was progressing, so he naturally went to the appointment as planned.
The next morning, Kronos got up early and put on "special effects makeup."
In reality, he used Vampire Mask to give himself a bruised and swollen face, and then used a white cloth to sling his arms around his neck.
The other shareholder, who had already been persuaded by the Butler, had left Backlund because the Butler had promised him a business deal, so he couldn't keep his appointment today.
So the reason why his and Jason's shares were bought was simply because Kronos said so.
That's the effect I wanted from the Butler.
He described the business cycle as one month, so as long as the remaining shareholders were dealt with within a month, even if the truth was revealed afterward, everything that needed to be done would have been accomplished.
After finishing his preparations, Kronos went out to the meeting place.
Kronos didn't recognize the other shareholders at all. Fortunately, the Butler had given him information beforehand, which included their appearances, so Kronos recognized them the moment he saw them.
To fit Jason's character, Kronos took the initiative to greet him with a slightly more enthusiastic attitude.
However, his state of mind shocked all the shareholders.
"Patrick, what's wrong with you?"
After everyone was seated, someone raised this question.
Kronos had been waiting for this question, so he sighed and said, "Gentlemen, why don't we just sell our shares in Kain Bank? It's not a treasure trove, it's a source of trouble."
After he finished speaking, no one responded; they simply waited for Kronos to continue.
"Mr. Kade isn't here, is he?" Kronos asked after glancing at everyone.
Kade was the first shareholder to side with the Butler.
Everyone shook their heads, and then the shareholder who organized the meeting spoke up, "Mr. Kade is not in Backlund. His family said he Backlund Kade days ago."
Kronos immediately stated confidently, "He's gone into hiding. I'll also be leaving Backlund for a while in a few days. If you're any later, you won't see me at all."
One of the shareholders tentatively asked, "Is it Kain?"
Kronos nodded firmly and said, "Give up, all of you. We can't beat them. They can send out just one of their men, and with a wave of their hand, all my bodyguards will be dead."
"They almost beat me to death in an attempt to force me to sell my shares. I now regret not selling them in the first place; I could have made some money then, but now I've lost a lot."
As he spoke, Kronos even shed tears.
"While I was being beaten, I overheard their conversation. From what they were saying, they seemed to be from the Feysac Empire. They didn't specify what they did, but it probably wasn't legitimate business."
"From what they were talking about, it was something like Sequence 6 and Sequence 5. I don't know what they are, but it seems to be some kind of status symbol."
"I just couldn't resist, and in the end I signed the contract. Only then did they let me go, and they warned me not to be so Greed in business in the future."
"I don't know what they'll do next, but I really don't want to get involved anymore. I'm leaving Backlund in a couple of days, and I'll see if I come back later."
Listening to Kronos's "sincere" lament, a shareholder solemnly spoke up, "Sequence 6 and Sequence 5 are the levels of Beyonder."
The affairs of Beyonder are still classified Information in the ordinary world, so not everyone is qualified to know them. Among the shareholders present, only he knows this, so when he speaks, everyone listens quietly to him.
"The Beyonder rise from Sequence 9 upwards. Sequence 6 and Sequence 5 are undoubtedly the strongest, because those who reach Sequence 4 are called Demigod."
"As far as I know, even the Negan only has Sequence 5 members, no Demigod. Perhaps the Royal Family has one or two Demigod."
Upon hearing this, Kronos began to exert great effort to control his expression. The first sentence was reasonably plausible, but the second sentence began to contain his own wild and unfounded speculations.
According to the Message provided by the Butler, this shareholder is a small distributor who relies on the Negan business, so it's normal that he could find out a little about Beyonder.
Seeing that everyone had fallen silent, Kronos naturally wanted to make the most of his remaining energy, so he started to play the straight man.
"How strong is that Sequence 5? Was the one who kidnapped me Sequence 5?"
The shareholder clearly hadn't had his fill yet, so Kronos's praise pleased him greatly, and he continued, "You're overthinking it. You're hardly worthy of being kidnapped by a Sequence 5 powerhouse."
"Those at Sequence 5 are among the strongest in the entire Northern Continent. Just think of Duke Negan; he wields immense power, yet he only has one Sequence 6 by his side."
This person with the vivid imagination does have some skill, but not much.
Duke Negan did indeed have a Sequence 6 by his side; that was someone sent by the Church of Storms to protect him.
After reading the original work, Kronos had wondered why Duke Negan, even if he couldn't hire a Demigod for protection, would only have a Sequence 6 by his side.
But after he traveled through time, he gradually understood that it was an attitude.
The Argel Family was unwilling to relinquish their inherited Beyonder power, so they had no choice but to give up their authority and retreat from the center of power.
The Negan was unwilling to relinquish their power, so they had only two choices: either completely submit to the Royal Family Royal Family be granted Potion to advance to Demigod, or abandon their ambitions in the realm of Beyonder.
Perhaps the Negan hasn't completely given up; there may still be countless Sequence 5 on their fiefdoms, but it's not appropriate to openly bring them to Backlund.
Whenever he was in Backlund, he would be accompanied by Lockhart, Secretary from MI9, and bodyguards sent by the Church of Storms; this was to show everyone his attitude.
He just never expected that he would die because of this attitude.
This shareholder, after learning about the Duke Negan's public stance, made countless assumptions, which led to the above remarks.
But it was precisely these exaggerated remarks that made all the shareholders present tremble with fear.
Whether it's Sequence 5 or Sequence 6, they definitely wouldn't be able to resist. They don't even know anything about Beyonder, let alone recruit Beyonder bodyguards.
At this point, one of the shareholders spoke up and asked, "Since you have close ties with the Negan Negan, could you perhaps ask them to lend a hand?"
The boastful shareholder's face stiffened; he hadn't expected his boasting to cause such trouble. However, he reacted quickly and said seriously.
"What are you thinking? With all our resources, we wouldn't even be enough to hire a Sequence 6 expert. How could they possibly be interested in us?"
Apart from Jason, who was already dead, all the shareholders present were businessmen with their own businesses. The shares in Kain Bank were just an investment for them, so each of them could be said to have some assets.
They've poured all their wealth into this; they could easily afford to hire a Sequence 6 expert, or even a Demigod. This kind of amazing mission would make Mr. Fool laugh in his sleep.
They just didn't have a way to contact each other.
So there was an awkward silence at the scene.
Seeing this, Kronos spoke up, "Gentlemen, since none of us have a way to deal with this situation, why don't we all back down and sell our shares at a price that doesn't result in a loss? Otherwise, we might end up not only losing money but also getting beaten up when they come knocking on our door."
After saying that, Kronos pointed to his face.
While this makes sense, everyone here is a businessman, and no one is willing to give up the profits they've already made.
In fact, the Butler's storyline ends here. Kronos could simply turn around and leave, disappearing from Backlund the next day.
As for what happens next, the Butler can handle it himself. It's nothing more than lowering the acquisition price to put pressure on them, changing his negotiating attitude, gradually becoming indifferent, and then adopting a "look at us like we're dead" attitude towards these shareholders.
These are all basic negotiation skills. Gradually increase the pressure, and when the atmosphere is right, the Butler will loosen his grip slightly, and these shareholders will rush to hand over their shares.
But Kronos wasn't satisfied. He lived in a house where the dead were buried, wore such makeup, and acted with them for so long; he couldn't just leave empty-handed.
Kronos had been mentally prepared for this situation before he left home, so he had a backup plan, which he used at this moment.
A dark shadow flashed outside the window. While everyone else was still deep in thought, Kronos had to rely on himself and shouted, "Who? Who's out there?"
This exclamation startled everyone present. Everyone looked in the direction Kronos was pointing. The shadow had already passed, but as if in coordination with Kronos, the sound flashed again, allowing everyone to see it clearly.
No one could see what it was, but it was precisely because it was unclear that it startled everyone; the unknown is what's terrifying.
Kronos, feigning courage, suggested, "How about we open the window and take a look?"
It was clear from their expressions that everyone was against the suggestion; no one wanted to try it. What if they let something terrible in?
This suited Kronos perfectly, so he continued, "Or shall I go to the window and take a look? Without opening the window, just to see what's going on around me."
No one was willing to accept the previous proposal, but this one was easily approved, since it wasn't like they were being asked to do it.
Kronos tiptoed to the window, carefully looked around, then turned back and said, "I don't see anything?"
But as soon as Kronos finished speaking, a voice came from outside the window.
It was really hard to find you.
These words frightened Kronos so much that he ran straight into the house, immediately moving away from the window. Everyone else in the house also ran inwards in fright.
The shareholder who had been boasting earlier probably had a slightly broader perspective, so he was bolder and asked, "May I ask who you are? Could you please come out and meet me?"
The voice outside the window replied, "No, if you see me, you will not leave alive."
Despite their initial panic, these businessmen were all seasoned and successful individuals who quickly regained their composure.
One person asked, "What is your purpose today? Is it because of the Kain Bank?"
This was the only reason they could think of. They had never encountered anything like this in all their lives. They had just learned that there were Beyonder behind the Kain Bank, and then this happened. They certainly wouldn't believe it was unrelated.
Just as he was asking the question, the organizer of the meeting secretly poked his head out of the room, and Kronos clearly heard him instructing the servants outside to send someone out to check if there was anything around the windows of the room.
They were all formidable opponents, but fortunately, Kronos was well-prepared.
A voice from outside replied, "They're all such smart people, why can't they understand? Why do they so desperately want money that isn't theirs?"
This statement essentially presupposes the previous question.
One of the shareholders continued, "We all invested normally and now want to conduct normal transactions. Everything is reasonable and legal. What right do you have to bully us?"
"If I can use my power to my advantage, why can't I bully others?"
This statement left everyone present completely dumbfounded; it made perfect sense.
After a while, Kronos logged in and initiated the process, "What exactly is your purpose? Just say it! Stop beating around the bush."
At this moment, the servants outside had already brought in the Message. The room where they were meeting was on the third floor, so the details weren't very clear, but it was certain that there was no one outside the window.
All the shareholders heard this, and they also heard the sounds outside the window.
A voice came from outside the window. "There's no need to send anyone to find my location. None of you are even Beyonder; how dare you presume to locate me?"
Then he continued, "We've given you enough time. This is your final warning. There won't be a next time. You'd better watch yourselves."
After the words were spoken, another dark shadow flashed past the window, and no matter how the people inside spoke, they received no further response.
Seeing this, Kronos immediately addressed everyone, saying, "Gentlemen, I must take my leave now. I have already sold my shares, and everything that follows is none of my concern. I've come here to advise you."
He spoke in a loud voice, as if he were talking to someone else, and then turned and left.
