A deal
After the torrent reached Roselle and Klein, it finally transformed into a human figure, which was none other than Kronos.
This time, Kronos did not reveal his true identity, but instead faced the two with an unfamiliar face.
Upon meeting Kronos, Klein asked in surprise, "Are you Mr. Fate?"
Kronos smiled and said, "Yes, esteemed Mr. Fool and Mr. World."
Klein now understood that this Mr. Fate must have seen through him long ago.
He asked, "When did you find out?"
"When I first entered the Sefirah Castle," Kronos said, feigning sincerity.
"When I first went in, I knew it was the Sefirah Castle, but I couldn't gauge your strength."
"Although Emperor Roselle was just an ordinary person when Descent, Amanises did not Descent as an ordinary person, so I need to make a careful judgment."
Kronos bluntly revealed all the secrets of the Sefirah Castle.
These words not only deeply affected Klein, but also greatly impressed Emperor Roselle.
Kronos continued, "Although the Sefirah Castle has been a great help to you, and I can't see through your disguise, your performance and the level of sophistication you displayed don't match the name 'The Fool.'"
"So I knew then that you couldn't possibly be the Fool, or even someone with very low strength; at most, you were just a Low Sequence Beyonder."
This statement doesn't have many flaws.
Klein's performance fooled Alger and Audrey because they were too weak at the time, but it would be almost impossible to fool a strong person.
After hearing these words, Klein believed that he was telling the truth.
If he had had the ability to create Avatar of the world from the very beginning, he would definitely have been able to perform even better.
However, the fact that Mr. Fool accepted money from Audrey is indeed inconsistent with Mr. Fool's identity.
And these actions have been happening right before Mr. Fate's eyes.
After explaining the situation to Klein, Kronos looked at Roselle.
"Greetings, Your Emperor Roselle. I have come here today primarily to make a deal with you."
Roselle remained silent for a long time before finally speaking, "You desire the Beyonder Characteristic of Knowledge Emperor, but how can you be so sure that I possess them?"
Kronos replied sincerely, "I'm not sure, but I hope you do, it will save me a lot of time."
Another long silence followed.
In fact, this silence is a good thing, as it means that Kronos guessed correctly.
Roselle truly knew of the Emperor's Beyonder Characteristic Knowledge Emperor, or at least had some clues about it; otherwise, he wouldn't have remained silent.
After a long silence, Roselle finally spoke, "What would I get in return if I helped you?"
Kronos had already planned his offer for this deal, and he was confident he could control Roselle.
All that could be heard was Kronos saying, "After obtaining your Beyonder Characteristic, I will definitely have a battle with the Hidden Sage, and I am confident that I can win."
"I'll definitely face Stiano then, and if I win, I can reward Bernadette with a Sequence One."
For Bernadette, that Knowledge Emperor was nothing more than a Sequence One.
Kronos continued, "Then I can also set Bornova free, so that both of your children can benefit."
For Roselle at this point, his greatest wish was probably for his children to live well, so Kronos was to address the root of the problem.
But Roselle retorted, "You're just promising the future. If you fail, if you die at Stiano's hands, or even become a defeated foe of the Hidden Sage, wouldn't I be at a huge loss?"
"I'm not that easy to lose. Amanises and Adam are my allies, and they have high hopes for me. Besides, I have a secret," Kronos replied.
Amanises and Adam's optimism is indeed a respectable statement, after all, they are two shrewd and calculating individuals.
After hearing Kronos's words, Roselle laughed, "So you plan to take the Sequence One Beyonder Characteristic from me without giving anything in return?"
Kronos remained completely unfazed by this question.
"Or what do you want? A Sequence One Beyonder Item? I can give that to you too."
Indeed, nothing he wants is of any use now; Beyonder Item and Beyonder Characteristic are completely useless to him.
After saying this, a revolver appeared in Kronos's hand. "If you want it, I can trade it to you right now."
"It suits you well; it is a manifestation of the Hand of Order Beyonder Characteristic. If you are able to return one day, perhaps you will have the opportunity to go further with it."
"But you should think it over carefully. If you choose this path, the deal I just mentioned will be void."
The invalidation meant that Bernadette's path was completely blocked, and Bornova's freedom was also completely lost.
Roselle has lived for so many years; he couldn't possibly be convinced with just a few words.
He retorted directly, "It's true that I have no use for this item, but I can choose not to trade with you. What's the problem with that?"
Kronos said with a smile, "No problem, but unfortunately, you are not the Black Emperor, just a poor man who cannot leave the Tomb."
"And I am the Knowledge Emperor; your children are at most Angel, don't you agree?"
Although Kronos's words did not carry a harsh tone, the underlying threat was palpable.
Kronos didn't have many complicated feelings towards Emperor Roselle; if they cooperated, everything would be easy to discuss and negotiate.
But if someone blocks my way, it wouldn't be unacceptable to threaten them with their children, or even to kill them right there.
To accomplish this, it's actually quite simple: just completely destroy the Tomb, and Roselle will be dead beyond any doubt.
Roselle and Klein were both taken aback by Kronos's words. Were threats delivered so naturally?
Kronos said, "You have ascended to the level of True God, so you should know the difference between True God and someone else. Therefore, if you block my path, don't blame me for using some inappropriate methods."
Upon hearing this, Roselle fell silent once again.
Indeed, the allure of ascending to True God is irresistible to any Archangel.
"Alright, I'll take the deal." Out of concern for his daughter's safety, Roselle finally agreed.
As for Bornova, the two weren't that close since birth, so naturally they couldn't compare to Bernadette.
Seeing that Roselle had agreed, Kronos smiled with delight.
If I were to become the King of Angel, and with the power of the Authority of Time, subduing the Hidden Sage shouldn't be too much of a problem.
In that case, the position of Hermit seems to be within reach.
After a slight pause, Roselle said, "My soul came here after I died."
"The other eight Mausoleum outside have been destroyed, but as long as this one remains, I will have the ability to Resurrection."
"But after trying it a little, I realized I couldn't be Resurrection like that, because the contamination would continue to haunt me."
"Even though I left all the contamination within the Beyonder Characteristic of my Knowledge Pathway when I died, they still came here with me."
"Therefore, I once tried to perceive the Beyonder Characteristic that were originally mine."
"So I know the position of that Knowledge Emperor."
Perhaps because Roselle hadn't spoken in a long time, he was genuinely looking for every possible way to speak, just to get a few more words out.
Kronos didn't rush him; they had already gotten to the point.
Emperor Roselle continued, "That Beyonder Characteristic fell into the water after my death, in the Serenzo River, but I cannot provide the exact location."
The Serenzo River is essentially the Tussock River of the Loen Kingdom, an important inland waterway of the Republic of Intis, and even connects directly to the Feynapotter Kingdom.
Once it falls into this great river, it won't be so easy to pull it out. You'll have to search every inch of the river.
Although it's a bit troublesome, it's much better than having no clues at all; at least now we have a target.
Having discerned Kronos's thoughts, Roselle spoke up, "Actually, this matter isn't as difficult as you imagine."
"I can create a temporary, Beyonder Item for you, which can use my scent as a locator."
"After my death, that Beyonder Characteristic never passed through the hands of anyone else, not even animals, so the aura that belongs to me on it should be the strongest."
"When the time comes, with it and your own convergence through similar Pathway, you should be able to find this Beyonder Characteristic in no time."
After listening to Roselle's advice, Kronos sincerely thanked him.
You see, he had just threatened Roselle. If Roselle was determined to cause him trouble, he would have no choice but to dive into the river and search for him bit by bit.
Roselle accepted the thanks readily, then said, "If you really want to thank me, then please take good care of Bernadette for me."
He truly lives up to his reputation as a doting father; everything he does is to ensure his daughter has a better life.
These were minor matters to Kronos, and could not compensate for Roselle's help.
So he gently raised his hand and pointed lightly at Roselle.
A Green Light flashed and then entered Roselle's body.
Before Roselle could even ask what was going on, he felt a sense of relief.
Although he had been sealed away by Bernadette and Klein, he only remained conscious for a short time.
If he doesn't enter a state of dormancy, it won't be long before Roselle is affected by the pollution again and completely Loss of Control once more.
Therefore, he was merely forcing himself to finish explaining his concerns to Klein and Kronos.
Only after entering a deep sleep can he maintain his conscious state for a longer period of time.
But after the Green Light entered his body, Roselle suddenly felt better. The corruption seemed to stop at that moment and did not continue.
This is because Kronos used the Power of Time to freeze his state at this moment.
If one day Kronos's status reaches the same level as the corruption of the Mother Goddess of Depravity, perhaps he can use the Power of Time to help Roselle rid herself of the corruption.
"What did you do? I feel like I'm frozen in this moment," Roselle said in surprise.
"If this state can continue, perhaps I won't even need to fight the pollution in my body through sleep."
Roselle wasn't the only one surprised; Klein was also astonished, for he had never seen such power before.
Kronos chuckled and said, "That's why Amanises and Adam have such high hopes for me. That's why I said I could handle the Hidden Sage and Stiano; it wasn't just empty talk."
Having reached this level, Kronos no longer concealed himself. So what if he had new authority? Wasn't an Archangel qualified to wield it?
Roselle looked at Kronos with an unusual look of joy on his face.
Even a dead person possesses some of the characteristics of Knowledge Emperor.
After a brief Analysis, he realized that this power would be very helpful to him.
If we could become stronger, perhaps we could free ourselves from the control of pollution.
At this moment, he was extremely glad that he had chosen to make a deal with Kronos; otherwise, he would have truly lost such an opportunity.
So he didn't ask any more questions, but instead flicked his finger and picked up a stone from the ground.
Under the watchful eyes of Kronos and Klein, the power belonging to the Artisan enveloped the stone.
Roselle can be considered a Artisan; in the entire world, apart from Stiano, it's impossible for anyone to surpass him.
You can simply pick up an ordinary stone out of thin air and, through your own efforts, temporarily transform it into an Beyonder Item.
Of course, it's a one-time use item; it can only be used briefly, after which all supernatural abilities will be completely lost.
However, Kronos only needs it to act as a radar, helping Kronos search the Serenzo River once, which will not consume too much of its power.
Therefore, this "radar" can only be used for one week. After one week, it will completely fail and turn back into an ordinary stone.
Although the Serenzo River is indeed very long, it's safe to assume that for Kronos, flying along it would take less than a week.
