The Symbol of Time
After leaving Governor George's Villa, the first thing Kronos did upon returning to the Inn was to go to Gner's room, but Gner was not there.
So Kronos left a note for Gner, basically saying that the matter was settled and that Gner should look for him when he returned.
With nothing else to do, Kronos returned to his room to continue his research on Time Magic.
Creating Spell actually involves only three steps: finding the materials, understanding the spell's composition, and creating the Symbol.
Since we lack the materials and cannot fully understand the composition, let's try using Symbol.
Although it's a bit of putting the cart before the horse, there's no other way. The nature of time is just too profound. Kronos has now made up his mind that if all else fails, he'll use the Time Stone as a transit point to cast Spell.
Therefore, Kronos now needs a Symbol that can manipulate the forces of time.
And when he thought of this, since Kronos's cheat ability was the Time Stone, the first image that flashed through his mind was the container for the Time Stone in Doctor Strange's hands in the movie—the "Eye of Agamotto".
Perhaps using the Time Stone itself as Symbol would be best, but Kronos still wanted to test whether the Eye of Agamotto would work, which would also fulfill a dream.
Kronos didn't know what the real Eye of Agamotto, which could hold the Time Stone, actually looked like, so he could only imitate it based on the appearance in the movie.
According to the Family Spell Grimoire, when creating Spell, as long as the Warlock is comprehending that ability or power, their own Spirituality will remind the Warlock of the shortcomings of the Symbol.
Many family elders did not receive this treatment. To achieve this, one would need to find an Beyonder of the Spell's Sequence to provide long-term assistance, so very few could actually do it.
Fortunately, Kronos can. He is currently under the Concealment of Time for an extended period, with the Power of Time constantly surrounding him. Perhaps Spirituality can indeed help him complete the Symbol of the Eye of Agamotto.
The only problem is that other Warlock create Spell first and then look for Symbol, but he did the opposite, and we don't know what the result will be.
But it's a last resort, so let's give it a try. Maybe we can develop another way to create Spell.
Kronos sat cross-legged on the bed, increasing the intensity of his Concealment of Time. Due to his advancement in the Sequence, Kronos's Spirituality could now maintain a high level of Time Concealment for a long time.
Feeling enveloped by the Power of Time, Kronos slowly closed his eyes and entered a semi-meditative state.
It's called semi-meditation because his mind was still Consciousness tracing the Eye of Agamotto in his mind, but this tracing of Symbol really did resemble meditation.
It was not long before nine o'clock in the evening when Gner returned to the Inn from the Bar. In the past two days, he had been to countless Bar and chatted with countless people.
Even though Gner prides himself on being a "Bar social expert," he's starting to feel the strain.
He didn't want to say a word right now, because he had said everything he needed to say in the past two days.
After opening his door, he looked down and saw Kronos's note.
Gner inwardly groaned, "I have to speak again."
But there was nothing I could do; the Boss told him to speak, so how could I refuse?
Arriving at Kronos's door, Gner gently knocked twice and waited for someone to Door Opening, but several minutes passed without any response.
So he knocked twice more hard, making sure the sound could be heard in every corner of the room.
But contrary to expectations, there was still no movement inside.
"Could he have gone out again? Not in his room?" Gner muttered to himself, then prepared to go downstairs to ask.
One advantage of upscale Inn is that the waiters remember every guest, and some even have the guest's name and preferences memorized.
So the person Gner asked could naturally give the answer: Kronos hadn't left his room since returning.
Hearing this, Gner was overjoyed. "Boss, it's not that I didn't come looking for you, but if you didn't Door Opening, don't blame me. Let's talk about it tomorrow. I'm going back to my room to rest."
This wasn't one of those small colonial islands; no one would harm a Marquis's heir in Bayam. So Gner wasn't worried and promptly went back inside.
As for Kronos, he was completely absorbed in the Power of Time. Although he still didn't understand the nature of the Power of Time or the composition of time skills, the Power of Time was indeed pushing him to complete this Symbol.
He initially meditated on the Eye of Agamotto based on his own impression of it, but his Spirituality told him that the Symbol was full of flaws.
So Kronos had no choice but to revise it again and again, losing count of how many times he did it. Finally, after the last revision, the Spirituality stopped giving him any further hints.
Kronos was overjoyed, thinking he had successfully created his Symbol.
The next moment, the Time Stone between his brows fluctuated, and a green light flashed.
Then a green light began to shine on the Symbol he had drawn, and then a green power flowed through the lines of the Symbol.
After circulating for hundreds of times, Kronos suddenly found that his mind was firmly drawn to this green power.
He could clearly observe the flow of this green force and its transformation of the Symbol.
At first, Kronos hadn't fully immersed himself in it, but gradually, he lost interest in everything else and became completely focused on the Power of Time in transforming the Symbol.
The next morning, after Gner had rested, he took the initiative to find Kronos. After all, he had gathered a lot of Message and it was time to report it to his "Boss".
But after knocking on the door for a long time, no one answered.
Gner assumed that Kronos had been studying something late last night and that's why he hadn't gotten up.
So he slipped a note under Kronos's door and went back inside to wait.
Gner didn't go out today; he still needs to report to Kronos after he wakes up.
But unexpectedly, Gner didn't see Kronos come looking for him all afternoon.
He knocked on Kronos's door several more times, but there was still no response.
Under these circumstances, Gner couldn't sit still any longer. After dinner, Gner applied for a spare Key from the Inn, intending to open Kronos's room and inspect it himself.
After the Inn manager learned the situation, he discovered that Gner had indeed arrived with the guest in that room, and that guest had not made a sound all day.
Ultimately, the manager approved Gner's request and personally used the spare Key to open Kronos's door.
According to the Rules, the Inn manager is not allowed to enter the guests' rooms, but he needed to supervise Gner to prevent any misconduct, so he stood at the door while Gner went into the room.
Seeing that there was nothing unusual in the living room, Gner opened the bedroom door.
As soon as the door opened, Kronos was sitting on the bed, surrounded by a green glow.
Although he didn't know what the Green Light was, Gner had a rough idea of what Kronos was doing.
Because Kronos had complained to Gner about Spell creation several times while they were on the ship, Gner had a general understanding of the Spell.
Seeing that Kronos was unharmed, Gner was relieved.
He walked out of Kronos's bedroom and, under the manager's watchful eye, picked up the note he had left for Kronos earlier.
After adding a few more words, he placed it in the bedroom, in front of Kronos.
Then he left Kronos's room and closed the door behind Kronos, under the manager's watchful eye.
"How is the guest?" the manager asked.
Gner had no choice but to make up a lie, "It's nothing. He's a scholar, and he's probably too tired from working on his research late yesterday, so he's still sleeping. I left him a note saying he'll let the waiter know when he wakes up."
Gner knew very well that the manager was more concerned about the guest not causing any problems at the Inn, otherwise the Inn would suffer significant losses.
After hearing this, the manager felt much relieved. After Gner returned to his room, he specifically arranged for a waiter to keep an eye on Kronos's room and make sure to inform him whenever a guest came out.
Kronos continued this deductive process until dawn, around 4 a. m.
The entire Symbol has been completely transformed by the Power of Time; not only has Agamotto disappeared, but even the shape of its eyes has been altered and vanished.
The Symbol is now circular in shape, and Symbol is composed of countless chaotic lines. However, while it appears chaotic, there is a subtle sense that a pattern can be discerned within it.
Perhaps this is time itself; Kronos could clearly sense its appropriateness, though it was no longer fitting to call it the Eye of Agamotto. Perhaps calling it simply the Time Symbol would be more fitting.
It was only at this moment that Kronos was able to pull himself together; such a long period of observation had left Kronos utterly exhausted.
The Symbol of Time was completed, but it was still useless because without the corresponding materials, the Spell could not be used.
Upon opening his eyes, Kronos immediately saw Gner's note.
"I'll be waiting for you in the room. When you wake up, remember to go out and say hello to the waiter; you haven't shown up for too long."
There was no detailed explanation of why this was done, but Kronos knew the reason.
Kronos was also quite hungry, so he opened the door, looked around, and immediately saw the waiter waiting at the door.
He waved to the waiter and said, "Go get me something to eat, mostly meat, the kind that will keep me full."
After saying that, he stuffed several banknotes into the waiter's hand, and then Kronos closed the door.
