The Messenger Lady
Just as Sharf was about to angrily ask him why he was laughing, Kronos spoke up, "Go ahead and use it, then fix this ability to me tonight and bring it over tomorrow morning. Do you think you can do that?"
That one sentence immediately extinguished Sharf's anger, and he said with a smile, "Of course, no problem. I'll send it to you at nine o'clock tomorrow morning so as not to disturb your rest."
Sharf's sudden change to a fawning attitude really made Kronos a little uncomfortable. He really wanted to say, "I still prefer your unruly self. Please come back to your old self."
However, in the end, Kronos didn't say it aloud. It's better to keep the joke to yourself; if it actually went viral, wouldn't that be giving Klein a heads-up?
Kronos still preferred to appear suddenly and shock Klein's condition.
That evening, Gner returned to the Inn. Despite his exhaustion, he greeted Kronos, repeatedly saying that he wasn't tired.
As a result, I slept for more than ten hours, from sunset to sunrise.
When they arrived at the Hotel, Sharf arrived right on time, bringing with him his Spirit Harmonica Inn.
"Kronos, I've fixed the functions you need onto it, but it will only last for two years. After two years, you can come back to me to have them fixed again." Sharf handed the harmonica to Kronos.
"You'll be leaving here in a couple of days, and we probably won't be staying together then. So here's how to summon my Messenger. You can have the Messenger bring it to me, and I'll send it back to you."
As he spoke, Sharf handed him the paper. Kronos glanced at it; it was the most common summoning incantation. "A spirit wandering in illusion, a celestial being driven by man, Messenger belonging solely to Sharf June."
After reading it, Kronos asked, "Would you like to wait a moment before telling me my summoning incantation?"
Sharf thought for a moment, "Never mind, I haven't slept all night, I'm going back to sleep. I'll tell you later if I have a chance."
Kronos chuckled softly, then said, "Alright, go ahead."
Looking at Sharf's dark circles under his eyes, Kronos was a little worried that he might suddenly die.
Nobody knows where Gner has gone. He disappeared after we had breakfast together this morning. He probably went to visit someone he knew before.
I had originally planned to have Gner summon a Messenger first, but since he wasn't there, Kronos went ahead on his own.
Following his memory, Kronos meticulously set up the Ritual for summoning the Messenger in the Inn's room.
This is because the room is quite spacious; otherwise, it might not have been able to accommodate all the items.
After the Ritual was completed, he stepped back and said:
"I!
I summon in my name:
"A spirit wandering in illusion, a benevolent being at my beck and call, a unique being willing to be my Messenger."
The Candle flames suddenly stretched out, illuminating the Altar with a bright, crimson glow.
Kronos did not activate his Eyes of Mystery Prying because he was unsure what he would summon. In case of any problems, there was a chance that the Eyes of Mystery Prying might see something it shouldn't.
Therefore, Kronos simply maintained his Spirit Vision, ensuring he could see what appeared.
In Kronos's Spirit Vision, a bird-like creature emerged from the ground.
This is a bird-like creature made of bones, which looks a lot like an eagle. Although this creature is made of bones, there are even feathers on the bones.
After emerging from the ground, the creature flew around in front of Kronos.
Putting everything else aside, birds are generally fast, so they should be quite competent as Messenger.
Therefore, Kronos was quite satisfied.
Just as Kronos was about to ask the creature a question, the situation suddenly changed.
A hand suddenly appeared before Kronos's eyes; it looked like it belonged to a Lady.
This hand was so white and flawless, as pure as a beautiful work of art, yet this pristine hand exuded a slight chill, as if devoid of warmth, which was chilling.
It was this hand that grabbed the bird-like creature in front of Kronos and pulled it back into the Spirit World.
Kronos was dumbfounded. "My huge Messenger! How could he just disappear like that?"
While Kronos was debating whether to wait or summon again...
A ripple appeared before him, as if the hand had gently torn a thin membrane, separating the Real World from the Spirit World, and a female figure emerged from it.
The Lady, dressed in red, with a graceful figure, stood barefoot on the ground in front of Kronos.
When Kronos looked at her face, he found it obscured by a gray mist, making it impossible to discern her features. However, based on the overall impression, he concluded that this Lady was absolutely stunning.
"Do you... think... I... can... do it?" The voice came from the Lady in front of Kronos.
But now Kronos hesitated. If it were the bird from before, Kronos would have agreed without hesitation, but this Lady was completely different.
Kronos is not the same Klein who summoned the Messenger just now; he is a humanoid creature who can freely travel between the Spirit World, and what he represents is unpredictable.
Just as Kronos hesitated, a Majesty voice rang in his ears, and then a dragon's head emerged from the Spirit World.
Surprisingly, Kronos is quite popular. I wonder how strong that bird is, but the Lady in front of me and the Dragon that's about to emerge don't look weak at all.
However, before Kronos could get a good look at the Dragon, the Lady in front of him moved.
Kronos slapped the Dragon directly on the head, and he clearly saw the dragon's head deflate.
The head of a Dragon collapsed, just like a can that had been smashed.
Kronos felt a chill run down his spine. If that slap had landed on him, Kronos was certain he wouldn't have had the chance to become a meat patty; he'd probably be reduced to dust.
"Be... quiet... everyone... wait... ask..." The Lady slowly uttered these words to the Spirit World, then turned back to Kronos, presumably waiting for an answer.
Seeing this, it was unlikely that Kronos wouldn't answer, so he could only weakly ask, "If I disagree, will you hit me?"
The Lady probably knew she had difficulty speaking, so she simply shook her head.
Kronos continued, "So, what are your requirements for becoming my Messenger?"
"Not... for now..., maybe... in the future..., but... fair... trading... is... not... coercive."
Even so, Kronos was reluctant to sign a contract with her, as there was a high possibility of danger.
"If I don't sign a contract with you, can I choose another Messenger?" This question was asked very cautiously.
"Yes... but... you... carry... my... aura... on you, ordinary... creatures... dare... not... approach... it... will... take... three... years... to... recover... to... normal." The Lady said, enunciating each word clearly.
There's no way around it now. If they had said this earlier, would Kronos have even asked the previous questions?
Three years have passed, and the daylily has grown cold.
Kronos, suppressing the urge to berate the Lady, said, "I'm willing to sign a contract with you."
Then Kronos picked up the paper and pen he had prepared and prepared to start writing the contract.
"No... no need," the Messenger Lady said.
Then she raised her hand and pointed at Kronos, Kronos immediately felt a strange connection between them.
This is not a witnessed contract, but a connection based on aura, so the two can directly summon each other through this connection.
But for the first time, the usually timid Kronos objected, "No, such a binding force is too weak; I'm afraid you'll hurt me."
The Messenger Lady didn't speak, seemingly deep in thought. After a while, she slowly nodded and said, "Okay, sign... the... contract."
Upon seeing that she agreed, Kronos was overjoyed. He had never been so quick with his hands, and he immediately wrote down the contract.
Kronos specifically stipulated that Messenger must not peek at letters, discard letters, or endanger the life of contractors. Of course, if the contents of a contractor's letter involve Messenger, the contractor must inform the other party in advance.
To ensure the validity of the contract, the final part is the Honorific Name of the God of the domain.
This is a Deathling Contract, which normally requires the Honorific Name the Death God. However, this Death God has been dead for a long time and no longer responds. Therefore, Acronos and Klein both chose to have the Underworld witness the pact. Otherwise, Kronos was afraid that nothing else could restrain the Messenger before him.
"The final destination of all death, hidden deep within the Spirit World's hell, a testament to the inevitable decay of all things, a realm belonging solely to the god of Death God."
Finally, there was the power of the Deathling Domain that was used to sign the contract. Kronos took out the Spirit Harmonica and gently placed it on the contract.
This doesn't involve the issue of the Spirit Harmonica's Harmonica being too low-ranking to control the Messenger.
The harmonica only serves to deliver the contract to the Underworld; the real constraint comes from the Underworld itself.
Kronos finally signed his current name on the contract: "Klein Norman".
Since it only Record aura, it doesn't matter whether it's a real name or not.
Finally, he handed the contract to the Messenger Lady, but she didn't even look at it or sign it. She simply pointed at it, and a burst of green flame burned the contract away.
