Chapters 482–496 Vol. 5 Read

Ch. 482The plan succeeded

Adam drew the gods to the Forsaken Land of the Gods and held the True Creator at bay while Amanises and Lilith helped keep the battle going. Stiano left the Perfect Land to watch, giving Kronos the chance to drink the Knowledge Emperor potion, and Adam then incited Leodero to attack Stiano.

  • Adam entered the Forsaken Land of the Gods and confronted the True Creator, while Leodero, Aucuses, and Herabergen arrived and resisted the corruption.
  • Amanises and Lilith revealed themselves, and Stiano decided to leave the Perfect Land to watch the gathering of gods.
  • Kronos detected Stiano passing the Giant King's Court, returned to the Moses Ascetic Order, and drank the Knowledge Emperor potion.
  • Lilith intercepted Aucuses while Amanises engaged Herabergen and occupied Leodero, holding back to buy Kronos time.
  • Amanises called on Stiano to stop Leodero using the favor he had promised her, forcing Stiano to reveal himself.
  • Adam reminded Stiano of his earlier apology to Leodero and provoked him with the possibility of making Leodero apologize to him.

Ch. 483Hermit

Kronos completed the final steps of becoming the Hermit as Adam distracted the True Creator and kept Stiano occupied. After Kronos gained the Knowledge Torrent’s recognition, Adam drew on the Chaos Sea, forcing Leodero and the other gods to flee, while Lilith and Amanises considered killing Stiano and giving his Beyonder characteristics to Kronos.

  • Adam and Amanises arranged for Leodero to fight Stiano so Stiano would not notice Kronos’s apotheosis.
  • Adam used the Blasphemy Slate to suppress the True Creator’s kingdom of corruption while Amon lamented that Adam had abandoned their tacit understanding and left without completing his preparations.
  • Kronos used the Hermit Uniqueness and the Light of Knowledge to gain the Knowledge Torrent’s recognition and begin his transformation into the Hermit.
  • After receiving Kronos’s notification, Adam drew on the Chaos Sea, prompting Leodero and the other two to retreat.
  • Lilith suggested that she and Amanises kill Stiano and give his Beyonder characteristics to Kronos, and Amanises began considering the plan.

Ch. 484Taking control of the Moses Ascetic Order

After mastering his new authorities, Kronos restored history, took control of the Moses Ascetic Order, and returned home to reunite with his family. He monitored Klein and Amon’s plans while waiting for an opportunity to draw Stiano out of the Perfect Land.

  • Amanises refused Lilith’s suggestion to make decisions for Kronos, and Adam left the Forsaken Land after the conflict ended without accepting Stiano’s overture.
  • Kronos mastered his authorities, revised history so his family remembered him, and decided to take over the Moses Ascetic Order while keeping the Hidden Sage’s disappearance secret.
  • Kronos freed the sealed Sage, restored him to full strength, and won Fletcher’s loyalty before reorganizing the Moses Ascetic Order.
  • Amon broke with Adam and allied with Leodero, Aucuses, and Herabergen, hoping to become the Lord of the Mysteries without Adam’s help.
  • Kronos returned to Midseashire and enjoyed time with his family while watching Klein’s Marionette Town and Verdu, hoping Mr. Door’s return or Klein and Amon’s struggle would lure Stiano out of the Perfect Land.

Ch. 485A surprise attack

Verdu performed a ritual to bring Bethel Abraham back, but the summoned Flesh Door killed him as Mr. Door emerged and the true gods clashed over his return. Amon left with Mr. Door while Kronos waited for Stiano, then used the Lamp of Knowledge to paralyze him and set up a fatal attack.

  • Verdu contacted the Red Angel Evil Spirit, who provided three demigod sacrifices for the ritual to free Bethel Abraham.
  • Kronos warned Klein that Amon was about to become a god, prompting Klein to leave Utopia and seek Bernadette.
  • Verdu completed the ritual, but the sacrifices formed a Flesh Door and he died as Mr. Door forced his way through.
  • Lilith, Amanises, Leodero, Aucuses, and Herabergen fought amid the Mother Goddess of Depravity's corruption while Amon persuaded Mr. Door to leave with him.
  • Stiano arrived and attacked Leodero, but Kronos used the Lamp of Knowledge to paralyze him, allowing Leodero's lightning and a hand through Stiano's chest to strike him.

Ch. 486Out in the open

Kronos revealed himself as the Hermit and confronted Stiano, exposing his role in the attacks on Stiano and the Church of Steam and Machinery. As Amanises and the others restrained Stiano’s potential allies, Kronos pursued him and gained the upper hand in their fight.

  • Kronos appeared behind Stiano, wounded him, and introduced himself to the True Gods as a newly advanced Hermit.
  • Kronos revealed that he had impersonated Horamick and plundered the Perfect Land, then reminded Stiano of the Church of Steam and Machinery’s schemes against his family.
  • Kronos urged Leodero and the others to make peace with Adam because the Outer Deities threatened their world, while Stiano used the confusion to flee.
  • Amanises held Leodero and the others back as Kronos chased Stiano, who resisted Kronos’s attempt to immobilize him with the Light of Knowledge.
  • Kronos battered Stiano with punches and then suppressed his authority with the Light of Knowledge, leaving Stiano at a disadvantage.

Ch. 487Stiano Was Done For

Kronos defeated and killed Stiano, taking his Beyonder characteristics after the other True Gods stood back. Amon then completed his apotheosis as Error, unaware that he had lost his allies, while the assembled True Gods waited for him to make a move.

  • Kronos used time-spanning punches to keep Stiano’s chest wound from healing, and Amanises persuaded the other True Gods to stop fighting.
  • Stiano detonated two Angel-level Beyonder Items, but Kronos turned their explosion into mystical knowledge and gathered it with his Wings of Light.
  • Kronos overwhelmed Stiano, rejected his plea for mercy, and killed him with the Judgment Revolver after issuing a judgment against Paragon Beyonders.
  • Kronos collected Stiano’s three Enlightener Beyonder characteristics and Uniqueness while the other True Gods waited nearby.
  • Amon completed his apotheosis ritual and became Error, announcing his presence to the True Gods.
  • Amon expected his allies to join the fight, but they had abandoned him and waited for him to act against their overwhelming numbers.

Ch. 488Taking over the Church of Steam and Machinery

Kronos gave Bernadette the Enlightener Beyonder Characteristic Roselle had secured for her and persuaded her to stay at the Church of Steam and Machinery to reconnect with Bornova. He then stabilized Stiano’s collapsing Divine Kingdom and took control of the Church of Steam and Machinery, leaving its resources and influence to rebuild.

  • Amon waited for Klein to appear, then left when no one came, while Kronos set out to find Bernadette aboard the Dawn of Elements.
  • Kronos told Bernadette that Roselle had arranged a Sequence One Beyonder Characteristic for her and revealed that Stiano was dead by presenting the Enlightener Beyonder Characteristic.
  • Kronos persuaded Bernadette to visit Bornova at the Church of Steam and Machinery, and she agreed after making arrangements for the Dawn of Elements.
  • Kronos entered the Cathedral of Machinery and used his power to stabilize the collapsing Perfect Land after Stiano’s fall.
  • Ivan and Greenton knelt and pledged themselves to Kronos, while Kronos used the Paragon Uniqueness to command the emotionless servants of the Perfect Land and take over the church.
  • Kronos discovered that the Church of Steam and Machinery faced shortages after its resources had been stolen, and realized he had been the thief who had given those resources to the Argel Family.

Ch. 489City of Civilization

Kronos combined power from the Moses Ascetic Order's space and the remains of the Perfect Land to create the City of Civilization and take over the vacant defensive position in the Astral World. After the Church of Steam and Machinery publicized his transformation and faith strengthened his defenses, Bernadette arrived at the Cathedral of Machinery to honor her agreement with him.

  • Kronos extracted the Hermit Pathway's power from the Moses Ascetic Order's space and combined it with the remains of the Perfect Land to form a foundation for his Divine Kingdom.
  • With Amanises's guidance, Kronos claimed the vacant position in the True Gods' defensive line and shaped the City of Civilization as an ancient city built on a golden lotus.
  • Inextinguishable Ravings and the High-Dimensional Overseer probed Kronos, but the River of Civilization shielded his Divine Kingdom from their attacks.
  • The Church of Steam and Machinery publicized the City of Civilization as a transformation of the Perfect Land, and its followers' faith fueled an ever-burning Light of Civilization.
  • Bernadette, uncertain whether Kronos could control the situation, went to the Cathedral of Machinery and recalled visiting it with Roselle as a child.

Ch. 490Fate

Bernadette joined the Church of Steam and Machinery as its new Pope to stay near Bornova, while Kronos expanded his influence over the Moses Ascetic Order. After enduring probes from the Outer Deities, Kronos completed the reconciliation of his Authorities of Time and Fate, causing Ouroboros, Will, and the Circle of Inevitability to sense the change.

  • Bornova welcomed Bernadette to the Church of Steam and Machinery and showed her the Cathedral of Machinery before bringing her to Kronos.
  • Kronos appointed Bernadette as Pope, while Ivan became the leader of the Moses Ascetic Order.
  • News spread that Bernadette had replaced Ivan and that the Hidden Sage had recovered, allowing the Moses Ascetic Order to begin expanding with the True Gods' tacit approval.
  • Kronos endured probes from numerous Outer Deities behind the defenses of the City of Civilization, then focused more attention on the Astral World as the attacks subsided.
  • Kronos completed the transformation of his Authority of Time and merged it with the Authority of Fate, swallowing the mark on his arm and reaching the level of a Dual-Pathway True God.
  • Ouroboros paused his prayer, Will cried in Backlund, and the Circle of Inevitability sensed that Kronos's change in fate was connected to the new god.

Ch. 491Starting over

After gaining the authority of fate, Kronos visited Roselle and used the River of Time to sever the Mother Goddess of Depravity’s corruption. Roselle returned to his youth, giving him a chance to start over on the Black Emperor Pathway.

  • The Circle of Inevitability secretly shifted its position to face Kronos, intending to draw him into a fight.
  • Kronos brought Bernadette and Bornova to Roselle and learned that Bornova remained deeply influenced by Stiano.
  • Kronos tried to alter Roselle’s history at its source but abandoned the attempt when fate’s resistance made the consequences too dangerous.
  • Kronos rewound Roselle’s temporal state to before his journey to the moon, severing the Mother Goddess of Depravity’s connection to him.
  • Kronos continued the rewind until Roselle returned to an ordinary young man before becoming a Savant, allowing him to pursue the Black Emperor Pathway again.

Ch. 492Invasion of the Outer Deities

Kronos and Amanises prepared to watch Klein’s battle with Amon, but Amon’s alliance with the Outer Deities forced the gods to defend the Astral World. Adam took over Amanises’s post so she could confront Amon, while Kronos struggled against two Outer Deities and risked combining the Hermit and Paragon authorities.

  • Roselle returned to the Republic of Intis to become a lawyer and begin advancing along the Black Emperor Pathway, while Kronos returned to his Divine Kingdom.
  • Amanises told Kronos that Klein and Amon were about to fight for the position of Lord of the Mysteries, but the Outer Deities launched an attack before they could leave to watch.
  • Adam arrived at Darkened Heaven and took responsibility for the defensive line, freeing Amanises to leave and confront Amon.
  • Amon tried to use the First Blasphemy Slate to draw on the Chaos Sea, but Adam blocked him, leaving Amon to face Amanises without that power.
  • Kronos fought the Supernova Dominator and the Circle of Inevitability, then activated the City of Civilization when their attacks injured him.
  • Kronos summoned the Enlightener Beyonder Characteristic and Paragon Uniqueness to strengthen himself, but the Hermit and Paragon authorities began struggling inside his body and stirred a frenzied impulse.

Ch. 493Authority

Kronos calmed the warring Hermit and Paragon authorities, then used their affinity to begin fusing them and accelerated time to complete the initial fusion. As the City of Civilization neared collapse, he faced the Supernova Dominator and the Circle of Inevitability, who forced him outside the city and directed an attack at him.

  • Kronos used the Nine Secrets to keep the Hermit and Paragon authorities from overwhelming his mind, then discovered that the Knowledge Mentor and Scholar of Yore could ease their hostility.
  • Kronos used those powers to bring the authorities together and bait the Paragon authority into being swallowed by the Hermit's Authority.
  • Kronos accelerated time for himself until the authorities completed their initial fusion, then went to the city wall to repair its defenses as the City of Civilization neared defeat.
  • The Circle of Inevitability used fate to move Kronos outside the city and ensure the Supernova Dominator's next attack would target him.
  • Kronos met the attack with the Knowledge Torrent, analyzed its physical and mystical nature, and slowed time across the battlefield to continue his analysis.

Ch. 494Darkness returned

Kronos fought the Supernova Dominator while the Circle of Inevitability trapped him in a repeating cycle, but he broke free by combining physical abilities and manipulating fate. Amanises returned, defeated Amon, and left Klein with Amon’s Error and Door pathway characteristics.

  • The Circle of Inevitability advised the Supernova Dominator to reveal his Starlight Lizard form and attack Kronos at close range.
  • The Circle of Inevitability trapped Kronos and the Supernova Dominator in a repeating cycle, but Kronos borrowed physical enhancements from multiple pathways to withstand the lizard’s blows.
  • Kronos used the power of fate to unravel the loop, then found the Circle of Inevitability blocking his escape as the Supernova Dominator closed in.
  • Kronos spotted a black mark in the Astral World and struck the Supernova Dominator toward it, where Amanises’s darkness bound him.
  • Amanises defeated Amon, kept an angel-level avatar from escaping only out of consideration for Adam, and took Amon’s main body.
  • Amanises extracted the Error and Door pathway characteristics from Amon and gave them to Klein before leaving.

Ch. 495A contest of strategy

Amanises returned from dealing with Amon and joined Kronos against the Supernova Dominator and the Circle of Inevitability, while the Outer Deities tried to exploit the ongoing battles. As Kronos and the Circle of Inevitability remained locked in a contest over fate, the gods received memories of Kronos’s advance preparations, setting the stage for a counterattack.

  • Amanises arrived to help Kronos, who broke free of the Circle of Inevitability’s loop and knocked the Supernova Dominator toward her.
  • Amanises struck the Supernova Dominator with the powers of darkness, death, and twilight, but he tore away the decaying flesh and tried to sow discord by mentioning Amon’s failure.
  • The Inextinguishable Ravings left Herabergen and attacked Adam at the Corpse Cathedral, while Primordial Hunger took Herabergen’s place and swallowed his divine kingdom.
  • Amanises and the Supernova Dominator fought evenly as Kronos and the Circle of Inevitability clashed through fate, each unable to defeat the other.
  • Kronos revealed that he had traveled into the past to warn the gods and make plans, causing the present gods to gain those memories and prepare to counterattack.

Ch. 496The truth of the world (finale)

Amanises, Adam, Aucuses, and Leodero carried out Kronos’s plan against the Outer Deities, and Leodero helped Kronos defeat the Circle of Inevitability. Before Kronos could kill him, a monstrous being erased Kronos and restored the world to its predetermined plot, revealing that Kronos had been an intruder from another world.

  • Amanises used eternal darkness to drive off the Supernova Dominator and trap the Uncertain Mist, giving Adam an opening to unleash the Chaos Sea’s power.
  • Two Outer Deities turned on Adam, so Amanises raised her Divine Kingdom to protect him while Aucuses kept the Monarch of Decay occupied and Leodero flew to help Kronos.
  • Kronos trapped the fleeing Circle of Inevitability with a torrent of knowledge, and Leodero used the Judgment Revolver and lightning to leave him on the verge of death.
  • As Kronos moved to kill the Circle of Inevitability, a tentacled, scaled monster froze space-time, called Kronos a stowaway, and erased him and every trace of his existence.
  • The world reverted to its predetermined plot, while Kronos appeared in a rented room and complained about being kicked out before deciding to try infiltrating a manga world.
