Moroes walked out, but he had not refused Karin's request.
Karin returned to the narrow desk in his room and opened the Notebook.
After all, this was Karazhan. The countless spaces throughout the tower were filled with magical circuits, with illusions one could fall into at the slightest misstep... The blindfold Moroes had given him did not seem to play a particularly crucial role.
More importantly, those illusions revealed everything about the future...
In his previous life, Khadgar had seen himself utterly stripped of his youth and magic by Medivh in those illusions; Marshal Windsor had seen that he would die to Onyxia's breath...
Karin was thankful-thankful that he had once discussed these matters with the All-Knowing Eye!
He turned the Notebook to page sixty-four, and his memories returned to the past.
Back then, he had just returned from Northrend and was still an ordinary Second Ring Mage.
It had been a fine, breezy afternoon. He had been quietly meditating in the woods where he had first met Liadrin.
When his mind grew a little tired, a question suddenly occurred to him:
So he asked softly, "All-Knowing Eye, how do you assess the situation around me and the probabilities of things about to happen... through deduction? Calculation? Or pure guesswork?"
"No, none of those... prophecy?" The All-Knowing Eye's voice was as cold as ever.
"Prophecy?" Karin was somewhat astonished.
"In the year 3528 of the era, Lord Kassas slew Nexxus, king of the Golden Dragons, on Mount Celestia and preserved his brain..." the All-Knowing Eye explained. "Golden Dragons possess powerful innate prophetic magic. Naturally, the All-Knowing Eye, made using his brain, also possesses powerful prophetic abilities!"
"So you use prophetic spells to determine what's about to happen, and that's how you obtain this information and these probabilities?" Karin continued.
