"I counted them: eleven named corpses that were very likely legendary creatures, six new Exceptional weapons, the recovered Penitent Armor, and the Experimental Death Plague Stabilizer."
Yang Yi read out the list of items he had collected and asked Su Na to help check them.
Had he not been worried about encountering an Abyss Scavenger, Yang Yi reckoned he would have tried to recover more items.
But he dared not gamble with his life. With his attributes so low, encountering an Abyss Scavenger would probably have been the end of him, with almost no chance of escape.
"Where are these eleven legendary creature corpses?
There are clearly only five."
Su Na reported after finishing her count.
"What!"
Yang Yi was shocked, then realized what had happened.
A bizarre scene unfolded aboard the ship: the tongues inside the Maw of Gluttony split into two groups and tangled with each other, neither able to overcome the other.
"You ate the corpses?
I told you the legendary creature corpses would be useful!"
Yang Yi snapped in exasperation.
"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?
Are you really saying you didn't want to eat them at all? Answer me that!"
The Maw of Gluttony neither backed down nor denied eating those corpses. Instead, it questioned Yang Yi.
Su Na stood to one side, silently watching Yang Yi perform his one-man show.
The Maw of Gluttony was clearly much more animated than before and no longer stuttered when it spoke. It seemed to be growing stronger and might even take control in the future.
But judging by Yang Yi's and the Maw of Gluttony's recent behavior, the mouth seemed to be the same person as Yang Yi. What would happen in the future was hard to say...
