Su Na steered the Nightmare Star back to the waters near where Crystal Island had once stood.
There was no longer any sign that a massive island had ever existed here.
Snow no longer fell from the sky, and the temperature was rising rapidly after the hurricane and torrential rain had subsided. The seawater had turned murky, as though mixed with vast quantities of sewage. Some floating corpses and rotten wood even drifted on the surface, the latter apparently fragments of hulls from ships damaged and sunk in the earlier hurricane.
Su Na took a quick look, then pulled out the Eye of Greed Telescope to survey the surroundings. Just as the Sea Chart showed, Crystal Island had become a scattering of islands. On them stood vegetation reduced to bare trunks, as well as motionless corpses with only their heads and torsos remaining.
"What exactly happened here?"
Su Na frowned, feeling that something momentous had happened here.
The only person who knew the truth was Yang Yi, but he refused to discuss it, saying they would talk later.
"No signs of life detected on the sea surface or the surrounding islands."
