Chapters 626–650 Vol. 7 Read

Ch. 626Breaking free

Su Na severed Steam Island’s dangerous production lines, but the unknown creature retaliated by controlling the allied robots and destroying her helmet. As sea monsters attacked the island and dragged the metal box and factories underwater, Yang Yi escaped the collapsing area, and Su Na concluded that suppressing the creature was necessary to occupy the island.

  • Su Na cut the production lines, shutting down the enemy robots, but Gog shot her helmet before a tentacle grabbed him and Yang Yi nearly swallowed him.
  • Yang Yi restrained the affected allied robots while Su Na healed her injured hands, and Yu Dawei proved he had resisted the mental attack before helping shut down the others.
  • Steam Island shook as a sea monster wrapped around its remaining leg and began dragging the giant robot underwater.
  • Mouth-covered tentacles attacked the metal box, and Yang Yi rescued the others before escaping as the box and connected factories were hauled into the water.
  • Su Na deduced that occupying the island required eliminating and suppressing the creature, then a crushing sound and shifting lights came from below.

Ch. 627Souls and machines

Yang Yi, Su Na, and Yu Dawei discovered that the Original Source of Rust was a colossal sea monster whose many souls revived machines and restored factories. As the monster’s mental temptations drove Yu Dawei toward it and pursued the group, Yang Yi resisted and Su Na’s pendant triggered a strange power that made nearby objects float.

  • Bizarre tentacles revived fallen mechs with multicolored soul-like radiance and thrust themselves into dismantled factories to restart them.
  • The Original Source of Rust emerged as a gigantic, beautiful mechanical head surrounded by tentacles, and Su Na concluded that it and the tentacles had once been one creature.
  • Yang Yi urged the others to escape Steam Island as the sea monster dragged it toward the deep sea and revived robots and tentacles pursued them.
  • The monster tried to tempt Yang Yi and the others with promises tailored to their desires, but Yang Yi resisted while Yu Dawei succumbed and had to be stopped.
  • Su Na’s hair turned white as the objects around her, including seawater and debris, began floating and stopping in midair.

Ch. 628I'll blow up with you

Yang Yi, Su Na, and their companions fought through the Sea Monster’s assault as they tried to escape Steam Island. Su Na opened a path out, and Yang Yi escaped with Yu Dawei while the trapped tentacles exploded behind them.

  • Su Na Na used a powerful spell to blast the Sea Monster’s tentacles and destroy nearby pursuing robots.
  • Yu Dawei told Yang Yi he planned to sacrifice himself, but Yang Yi threw him toward the Sea Monster and then reeled in his separated, flying head.
  • The Sea Monster ambushed the group at the exit and attacked them with mental assaults and tentacles.
  • Su Na twisted the tentacles blocking the opening into a compact sphere, allowing Yang Yi and Yu Dawei to escape Steam Island.
  • After they left, Su Na’s force vanished and the tentacle sphere spun backward and exploded into a vortex storm.

Ch. 629Nuclear explosion

Yu Dawei detonated himself in a nuclear explosion that destroyed the sea monster’s tentacles and severely damaged Yang Yi. The survivors reached the Iron Will, and Yu Dawei took control as the ship escaped the whirlpool caused by the blast.

  • Yu Dawei’s separated body charged the Soul Leviathan and detonated a nuclear explosion inside Steam Island.
  • Yang Yi swallowed Su Na and Yu Dawei to shield them from the blast, then used his sword and fire to withstand the impact.
  • The explosion devastated Yang Yi’s body and created a towering water column and a massive whirlpool that pulled the Iron Will toward the sea.
  • Yang Yi reached the Iron Will and spat out Su Na, Yu Dawei, Cui Xiya, Xiaoji, and the other robots.
  • Yu Dawei steered the Iron Will away from the whirlpool while Yang Yi’s Maw of Gluttony devoured sea monster corpses to repair him.

Ch. 630The rising Steam Island

Steam Island survived the nuclear explosion and rose from the sea in a grotesquely transformed, gigantic form, revealing that the Soul Leviathan had taken it over. Yang Yi sent Su Na to defend the Iron Will while he swam toward the island, as the damaged monster began emergency repairs.

  • After the whirlpool faded, Yang Yi stayed alert and warned the others when tentacles and a vast shadow rose beneath the sea.
  • Yu Dawei tried to retreat the Iron Will, but fear overwhelmed him when he realized the nuclear blast had not killed the creature.
  • Steam Island emerged with its top blown open, its machinery still running, and tentacles gathering sea monster corpses.
  • Yang Yi warned Su Na that the island might counterattack, and she summoned her Soul Armament weapons to protect the ship.
  • Yang Yi outfitted himself with warped limbs and swam toward Steam Island while Su Na prepared the ship's weapons.
  • The Soul Leviathan's damaged head appeared atop the risen island as Engineering Robots rushed to repair it.

Ch. 631Call Me the Salt King

Yang Yi used the Fake Salt Spike to become the Salt King and appeared beside Steam Island on a salt palanquin, drawing the Soul Leviathan’s attention away from the fleeing Iron Will. After Su Na snapped him out of his royal behavior, he prepared to fight the beast.

  • The Soul Leviathan pursued the Iron Will, attacking it with a tentacle arm while Yu Dawei, Su Na, and Cui Xiya defended the ship.
  • Yang Yi appeared beside Steam Island on a salt palanquin carried by giants, and his subjects built a towering staircase at his royal command.
  • Yang Yi urged the Salt Folk to hurry because his Qi and Blood were declining and he risked entering the Refuse Death state.
  • The Salt Folk intercepted Steam Island’s attacks on Yang Yi’s palanquin, while the Soul Leviathan’s pressure on the Iron Will eased.
  • Su Na called out to Yang Yi, breaking his royal fixation, and he said he would kill the sea monster and demanded to be called the Salt King.

Ch. 632The strongest... was the king, of course

Yang Yi commanded the Star-Chasing Knights to attack the Soul Leviathan, then struck it down with the King's Sword. The Soul Leviathan's head shattered, while the Iron Will continued fleeing.

  • Yang Yi summoned 120 Star-Chasing Knights, who charged across the air toward Steam Island and withered the Soul Leviathan's tentacles.
  • The Soul Leviathan tried to tempt Yang Yi and attack his mind, but Yang Yi resisted and made it feel insignificant.
  • The Star-Chasing Knights attacked the Soul Leviathan's head, but their lances only scratched its armor.
  • Yang Yi took the King's Sword and enlarged it, then slashed through the Soul Leviathan's skull.
  • Yang Yi delivered over a thousand rapid slashes, shattering the Soul Leviathan's head into metal chunks.

Ch. 633Occupying Steam Island, Part One

Yang Yi defeated the Soul Leviathan but nearly died when the Fake Salt Spike drained his Qi and Blood. Su Na pulled it free aboard the Iron Will, and Yang Yi began rebuilding his disintegrating body by consuming sea monster corpses and a Proliferative Potion.

  • Yang Yi killed the Soul Leviathan, leaving its tentacles and the remaining defenders to fight the island’s rampaging remnants as Steam Island sank.
  • Yu Dawei turned the Iron Will back toward Steam Island after seeing Yang Yi’s victory, while Su Na warned that Yang Yi was close to death.
  • Yang Yi read Su Na’s messages, discovered he had only 1 Qi and Blood left, and realized he could not remove the Fake Salt Spike himself.
  • Yang Yi promised the Salt Folk he would return, then leaped down to the Iron Will and urged Su Na to save him quickly.
  • Su Na pulled the Fake Salt Spike from Yang Yi’s neck, causing his body to dissolve into salt; the Greedy Maw of Gluttony consumed sea monster corpses and a Proliferative Potion to repair him.

Ch. 634Occupying Steam Island, Part Two

Yang Yi and the Iron Brotherhood cleared the remaining threats on Steam Island after the Salt Spike’s removal left Yang Yi badly damaged and the island partially submerged. The players reached the corrupted Finite Miracle Factory, and the system announced that Player Island No. 03 had been fully explored and occupied.

  • Yang Yi ate Sea Monster remains to stop his body from turning into salt, while Su Na treated her injured arm and Yu Dawei recovered from madness.
  • Yang Yi warned that Steam Island still held some threats and needed to be cleared before it sank, and Yu Dawei said the Iron Brotherhood would join him within an hour.
  • Two hours later, Yang Yi and the Iron Brotherhood entered Steam Island and eliminated the few remaining Grotesque Tentacles and Robots.
  • Yang Yi’s group found the Finite Miracle Factory transformed, its pipes replaced by fleshy tendrils connected to the factories.
  • After the players destroyed the last Robots, blue pillars of light appeared and the system announced that Player Island No. 03 had been fully explored and occupied.

Ch. 635Occupying Steam Island, Part Two

After the fleets occupied Steam Island, Yang Yi and Yu Dawei received system rewards and began planning how to divide the spoils, while Su Na theorized that the player system was embedded in players. Shen Guanquan received news of the occupation and a coming system maintenance, leaving his own fleet’s next move undecided.

  • Shen Guanquan considered whether to expand the New World Fleet’s mobile city or pursue a Player Island, then dismissed Eden Fleet’s invitation to develop Dream Island.
  • Shen Guanquan recalled that his experiments through the Black Parrot Pirate Group had led to severe sin marks after they robbed a Radiant Holy Church supply ship, and that the survivors had renamed themselves the Black Sesame Pirates Group.
  • Shen Guanquan received a system announcement that Player Island No. 03 had been occupied and that the system would undergo 24 hours of emergency maintenance.
  • Yang Yi and the players on Steam Island learned that the island had been occupied, with Yang Yi’s fleet receiving the highest access privileges and a large number of player points.
  • Su Na told Yang Yi that the system might be rooted inside players and could be responsible for player exposure, while Yang Yi discussed dividing the Soul Leviathan’s corpse and other spoils with Yu Dawei.

Ch. 636Upgrade

After gathering the Soul Leviathan’s remains, strange tentacles, robots, and a rusted Mechanical Big Swordfish, Yang Yi upgraded the Nightmare Star. The ship grew to sixty meters and gained metallic bones, green tentacle-like vines, and a Soul Leviathan-like figurehead.

  • Yang Yi cleared the remaining underwater threats and collected more shriveled strange tentacles, leaving the Soul Leviathan’s body almost entirely destroyed.
  • Yang Yi decided to use the Soul Leviathan’s Skull and remains as legendary upgrade material, then rebuilt the Nightmare Star.
  • Su Na used a potion to rust a Mechanical Big Swordfish, and Yang Yi bought it from Yu Dawei to serve as the exceptional relic required for the upgrade.
  • The Nightmare Star consumed the robots, the rusted fish, the Soul Leviathan’s Skull, and the nearby remains, growing to sixty meters long.
  • The upgraded Nightmare Star remained a Skeleton Ship, but its bones turned metallic, its vines became green strange tentacles, and it gained a four-eyed Soul Leviathan-like figurehead.

Ch. 637Endless Nightmare

Yang Yi and Su Na examined the Nightmare Star's powerful new abilities and expanded Witch Laboratory after its upgrade. While the crew recovered wreckage on Steam Island, Yang Yi and the Iron Brotherhood discussed their plans, with the Brotherhood intending to remain on the island and Yang Yi deciding to stay for a while.

  • Yang Yi inspected the upgraded Nightmare Star, noted its increased durability, capacity, and speed, and deduced that the Eden might use a similar skill to send players into dreams.
  • Su Na explored the expanded Witch Laboratory and found that its research materials and living creatures had survived the ship's destruction.
  • The Nightmare Star's crew and the Iron Brotherhood continued salvaging sea monster remains and recovering robots from Steam Island.
  • Yang Yi, Yu Dawei, Zhang Zhi, and others discussed their plans and how to distribute interests on Steam Island.
  • The Iron Brotherhood planned to rest on Steam Island, while Yang Yi chose to stay for a while, knowing he could return or teleport away with the Nightmare Star.

Ch. 638Twisted Finite Miracle Factory

After Steam Island finished formatting, Yang Yi and the others inspected its new Player Island interface and learned about the Twisted Finite Miracle Factory. They began considering how to develop the island, but its enormous costs and the need to capture a Leviathan left its future uncertain.

  • The Finite Miracle Factory completed formatting, and the system repaired Steam Island before adding its interface to the Sailing Log.
  • Yang Yi discovered that he held Steam Island's highest authority and read about its factories, capabilities, and sea-monster disaster.
  • Su Na privately suggested that the factory might have been designed to limit humanity's technological progress and that Steam Island could be a social experiment.
  • Yu Dawei celebrated the factory as a way to create his new body and learned that it could convert ordinary player ships into Twisted Metal Warships.
  • Zhang Zhi warned that the blueprints had been erased and that operating the island would require vast resources, including a Leviathan core to reduce production costs.
  • Yang Yi and the others faced the prospect of capturing a deep-sea Leviathan, even though a Leviathan might have caused Steam Island's destruction.

Ch. 639System update

After the system announced that maintenance had ended and Steam Island was occupied, Yang Yi checked his rewards and examined the newly updated Player Island information. He learned how much he and the others had earned and reviewed the islands’ exploration details, leaving him curious about the newly revealed Miracle Island and Green Island.

  • The system announced Steam Island’s occupation, distributed 1,000 Player Points to every surviving player, and introduced updates to chat, trading, and the Player Island interface.
  • Yang Yi checked his Activity Log and found his combined rewards totaled 1,178,432 Player Points, then asked Su Na how many she had received.
  • Su Na told Yang Yi to repay the points he had borrowed with interest, while Cui Xiya reported receiving 22,250 points.
  • Yang Yi learned that Su Na had over 410,000 points, Yu Dawei had over 270,000, and each Iron Brotherhood member had received at least 5,000 points.
  • Yang Yi reviewed the updated Player Island listings and World Sea Chart, noting the islands’ exploration progress, locations, and danger levels.
  • Yang Yi considered the newly revealed Miracle Island, discovered by Zhou Dai, and wondered whether Green Island was dominated by plants.

Ch. 640Other developments and Steam Island's development

Lord Abu learned that One-Eye had occupied Steam Island, overturning his Precognitive Dream and prompting the New World Fleet to reject his invitation. Yang Yi arranged to bring new players to Steam Island, set plans for its development, and prepared to spend his Player Points.

  • Lord Abu discovered that One-Eye had occupied Steam Island and blamed the Bald Werewolf for changing his Precognitive Dream.
  • Shen Guanquan had Zhao Tie Tou reply to Eden's invitation and privately asked Xu Da about cooperating.
  • Ma Dabao told Yang Yi that the One-Eye Cult had three million Archbishops, and Yang Yi agreed to let up to ten thousand come to Steam Island.
  • Yang Yi granted Yu Dawei and Zhang Zhi permissions to coordinate management as Steam Island headed toward the Shelter, a journey expected to take several years.
  • Yang Yi and Yu Dawei planned a Gacha, supply purchases, and tests of the Magic Stone Conversion Factory, and decided to open Steam Island to other players in seven days.
  • Yang Yi canceled his Wolf Transformation and considered how to spend his Player Points.

Ch. 641Draws and enhancements

Yang Yi and Su Na examined new Vending Machine items and enhanced their talents with Player Points. Yang Yi planned to use a New Player Registration Card on Xiaoji and spend the remaining points strengthening their team.

  • Yang Yi bought a New Player Registration Card after realizing it might work on Xiaoji, a player's derivative.
  • Yang Yi and Su Na speculated that the system had grown stronger by analyzing the Finite Miracle Factory and was now offering players new abilities and combat robots.
  • Yang Yi enhanced his "refuse death" talent into "refuse death+," while Su Na upgraded "forbidden scholar" into "forbidden scholar+."
  • Yang Yi kept his remaining points instead of buying a Talent Expansion Card or mystery boxes, and planned to register Xiaoji and enhance Cui Xiya's and Xiaoji's talents before buying Expansion Buildings Cards and mystery boxes.

Ch. 642Draws and enhancements, part two

Yang Yi registered Xiaoji as a player and discovered that his Mechanical Lifeform body could be rebuilt after destruction. He helped Cui Xiya enhance her talent, then prepared to spend his remaining Player Points on Expansion Buildings and blind boxes.

  • Yang Yi paid Su Na 210,000 Player Points in exchange for agreeing to provide 500 million in research funding later.
  • Yang Yi used a Crew Registration Card to register Xiaoji as a player and learned that Xiaoji could return to life if his body parts were reassembled.
  • Yang Yi found Cui Xiya in the Lookout designing a transforming mech modeled after him and the Long-Legged Sardine.
  • Yang Yi let Cui Xiya use the Vending Machine to draw talents, and she gained Memory Palace+ and Strongman.
  • Yang Yi spent another 100,000 points to enhance Cui Xiya's Strongman talent, raising her Strength to 5 at its peak.
  • Yang Yi checked his remaining 1.6 million Player Points and prepared to draw Expansion Buildings and blind boxes.

Ch. 643Upgrades and draws, part three

Yang Yi spent heavily drawing Expansion Buildings for the Nightmare Star and eventually obtained the unique Abyss Nautilus, a living creature that could serve as underwater transport once mature. He left it with Su Na to study and care for, then prepared to spend his remaining 1.4 million player points on mystery boxes.

  • Yang Yi made 109 draws from the small Expansion Building cards, collecting common buildings and stopping when his final 20 draws were duplicates.
  • Yang Yi switched to large Expansion Building cards and eventually drew a Drowned Dead Torpedo, then spent 75,000 points on ten more duplicate draws.
  • Yang Yi kept drawing and obtained the unique special building Abyss Nautilus after slapping the vending machine's button.
  • Yang Yi constructed the building, hatched the Abyss Nautilus, and placed it in a bucket of water, where it ate a Long-Legged Sardine.
  • Yang Yi took the Abyss Nautilus to Su Na's Witch's Laboratory for care and study, then returned to prepare to spend his remaining points on mystery boxes.

Ch. 644The Disrespectful

Yang Yi spent his player points on large mystery box pulls, hoping for powerful rewards, and eventually obtained a unique talent called “The Disrespectful.” He told Su Na about the discovery and suggested she try pulling mystery boxes the next time they had plenty of points.

  • Yang Yi began opening large mystery boxes and received supplies, coupons, and Combat Robot Gacha rewards.
  • After a hundred pulls, Yang Yi obtained a High-level Artisan Inscription Stone and found that he had also wasted several guaranteed rewards on Combat Robot Gacha.
  • Yang Yi continued pulling through his remaining points, with little expectation of getting another valuable reward.
  • On his 170th pull, Yang Yi obtained the unique talent “The Disrespectful,” which increased his Spirit and boosted all attributes when facing an overwhelming presence.
  • Yang Yi messaged Su Na about the talent and proposed that she try opening mystery boxes when they had more points.

Ch. 645Post-battle recovery and Steam Island development

After the battle, Yang Yi sorted his rewards, upgraded the Nightmare Star’s buildings, and assessed the steep requirements for its next upgrade. He then began developing Steam Island into a gathering place and commercial district for players.

  • Yang Yi gave Su Na the inscription stone and Abyss Soulstones, stored his other rewards, and planned to sell most of them for Conch Coins.
  • Yang Yi upgraded the Great Statue, Glass Cannon, Ancient War Room, Lookout, and gym to level five, then installed the Glass Cannon at the Nightmare Star’s stern.
  • Yang Yi saw that upgrading the Nightmare Star to level seven required large quantities of materials and five Hero-level treasures, putting the upgrade beyond his immediate reach.
  • Yang Yi submerged Steam Island until only its broad surface platform remained and found extra mobile Vending Machines left behind by the system.
  • Yang Yi and Yu Dawei decided to turn Steam Island’s surface into a commercial district where players could gather and trade face-to-face.

Ch. 646Infinite Flintlock

Yang Yi oversaw preparations for Player Island and used the Soul Skull to produce Abyss Soul Stones, upgrading his Roaring Flintlock into a hero-level weapon called the Infinite Flintlock. He tested its new infinite mode with a powerful shot and left himself with a twelve-hour cooldown before he could try it again.

  • Yang Yi continued feeding monster remains and robot wreckage into the Gacha Machine while Xiaoji and the Iron Brotherhood brought him more materials.
  • Yang Yi activated the Soul Skull and produced one High-level, three Mid-Tier, and twelve Low-Tier Abyss Soul Stones.
  • Yang Yi used a High-level Abyss Soul Stone to upgrade the Roaring Flintlock into the hero-level Infinite Flintlock.
  • Yang Yi fired the Infinite Flintlock's infinite mode at the sea, imagining a shot like the Bow Cannon and carving a trench across the water.
  • Yang Yi received a twelve-hour cooldown and decided to test the weapon's power gradually to avoid damaging it.

Ch. 647Account banned

Yang Yi and the Iron Brotherhood sold goods from Steam Island despite having their Player Forum accounts banned, then spent three days clearing the island and organizing its operations. The island’s profits were deposited into a public account for development, while Yang Yi tested the Player Island Portal and the group planned its next construction and security upgrades.

  • Yang Yi and Yu Dawei discovered their Player Forum accounts had been banned, so Yang Yi and Zhang Zhi advertised their goods through World Chat instead.
  • Yang Yi sold Shen Guanquan all 77 Combat Robot Gacha for 77 million Conch Coins and earned more than 150 million from his other goods.
  • After three days of hauling and processing wreckage, Yang Yi and the Iron Brotherhood calculated net earnings of 1,157,279,012 and agreed to split them 60–40, with the Brotherhood managing Steam Island.
  • Yang Yi tested the Player Island Portal and learned that travel required permission, lasted up to eight hours, and triggered a one-week cooldown.
  • Yang Yi deposited the profits into a new public account for Steam Island’s development, and the group planned to buy supplies, build a commercial district, and improve defenses with Engineering Robots designed by Su Na.

Ch. 648The twisted Iron Will

Yang Yi expanded Steam Island’s construction and defenses while Yu Dawei tested a twisted warship and chose to merge it with the Iron Will. The chapter ended with the ships ready to be combined, potentially giving the Iron Will much greater speed and firepower.

  • Su Na’s first design for self-replicating Nanoscale Robots was rejected by the Finite Miracle Factory, so she created the Bigji Robot instead.
  • Yang Yi ordered Bigji Robots and defensive weapons into production and assigned the Iron Brotherhood to help build Steam Island’s commercial district and defenses.
  • As supplies arrived, Yang Yi expanded the island’s factory capacity and produced two faster, stronger Bigji Robots with Black-Gold Livery.
  • Yu Dawei and the others tested a Twisted Ship Processing Factory on a Level Six Ironclad Ship, turning it into a powerful Large Twisted Warship that Yang Yi destroyed after it became a sea monster.
  • Yu Dawei decided to use his Ship Merging Card to merge the Iron Will with the Large Twisted Warship, whose Twisted Activation could improve the Iron Will’s speed and firepower.

Ch. 649Twisted Iron Will II

Yu Dawei merged the Twisted Warship into the Iron Will, which grew to nearly five hundred meters and gained twisted flesh beneath its hull. Yang Yi and Yu Dawei then announced Steam Island’s visitor rules ahead of its first arrivals, as player reservations and payments surged.

  • Yu Dawei merged the Twisted Warship into the Iron Will, upgrading it to level six and granting it new abilities and twisted flesh.
  • Yang Yi observed the eyes, mouth-like seam, and tendrils beneath the Iron Will, while Yu Dawei tested how it fed on sea monster meat.
  • Yang Yi and Yu Dawei issued Steam Island Temporary Management Regulations, setting visitor fees and warning players to stay in the Public Activity Area.
  • Yang Yi received a flood of visitor deposits, transferred five hundred million Conch Coins to Su Na, and gave Xiaoji permission to process the records.
  • Yang Yi saw that around a million players planned to visit and outlined plans for shops, stalls, and rewards for visitors who stayed to fight during a sea monster attack.

Ch. 650The first visitors

Yang Yi welcomed the first visitors to his island, including several familiar players, as thousands arrived through Portals. A New Humanity Core Crew Member infected a player with Sakura Disease and began attacking, but sensed a dangerous presence and leaped away while visitors fled.

  • Yang Yi opened the island to 12,742 invited players, most of them Archbishops of the One-Eye Cult, as they arrived through Portals.
  • Shen Guanquan greeted Yang Yi and introduced Zhao Tie Tou and Wang Yuan, while Yu Dawei revealed himself as a headless body-in-progress.
  • He Qi arrived with Qiqi, the special Siren, and greeted Yang Yi.
  • A pink New Humanity Core Crew Member covered in cherry blossoms threatened to claim the island and spread Sakura Disease to a nearby player.
  • The infected visitor attacked with three katanas, then sensed a dangerous presence and leaped away as players scattered and some fled through their Portals.
