And he could not let Chingetsu's expectations of him come to nothing either.

Chapter 61: Is Your Head Full of Rice Balls?
"Oh-ho, this youngster has some spirit!"
Satoru Gojo propped his chin on one hand and clapped Kento Nanami hard on the shoulder with the other, speaking like an old veteran. "No wonder that guy thinks so highly of you. I'm looking forward to seeing how you do in this afternoon's practical training."
"That guy?"
Yu Haibara was rather curious about just who this person Gojo mentioned was. "Huh, is it lunchtime already?"
Satoru Gojo checked the nonexistent watch on his wrist.
"Let's go, Haibara, Nanami. Let's fill our stomachs first." Sure enough, the mention of food immediately diverted Yu Haibara's attention. A little while later, inside Jujutsu High's cafeteria.
"Look, it's Satoru Gojo!"
"Come to think of it, you hardly ever see Satoru Gojo eating in the cafeteria."
"Satoru Gojo is as handsome as ever. That languid, aloof air of his is just irresistible!" (A certain lovestruck girl.) "Handsome? Can you eat good looks?"
"But I can't eat unless he's handsome!"
Inside the cafeteria, some Windows began chattering at the arrival of Satoru Gojo and the others.
They were people who could see curses, but whose cursed energy was insufficient to translate into fighting strength. Windows were Jujutsu High's support personnel and did not fight cursed spirits directly.
Their job was to provide intelligence to Jujutsu High's sorcerers. They were intelligence personnel trained by Jujutsu High.
The Windows included both men and women.
And now, some of the female Windows collectively swooned at the sight of Satoru Gojo. Who knew what these girls had thought of?
After glancing at Satoru Gojo, they quickly withdrew their furtive gazes, a sudden blush coloring their cheeks. Satoru Gojo seemed accustomed to this.
"You're really popular, Gojo." Yu Haibara shoveled a mouthful of rice into his mouth. "The school's rice is really good too."
"Eat. Eat plenty, so you'll have the strength to take a beating." Yu Haibara: "???"
"No, I mean, you need a full stomach to have the strength for a friendly exchange with your seniors." Satoru Gojo kept stirring the instant coffee in his cup, a wicked grin on his face.
That afternoon, on Jujutsu High's training field. Masamichi Yaga stood at the edge of the field.
At the very center stood Kento Nanami and Yu Haibara, ready for battle. "I never thought practical training would mean fighting Geto and the others."
Yu Haibara turned to Kento Nanami with a smile uglier than a crying face. So you've only just realized.
Seriously, is your head full of rice balls? Kento Nanami could not help wanting to retort.
But Satoru Gojo, standing at ease before him, put him under tremendous pressure.
"Nanami, your practical training opponent is me. Haibara, your sparring partner is Suguru Geto." Satoru Gojo quickly assigned the pairs.
"Well then, shall we begin?"
Satoru Gojo stretched his legs in a warm-up movement.
The next second, Satoru Gojo vanished from Kento Nanami's sight. So fast!
Kento Nanami's pupils abruptly contracted.
He had been watching Gojo's movements ever since he began speaking. Even so, he had failed to keep up with him.
Kento Nanami instinctively held his short blade across his chest, guarding his vital areas.
That way, even if Satoru Gojo suddenly closed in, he would not be left with no room to react. Kento Nanami slowly shifted his feet.
Holding the same position for too long.
Would easily expose his openings to his opponent. Only by slowly adjusting his position.
Could he guard against an attack that might come at any moment. Kento Nanami analyzed the situation rationally.
The next instant, a low rush of wind came howling toward him.
Then, out of the corner of his eye, Kento Nanami saw a fist growing larger and larger. This was Satoru Gojo's attack.
There were no fancy tricks, nor any cursed energy. Just a punch thrown through sheer physical speed. Too late.
As was only to be expected, amid a burst of searing pain in his jaw.
Kento Nanami's feet left the ground, and he flew backward in a perfect arc.
"He's fast. Unless I can predict the path of his attacks, I'll just be a sitting duck." Kento Nanami wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, the short blade in his hand gouging a deep slash through the training field's surface. "So I can't keep staying in one place. That'll only make me a sitting duck for Gojo."
Kento Nanami looked at Satoru Gojo ahead, who was still holding his punching pose. "My jujutsu can forcibly create a weak point. That's my chance." As long as I seize that one opening, I can strike back with my blade. Kento Nanami knew there was a huge gap between him and Satoru Gojo.
But sitting around waiting to die had never been his style.
Kento Nanami spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva and stared intently at Satoru Gojo.
Chapter 62: Cursed Technique Lapse-Blue (Please Support the Stats)
"Not bad, that look in your eyes!"
Satoru Gojo saw the fighting spirit in Kento Nanami's eyes. The instant Satoru Gojo finished speaking.
Kento Nanami shot forward as well, stirring up gusts of wind!
Kento Nanami held his curse-marked short blade in a reverse grip, his rapidly advancing figure seeming to break through the resistance of the air. Kento Nanami made no probing moves.
Because he knew any probing would be pointless against Satoru Gojo. "Oh-ho, my adorable junior is getting serious!"
A sharp gleam flashed through Satoru Gojo's eyes. Faced with Kento Nanami's charge.
Satoru Gojo did not dodge. After making a running-start motion on the spot, he charged straight at the oncoming Kento Nanami. Clang!
The sound of metal striking metal rang out.
A table knife appeared in Satoru Gojo's hand.
Judging by its design, it was unmistakably a table knife from Jujutsu High's cafeteria. But at that moment.
Kento Nanami had no attention to spare for where the table knife in Satoru Gojo's hand had come from. Held in Satoru Gojo's hand, the delicate table knife easily blocked the slash of the curse-marked short blade. To an onlooker, this was almost impossible.
An ordinary table knife could not possibly clash with a short blade that already qualified as a cursed tool. The two were on entirely different levels.
Yet under Satoru Gojo's precise control of his strength, the ordinary table knife held firm against the curse-marked short blade's edge. Kento Nanami was not discouraged by the sight.
He immediately exerted force through both arms with a jolt, then spun and kicked.
Satoru Gojo calmly held the table knife across his chest and easily blocked Kento Nanami's kick. Seeing that his kick had been ineffective.
Kento Nanami made an immediate decision, using the recoil to put distance between himself and Satoru Gojo. Satoru Gojo was strong; staying entangled at close range would only make him lose faster.
Kento Nanami understood that very well.
So he could only keep observing Satoru Gojo, looking for the moment he exposed an opening. Then he would use his cursed technique to magnify that point without limit.
Kento Nanami adjusted his breathing and focused all his attention on Satoru Gojo. Satoru Gojo wasted no words either, pushing off the ground with his right foot and accelerating straight toward him.
Countless sparks flew between the table knife and the curse-marked short blade.
In one brief close-range exchange, the two clashed blades hundreds of times. Dust flew across the field, and both figures shot backward.
"The warm-up is over, Nanami."
The instant he said those words, Satoru Gojo shot forward again like a sword. Even Yu Haibara and Suguru Geto outside the field could feel that ferocious speed. As he attacked, Satoru Gojo rotated his body to build up the table knife's potential energy. Because he was moving so fast.
Satoru Gojo's figure had become somewhat blurred. It was a speed beyond human reach.
With that speed behind it, the once-delicate, finely crafted table knife had become a lethal weapon. This strike was swift and deadly.
Even a piece of alloy would have been sliced apart by this strike.
Kento Nanami did not move. He held the curse-marked short blade across his chest, his pupils twitching wildly. I can't dodge this strike!
Kento Nanami knew that very well.
If he dodged this strike, Satoru Gojo would completely suppress him afterward.
Then he truly would be powerless to turn things around.
Satoru Gojo's strike, delivered with absolute confidence, was almost upon him. He could practically feel the keen edge of its tip. "Now."
A brilliant gleam flashed in Kento Nanami's eyes. "Ratio Technique!" "Collapse!"
Instantly, Kento Nanami's curse-marked short blade met Satoru Gojo's table knife head-on. Under the effects of his jujutsu.
The curse-marked short blade forced a tiny crack into the table knife. Then the crack kept spreading.
Until it covered the entire table knife. Crack!
The table knife broke apart, shattering in midair.
A trace of surprise flashed through Satoru Gojo's eyes, and he was briefly distracted. This was the opportunity Kento Nanami had been searching for all along.
He could not create an opening in Satoru Gojo, who was far stronger than him, but that did not mean he could not lay his plans around the table knife.
