Arc 4The Byakugan Crisis and Peace
Uchiha Yan survived the battle that had left him presumed dead, then helped Konoha turn the stolen Byakugan crisis into an alliance with Kumogakure and an end to the war. He took on plans to educate Konoha’s children and shape the Uchiha Clan, while Fugaku’s clan waited to see whether Itachi could become Hokage.
- Uchiha Yan coordinated help for Konoha’s forces, but Orochimaru’s attack killed Yan, Hyūga Shinkō, and Hizashi before medics discovered that Yan was still alive.
- The Third Hokage hid Yan’s survival while Konoha’s leaders argued over the Byakugan crisis, and Yan awakened and proposed confronting Kumogakure with an eyeless corpse and a threat of war.
- Uchiha Yan and the Third Hokage staged a public protest at the Kumogakure embassy, then the Third Hokage ordered Raizan out and announced that Konoha would prepare for war.
- Uchiha Yan helped direct Konoha’s response as Danzo led the border operation, and Dodai negotiated terms that included returning the Byakugan, territorial gains, and access to Turtle Island for Naruto’s training.
- Uchiha Yan asked Inabi to help erase memories of their meeting, while Taichi awakened to a golden flower and questioned Hiashi’s treatment of the Hyuga Branch Family.
- Dodai and the Third Hokage signed an alliance that ended the war, and the Third Hokage promoted Uchiha Yan to jonin and approved his plans to teach Neji, Sasuke, and other children.
- Fugaku gathered the Uchiha to discuss ancestor worship and the clan’s political direction, and the clan agreed to wait for Itachi before choosing a candidate for Hokage.
