"Rhodes, I'm here!" A young girl's pleasant voice rang out from far across the sky. By the time the final words fell, it sounded as though she were speaking right beside his ear.
As Rhodes was inwardly startled by the voice, his momentary lapse gave Atezi an opening, and a single blow drove him deep into the earth.
Deep underground, Rhodes's mind was in turmoil. He had used his original Divine Beast body and even unleashed his Innate Divine Ability from time to time to race back at full speed. How had she reached the Infernal Realm so soon after his return? And how had she known where his Hall of the Gods was?
Rhodes failed to react for a moment after being driven deep underground and did not immediately charge back out.
The instant Rhodes was struck underground, a lovely figure appeared before Atezi. She was a girl dressed in a purple robe embroidered with tree branches, vines, and snakelike silver patterns. She had blood-red hair, delicate features, and a figure that did not match her face.
The Netherworld Queen, Hathaway, had descended upon the Infernal Realm!
Bang!
Not wanting to waste words, Hathaway drew out a wooden club and brought it down on Atezi's head, putting an end to his intention of following up with another blow against Rhodes.
The Overgod Token collided with Atezi's Golden Sacred Flame, sending sparks flying everywhere. The wooden club suffered no damage. Unseen by either of them, a gray aura flashed past where the club struck the Golden Sacred Flame.
What everyone else saw was a beautiful girl holding a slender wooden stick, repeatedly battering Atezi, the strongest expert in the Celestial Realm, while his Golden Sacred Flame could do little harm to this purple-robed girl.
