On an isolated island in the Boundless Sea of the Starting Point Plane, Rhodes, Hathaway, and the others stood watching the blurred figure in midair gradually become clear.
Gray hair, gray robes, gray eyes, and an utterly unsmiling face-even heaven and earth seemed deathly still.
Although the Death Overgod remained unsmiling once her figure became clear, everyone present felt their hearts stir. She was simply too beautiful, perfectly beautiful. Even Hathaway fell short of the Death Overgod's perfection in looks, to say nothing of her figure and bearing. Her noble bearing in particular made one unable to resist the urge to toy with her.
The Death Overgod's gaze fell on Rhodes.
"Since the birth of heaven and earth, this has been the first Overgod Mission. Congratulations, Rhodes. You have completed it." The Death Overgod's voice was cool and clear. Not only could Rhodes hear it with his ears, but it echoed in his mind as well. "According to the mission's provisions, you may now make one request of me. As long as it is something I can do, I will fulfill it for you."
Her voice kept echoing in Rhodes's mind, leaving him somewhat dazed.
"What is your request?" the Death Overgod asked again.
"My request?" Rhodes snapped out of his daze.
At the same time, Hathaway, Pash, Lei Ding, and the others came to their senses as well. They exchanged glances, the meaning in their eyes plain enough. The Death Overgod had left them all dazed with a single, simple sentence. It was truly terrifying.
"Great Death Overgod, my request is for all seven people here to become Overgods!" Standing on the island, Rhodes looked up at the Death Overgod in midair.
If they could become Overgods, why bother becoming Sovereigns? Besides, if they became Overgods directly, wouldn't they
