Across the boundless sky, dark clouds blanketed the earth. From time to time, serpents of lightning flashed within them, like flood dragons tumbling through the clouds.
On the barren plains, skeletons missing arms and legs, filthy zombies, and translucent ghosts were everywhere. Rhodes and Pash had yet to encounter a skeleton with intelligence, however, and these skeletons were so weak that a single breath from either of them seemed enough to scatter their bones.
Weak though they were, they fought constantly. A beast-shaped skeleton could be seen devouring a humanoid skeleton, after which the soul fire within its white skull seemed to burn a little brighter, and the bones throughout its body seemed to grow stronger.
After finishing its meal, the little skeletal beast continued north. Most of the undead creatures were heading north, as though something there were drawing them.
As the two traveled farther north, more and more undead creatures appeared. So far, they had yet to encounter a Saint-level undead creature.
In fact, most of the undead creatures they encountered acted on instinct alone. Their strength was too low for either man to have any intention of stopping, and with their incomplete intelligence, talking to them would yield no useful information.
The two were not flying particularly high. There were not many undead creatures in the sky, and neither man concealed his aura. Naturally, these instinct-driven undead all pretended not to see them. If I can't afford to offend you, can't I at least run away?
Their flight north was uneventful. As for the Metal Lifeform seized from the Demon King, Rhodes had not brought it with him, leaving it in the Hall of the Gods instead. After all, his departure with Pash could be considered a secret; they would conceal it for as long as they
