Typhon suddenly suffered a devastating blow, and all one hundred heads roared at once, unleashing an indescribable cacophony.
The sound was like countless people whispering in their ears, leaving them dizzy and disoriented. Almost all the weaker Golden Humans clutched their heads and screamed under its assault.
Seizing this opportunity, Zeus, in the form of a Thunder Giant, swiftly leaped across the land and landed before Typhon.
Wielding thunder that could destroy heaven and earth, he swung his fists.
Typhon hastily raised his hundred arms to block.
Just then, Jiang Yang arrived as well. He entered the Forbidden Domain, his eyes like burning miniature suns, a world of raging flames behind him lighting up half the sky.
Jiang Yang swiftly circled Typhon through the air. Streaks of incandescent white Sword Qi, each a hundred meters long, swept past like bolts of silk, cutting countless wounds into Typhon.
Scalding, foul-smelling blood poured down onto the earth.
Behind him, the Egyptian Sun God Ra led nearly a thousand Divine Clan warriors from the two Divine Courts in a fierce battle against countless sea beasts.
Their battle cries shook heaven and earth, while Sphinx also ranged along the vast coastline, slaying innumerable Oceanic Mutant Beasts.
The Thunder Giant Zeus had become was slightly smaller than Typhon. He activated his Berserk Form and fought with all his strength to hold Typhon back.
Typhon's hundred heads each possessed different abilities. Some could raise floods, some could spit venom, and some could unleash blazing fires.
Coupled with his astonishing strength, they left many wounds on the Thunder Giant, sending blood spraying from him as well.
The blood of Zeus and Typhon had all but turned the ground into a sea of blood.
The fierce thunder Zeus controlled also left countless wounds on Typhon.
But Typhon's body regenerated rapidly, and some wounds soon healed.
From time to time, Jiang Yang landed on the Thunder Titan's shoulder, waiting for the right moment to cut off Typhon's heads.
Each time a head was severed, Typhon screamed, but before long, he grew another.
"This guy's regeneration is way too strong."
Jiang Yang cut off another head and turned to complain to the Thunder Giant.
"It's fine. Keep cutting. Jiang Yang, look, his regrowth has clearly slowed."
Zeus spoke in a deep, gravelly voice through his Thunder Giant form.
Jiang Yang looked closely. Sure enough, terrifying as this regeneration was, it was not inexhaustible.
He soon threw himself back into the fight, fully focused.
As time passed, Typhon increasingly fell onto the back foot.
Just as Jiang Yang cut off another of his arms, he suddenly crouched, pushed off with his hands and feet, and shot away in an instant, fleeing toward the ocean.
"No! He's running again!"
Zeus shouted in alarm.
But Typhon took a strike of Sword Qi and a bolt of thunder head-on, then plunged into the sea.
Seeing Typhon escape, Jiang Yang did not hesitate. He flew down and plunged straight into the sea in pursuit.
"I'll go into the sea and slay him!"
Zeus could not stop him in time. The words had barely left his mouth when he saw Jiang Yang head into the sea without hesitation, sword in hand.
"Don't chase him! Once we're underwater, we can't use even a tenth of our strength... we simply..."
This fellow really does have that invincible spirit of marching onward even against ten million foes. That Forbidden Domain... I think I finally understand why Jiang Yang alone possesses it.
Jiang Yang followed Typhon into the sea. Following the trail of his dispersing blood, he saw him heading straight into the depths.
He moved faster than the enormous Typhon, and soon saw that Typhon had reached the seabed.
Typhon turned to attack him. Boundless dark power erupted from the deep sea, surging toward Jiang Yang to envelop him.
Jiang Yang's gaze sharpened. Sure enough, Typhon's strength increased enormously in the ocean.
Meanwhile, compared with Typhon, he could bring less than a tenth of his own strength to bear.
So, to end the battle quickly.
After a moment's thought, he took Gungnir out of his Flame Domain.
Scalding energy surged from Gungnir. Jiang Yang reinforced it with his will, unleashed his greatest strength, evaded Typhon's attack, and drove the spear into his body, detonating the Divine Spear!
With a thunderous boom, Jiang Yang was hurled a thousand meters away and driven into the sediment on the seabed.
Typhon was finally destroyed, and the shock wave from the explosion even created an enormous whirlpool on the surface.
Only after a long while did Jiang Yang slowly regain consciousness on the seabed.
He shook his head and swam to the site of the explosion, which was now a massive crater in the ocean floor.
Visibility was extremely poor, with countless clouds of sediment obscuring his sight. Only after searching carefully for a long time did he find Gungnir embedded at an angle at the bottom of the crater.
After this use, the energy within Gungnir was essentially exhausted. To recharge it, he would have to visit the Norse Refuge.
Still, he had no idea where the Old Humans of today could obtain the immense amount of energy required to recharge it.
Jiang Yang sighed and prepared to pick up Gungnir and fly toward the surface.
Suddenly, his gaze sharpened, and a shudder of terror swept through his body like an electric current.
He slowly gripped Gungnir and pulled it out. But it did not feel as though he were pulling it from earth and stone. Instead, it felt as though he were pulling it from flesh, bringing out thin traces of pitch-black blood.
Beneath Gungnir, as the sediment slowly settled, a horrifying sight appeared before Jiang Yang.
Endless pitch-black Apocalypse Monsters, hideous and terrifying in appearance and of countless different kinds, were packed tightly together, row upon row, layer upon layer.
Jiang Yang blasted downward with Sword Qi, only to find that the depths of the seabed consisted entirely of these endless monsters, as though they had been used as building materials for the ocean floor.
The sight truly made his scalp crawl.
They were all silent, sunk in slumber. Even that tremendous explosion had failed to wake them, as though they were waiting for their next command to emerge once more and destroy all living beings.
Could it be that beneath the ocean, everything was made up of monsters like these?
If so, the monsters that had caused the world-ending catastrophe back then were merely a tiny fraction of all the monsters on the seabed.
"The catastrophe never ended. They've only been lying dormant."
