Family and Upbringing

Qian Renxue is the daughter of Qian Xunji and Bibi Dong, and the granddaughter of Qian Daoliu. She was born after Qian Xunji sexually assaulted Bibi Dong to prevent her from leaving Spirit Hall. Qian Daoliu concealed these circumstances from her until after she completed her Fourth Angel Trial 58.

Raised under Qian Daoliu’s protection, she trained in swordsmanship from childhood and was doted on by all seven members of the Worship Hall. Bibi Dong, however, repeatedly rejected and verbally abused her. Unaware of her parents’ history, Qian Renxue believed that greater effort and achievement might earn her mother’s affection 8 10 11 58.

Meeting Lu Xuan

After reaching level 40, Qian Renxue visited Bibi Dong to share her achievement and ask her to accompany her on a Soul Ring hunt. Bibi Dong drove her away, and Lu Xuan subsequently found her crying in a secluded garden 8 9.

Lu Xuan suggested that her mother’s rejection might stem from a painful past rather than any fault in Qian Renxue herself. His explanation comforted her, but their conversation ended in embarrassment when she discovered that he was Qian Daoliu’s new disciple—and therefore her martial uncle despite being younger 9.

The two became neighbors in the Worship Hall and regular sparring partners. Qian Renxue initially defeated him in three moves, then continued to outmatch him during two and a half months of almost daily sword practice 10 11 12.

Rejecting the Nation-Stealing Plan

Qian Renxue considered infiltrating the Heaven Dou Empire to prove her worth to Bibi Dong. Lu Xuan urged her to pursue cultivation and the Angel Godhood instead, arguing that an undercover mission would waste her talent 12.

She joined the expedition to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where Yue Guan selected the Cockscomb Phoenix Sunflower for her. Absorbing it evolved her Martial Soul into the Eight-Winged Seraph and granted her Ultimate Fire 12 14 15.

Despite this improvement, Lu Xuan defeated her in an all-out spar after obtaining his fourth Soul Ring. Alarmed by his rapid growth, she abandoned the Heaven Dou infiltration plan entirely and resolved to remain in Spirit Hall to cultivate 18.

Divine Trials and Growing Affection

After becoming a level-52 Soul King, Qian Renxue sought a rematch with Lu Xuan. Instead, she helped test his defensive necklace and accepted it as a gift. She later requested the Angel Nine Trials rather than allow his divine cultivation to leave her behind 19 27.

During a later reunion, Lu Xuan introduced her to Soul Tool engraving. Learning that his work depended on metals and skilled forging, she privately resolved to bring Gengxin City under her control as a return gift. This remained an intention rather than a completed conquest in the documented events 35.

Family Revelation and Papal Succession

After Qian Renxue completed her Fourth Angel Trial, Lu Xuan asked Qian Daoliu to reveal the truth about her parents. She learned both the circumstances of her birth and that Bibi Dong had killed and devoured the gravely wounded Qian Xunji. Although devastated, she stopped blaming herself for her mother’s hatred 58.

When Lu Xuan asked whether she would hate him for killing Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue said she would not, declaring that she regarded only her grandfather and Lu Xuan as family. Lu Xuan then executed Bibi Dong under his authority as Arbitration Elder 59.

Lu Xuan nominated Qian Renxue as the next Pope. She initially hesitated because she had only recently become a Soul Douluo and doubted her ability to command stronger bishops and elders. She accepted after Qian Daoliu guaranteed the Worship Hall’s support and assigned Golden Crocodile to manage daily affairs during her absences. Her divine trials remained her foremost responsibility 60.

Spirit Hall publicly announced that Bibi Dong had stepped down and Qian Renxue had succeeded her, concealing the execution. The abrupt succession alarmed the empires and major sects, prompting an influx of spies into Spirit City 60.

Qian Renxue has long golden hair, violet eyes resembling Bibi Dong’s, and fair skin 8 9 10 12.

Personality

Qian Renxue is proud, competitive, and quick to turn embarrassment into a challenge. She teases Lu Xuan while holding the advantage in swordsmanship, but his eventual victory drives her into sustained cultivation rather than resignation. The same refusal to fall behind leads her to request divine trials despite Qian Daoliu’s warning that he cannot guarantee her survival 11 18 19 27.

Her confidence initially conceals a deep need for maternal approval. She pursues achievements hoping to impress Bibi Dong, yet hides her mother’s mistreatment from the Worship Hall to avoid distressing her grandfather or provoking internal conflict 9 10 12.

She often disguises affection behind haughty remarks. Although she criticizes the appearance of Lu Xuan’s necklace, she treasures it, wears it immediately, and later plans an ambitious return gift. Her excitement at embracing him after her Fourth Trial makes her attachment especially clear 19 35 58.
