Background / History

Lu Feng was a transmigrator who awakened in the Douluo Continent with the ability to perceive colored fragments. By collecting ten fragments of a type, he could synthesize items, skills, attributes, cultivation methods, and Martial Souls; unwanted fragments could be decomposed into light points for upgrades. He began gathering fragments in and around Holy Soul Village, where he accumulated enough resources to develop a Yellow-grade Hunting skill and substantial savings in Golden Soul Coins. 1 5

Although his Spirit Certificate listed his Martial Soul as “Body,” Lu Feng initially possessed no natural Martial Soul. Instead, he could synthesize and equip Martial Souls from collected fragments. His awakening encounter yielded fragments of Lone Wolf, Blue Silver Grass, and Clear Sky Hammer, establishing the foundation for his later multi-Martial-Soul path. 3

At Holy Soul Village and Nuoding Academy, Lu Feng cultivated alongside Tang San and Xiao Wu. He repeatedly observed Tang San’s training and sparred with him to obtain fragments of the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Purple Demon Eye, Ghost Shadow Trace, Control Crane Seize Dragon, Mysterious Jade Hand, and hidden-weapon techniques. He treated Tang San as a sworn brother in public, but frequently approached the relationship with fragment collection in mind. 1 8 12 24

Lu Feng entered the Soul Hunting Forest after reaching Level 10, obtained his first Soul Ring, and later left Nuoding Academy early rather than attend an intermediate academy. He trained independently, travelled through Spirit Beast territories, fought Soul Masters and beasts, changed disguises periodically, and developed practical knowledge of poisons, spirit beasts, combat, and survival. 12 23 33

His pursuit of fragments brought him into contact with Dugu Bo’s Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, the Great Soul Fighting Arena, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Spirit Hall, and the Star Luo imperial succession. He ultimately replaced Dai Mubai through disguise, became Star Luo Emperor, and established the Martial Pavilion to gather cultivation methods and Martial Soul resources on an imperial scale. 46 51 127 170 173

Appearance

Lu Feng’s appearance changes sharply with age, cultivation, and disguises. Even as a child, he was unusually tall and physically developed; after absorbing powerful Soul Rings and undergoing Ice and Fire tempering, he acquired a broad-shouldered, muscular build and an increasingly imposing presence. 23 33 66

  • Black hair, worn tied up when younger and later falling naturally down his back. 23 66
  • Reached approximately 1.65 meters at nine years old and nearly 1.8 meters after absorbing the White Tiger Soul Ring. 33 66
  • Possesses an affinity-enhancing aura after gaining the Light attribute, causing others to trust or feel drawn toward him. 66
  • Cannon Five’s Martial Soul Avatar transforms him into a scaled dragon-man with horns, claws, wings, and a golden aura. 66
  • His seventh Soul Skill manifests as gold-and-black armor, accompanied by the phantoms of four divine beasts. 188

Personality

Lu Feng is calculating, opportunistic, and intensely pragmatic. He evaluates people, locations, battles, and alliances through their value as sources of fragments or cultivation resources. He deliberately seeks combat because fragment drops improve during battles, avoids repeatedly drawing from the same target during a cooldown period, and is willing to use aliases, false affiliations, and political schemes to protect his secret. 8 27 93 138

Despite this self-interest, he is capable of loyalty and protection. He intervenes for Xiao Wu, rescues Doudou, protects Zhu Zhuqing, shelters the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and treats Cannon Five as a partner rather than a subordinate. 10 60 67 85 194

Lu Feng is also openly ambitious about strength while largely indifferent to conventional rulership. His stated long-term goal is to become a God at Level 100, and he later admits that he has no interest in the throne itself; he delegates imperial duties to Zhu Zhuqing so that he can continue collecting fragments and cultivating. 112 163

His methods can be ruthless. He kills the Black Thin Mercenary Group with brutal efficiency, manipulates Tang Hao with a pill whose side effect is fatal vitality depletion, and uses political upheaval to seize the Star Luo throne. 85 167 170

Abilities & Skills

Fragment Collection and Synthesis

Lu Feng can see fragments dropped by people, Martial Souls, skills, items, attributes, cultivation methods, and Spirit Beasts. Ten matching fragments can be synthesized into a complete result.

  • Fragments are graded White, Yellow, Purple, and Black; later acquisitions also include Red and Golden-grade items. 1 127 181
  • Unwanted fragments can be decomposed into light points and used to upgrade fragments of the same type. 1
  • Famous locations and contact with major characters increase the likelihood and quality of fragment drops. 1
  • Fragment drops increase during combat, particularly against stronger Soul Masters and Spirit Beasts. 7 27
  • Repeated collection from the same person is restricted by an apparent cooldown period. 8
  • He keeps this ability secret even from close allies, regarding it as his greatest trump card. 93

Multi-Martial-Soul System

By synthesizing fragments, Lu Feng can equip Martial Souls despite having been born without one.

  • He develops multiple Martial Souls rather than relying on a single inherited lineage. 3 13
  • His documented Martial Souls include Clear Sky Hammer, Knuckle Dusters, Black Tortoise Turtle, Grass Snake, White Tiger, Evil Fire Phoenix, Green Wood Flood Dragon, and Cannon Five. 59 60 127
  • He uses Knuckle Dusters as his primary public Martial Soul to conceal his broader capabilities. 60
  • His cultivation approach assigns the first five Soul Rings according to the Five Elements theory. 13
  • The Martial Soul Imprint Technique allows Martial Souls to cultivate their own bloodlines and consciousness. 66

Cannon Five / Golden Sacred Dragon

Cannon Five is Lu Feng’s most powerful Martial Soul and an independent, dog-like Spirit Beast partner.

  • Following Ice and Fire Body Tempering, Cannon Five evolves into a Golden Sacred Dragon. 60
  • It possesses self-awareness and does not need to obey Lu Feng’s commands. 60
  • Its Martial Soul Avatar grants Lu Feng Soul Sage-level power, dragon scales, wings, claws, and greatly increased Soul Power. 66
  • Lu Feng later uses Golden Sacred Dragon possession, spiritual pressure, and Lightning Horn against Zhao Wuji. 82

Light and Divine Attributes

Lu Feng collects and develops Black-grade Light and Divine attributes.

  • Light fragments originate from Luo Sanpao’s latent Light attribute and later from other sources. 10 22
  • Divine and Light attributes can neutralize Zhao Wuji’s Gravity Enhancement and Gravity Crush. 82
  • He forms a small defensive domain or energy field from these attributes, capable of neutralizing Chen Chen’s attacks. 116
  • His Light power can create a warm, golden radiance comparable to a Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul aura. 138 145
