Background / History
Rebirth and Holy Soul Village
Tang San is a reborn disciple of the Tang Sect who cultivates the Mysterious Heaven Skill in Holy Soul Village. He trains in secret on a hill outside the village and struggles for three months to pass the technique’s first-level bottleneck. 1 2
He grows up as Tang Hao’s son and learns blacksmithing under him. Tang Hao recognizes Tang San’s exceptional physical talent and teaches him how to generate force through the coordinated use of his calves, core, back, and arms. 4 5
Tang San meets Lu Feng in the village and initially treats him warily after Lu Feng intercepts one of his concealed arrows with a woodcutter’s axe. Their early relationship becomes a mix of sparring, mutual learning, and rivalry. 1 8
Nuoding Academy
Tang San awakens Blue Silver Grass alongside Innate Full Soul Power and enters Nuoding Academy as a work-study student. There, he accepts Yu Xiaogang as his teacher and openly regards him as a “great and wise expert.” 3 7
He spars with Lu Feng in Dormitory Seven, using Mysterious Jade Hand and Ghost Shadow Trace while withholding his Sleeve Arrow because the match is not a life-or-death fight. The contest ends in a draw. 8 9
After obtaining his first Soul Ring, Tang San identifies himself as a Level 17 Control System Battle Soul Master. His Blue Silver Grass can spread through terrain, bind targets, and be used like whips in combat. 19
Yu Xiaogang later advises him to keep distance from Lu Feng, arguing that their differing talents would make Lu Feng live in Tang San’s shadow. Tang San follows the advice despite recognizing Lu Feng’s combat experience and ingenuity. 21
Shrek Academy and the Continental Tournament
By the time he reaches Suo Tuo City, Tang San is twelve years old and has reached Level 29. He reunites with Lu Feng, initially believing that his own cultivation had surpassed his childhood companion’s. 72 74
Tang San joins Shrek Academy, obtains his third Soul Ring from a Ghost Face Spider, and gains Spider Web Restraint. The ability creates a large web of Blue Silver Grass, but he can use it only three times before exhausting his Soul Power. 83
A mercenary ambush leaves Tang San injured and unable to circulate the Mysterious Heaven Skill effectively. Lu Feng’s brutal rescue forces Tang San to question whether he has wasted years studying theory and working as a blacksmith instead of pursuing strength. 84 85
During the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass is repeatedly countered by fire and lightning attributes. He becomes increasingly uncertain about his chosen cultivation path despite his diligence and Innate Full Soul Power. 133 135
Tang Hao later reveals Tang San’s twin Martial Souls, confirms that the Clear Sky Hammer is his second Martial Soul, and explains that his Blue Silver Grass carries his mother’s bloodline and is not inherently weak. Tang Hao gives him a hundred-thousand-year right-arm Soul Bone, instructing him to disguise its age as five thousand years. 136
Tang San publicly reveals the Clear Sky Hammer in his battle with Feng Xiaotian and defeats him, exposing his connection to the Clear Sky Sect and drawing Spirit Hall’s attention. 139
Loss of Tang Hao and the Blue Silver Grass
After Tang Hao fails to return from the Star Luo Empire, Tang San sets out to follow his father’s plan for obtaining a fifth Soul Ring. 169
In the Blue Silver Grass forest, the ancient Blue Silver King suppresses Tang San’s Martial Soul and devours it to advance itself. Tang San’s body dissipates, leaving behind his clothing and Soul Tool belt before he inexplicably appears in Slaughter City. 172
Tang San survives in Slaughter City as the Hammer Asura, relying on the Clear Sky Hammer and hidden weapons after losing Blue Silver Grass. Lu Feng later gives him a thousand-year Soul Bone and arranges for him to fight in the Hell Slaughter Arena as part of an effort to help him escape. 178 179
Return, Sea God Island, and Godhood
After returning to Shrek Academy, Tang San absorbs six ten-thousand-year Soul Rings and reaches Level 62 Soul Power. Yu Xiaogang theorizes that Tang San’s lost Martial Soul may have been the Blue Silver King. 185
Tang San supports Xue Beng’s opposition to Xue Qinghe, fights with six black Soul Rings, and is subsequently defeated by Lu Feng. Lu Feng severs Tang San’s right arm and takes the Soul Bone within it. 197 199
Tang San travels toward Sea God Island with Ma Hongjun to continue his training. He later completes the Sea God’s Seventh Trial, obtains the Sea God Trident and Asura Sword, and returns as a Rank 90 powerhouse seeking a hundred-thousand-year ninth Soul Ring. 201 216
Personality
Tang San is intensely diligent and competitive. He cultivates the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Purple Demon Eye every day, and Lu Feng’s rapid growth repeatedly drives him to question his own path and seek greater strength. 75 87
He is deeply filial toward Tang Hao and craves his father’s recognition. Tang Hao’s approval after their reunion causes Tang San’s accumulated grievances to disappear, while the discovery that Dai Mubai took his mother’s Soul Bone fills him with overwhelming hatred. 136 161
Tang San is protective toward people he considers his own. He defends a bullied man shortly after arriving in Slaughter City, comforts Yu Xiaogang after Shrek’s defeat, and initially treats Xiao Wu as a lost sister. 172 107 217
His pursuit of power can also override his attachments. When Xiao Wu is suspected of concealing hundred-thousand-year Soul Bones, Tang San decides to attack her despite believing she is his sister. 217
