Lex and Constantine sat cross-legged beside the campfire while the elder beside them endlessly told them everything about this land.
"Doom, you're finally here!" Lex heard footsteps behind him, and Constantine turned around as well.
Constantine asked him, "How did it go?"
Kleist sat down beside the fire too. "We can't determine the cause for now." The firelight illuminated his complicated expression, and he began recounting what had happened after the two of them left.
After Constantine and Lex set out, Kleist entered the control room alone. He pressed the power button on the main computer, but as expected, nothing happened. The emergency power supply was not feeding power to the main computer and seemed to have been depleted.
"Clean." Kleist ran his left hand over the Honkai energy reactor, carefully sensing for any remaining Honkai energy within. As expected, the enormous amount of concentrated Honkai energy in the reactor had fully reacted away, leaving nothing behind.
"So we found nothing?" Lex added a piece of wood to the fire, making it burn brighter. The blazing flames nearly illuminated their entire bodies.
"Not entirely. I found this." Kleist took out a white cylinder that gleamed with an unusual white luster beneath the red firelight.
The elder beside them sat stiffly without moving, watching the strange white object in Kleist's hand with reverence and curiosity. Its surface was pure white and incredibly smooth.
"Oh, this is..." Lex looked at it with mild surprise, and Constantine's gaze was drawn to it as well.
"A backup emergency battery. It can draw in and compress Honkai energy from the surrounding environment." Kleist placed it in Lex's hand, and Lex turned it over with interest.
