Personality

Xiao Xiao is polite and initially shy, respectfully seeking Tang Chuan’s advice and earnestly asking to become his disciple. She is also perceptive: she recognizes the resemblance between his martial souls and those attributed to Tang San, then connects his appearance to Shrek Academy’s statue 13 14 15.

Her willingness to learn does not prevent her from questioning a technique’s risks. When Tang Chuan proposes storing flute melodies inside the cauldron, she immediately identifies the possibility of spiritual backlash. She later resolves to continue practicing diligently while he is away 15 17.

She is affectionate toward her companions and eager for her teacher’s approval. She worries about Huo Yuhao’s safety, seeks Tang Chuan’s praise after the freshman assessment, and playfully encourages Wang Dong to become his disciple so that she can be Wang Dong’s senior sister 16 18 26 27.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Becoming Tang Chuan’s Disciple

Huo Yuhao brings Xiao Xiao to Tang Chuan because she is uncertain how to cultivate her twin martial souls. After inspecting them, Tang Chuan criticizes her separation of the cauldron into defense and striking, and the flute into support and control. Xiao Xiao asks to become his disciple, and he accepts 13 14.

His teaching replaces those separate roles with a coordinated system: the cauldron gathers power and stabilizes her soul, while the flute guides spiritual melodies into it for amplification. After seeing his Blue Silver Emperor and Clear Sky Hammer, Xiao Xiao suspects he is Tang San. Tang Chuan confirms the false identity, which she believes and promises to conceal 15 16.

Freshman Assessment

Three months later, Xiao Xiao fights alongside Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong against Dai Huabin, Zhu Lu, and Cui Yajie. Her stored sonic attack defeats Cui Yajie by disrupting her spiritual assault and injuring her Sea of Consciousness 16.

When Dai Huabin and Zhu Lu form the Hell White Tiger, Xiao Xiao initially defends with her cauldron while using its vibrations to build another sonic burst. Her counterattack drives the fusion beast back, helping create the opportunity for Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong’s fusion skill to defeat it 16.

Shrek City Assassination Attempt

After Huo Yuhao returns from the Far North, Xiao Xiao and Wang Dong encounter him in Shrek City. Assassins attack the three, forcing Xiao Xiao to block with her cauldron and release a resonant musical strike despite the overwhelming power difference 22.

Tang Chuan arrives before the exhausted students are overwhelmed, heals them through his Life Domain, and subdues the attackers. Xiao Xiao subsequently combines her mental attack with Huo Yuhao’s to prevent the surviving Soul Emperor from self-destructing. The academy later identifies Dai Huabin as the person who hired the assassins 22 23 26.

Immortal Herbs and the Star Dou Great Forest

Tang Chuan rewards Xiao Xiao with two immortal herbs suited to her cultivation. Their absorption raises her soul power to rank thirty, slightly evolves both martial souls, and strengthens her grasp of the Twin Souls Co-Soul Method 24 26 27.

She then joins the Star Dou Great Forest expedition to seek her third soul ring. During Jiang Nannan’s hunt, Xiao Xiao helps overturn a five-thousand-year Bone Armor Turtle with a combined cauldron-and-flute attack. Later, she follows Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong toward the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. When the Scarlet King appears, she recognizes him as one of the Ten Great Ferocious Beasts and retreats behind Tang Chuan on his orders 30 31 32 33.
