Background / History

Early Life and Political Rise

Qian Chenyue was rejected by those around her and described as an outcast among angels. Qian Gu Fenfeng rescued her from desperate circumstances, becoming the central source of comfort in her previously isolated life 36 37.

After Fenfeng established the Fen Faction through the Spirit Pagoda, Chenyue became one of its leaders alongside Leng Yaozhu and Leng Yulai. They promoted hawkish policies and encouraged resentment toward the nations of the original Douluo Continent 2.

Attack on the Sea God Legion

On August 24, 2057, Chenyue accompanied the Southern Legion’s surprise assault on the Sea God Legion’s naval harbor. Positioned among the operation’s leading experts, she deployed a Fallen Angel domain that caused grotesque mutations among the assembling defenders 8.

Life with Fenfeng and Leng Yaozhu

Fifty years after the wars, Chenyue and Leng Yaozhu welcomed Fenfeng out of seclusion and persuaded him to spend an evening shopping in Mingdu. The three browsed jewelry and merchandise, bought drinks, and rode shared bicycles through the city 16.

Her support did not prevent her from questioning his decisions: she and Leng Yaozhu challenged his cooperation with the Holy Spirit Cult. Fenfeng defended the planned mass deaths as necessary sacrifices for unification 17.

Star Dou Great Forest Operation

Chenyue participated in the encirclement of Xiong Jun and the ensuing confrontation with Gu Yuena and the Ferocious Beasts 29 30.

When Yun Ming arrived to intervene, she blocked his route into the forest. Although his Heavenly Spear initially suppressed her, Causal Balance Transfer forced him to share her injuries and turned their battle into a stalemate. She prioritized delaying him rather than defeating him; he ultimately withdrew without reaching the forest’s core after the high-ranking Soul Beasts were captured 33 34.

Fenfeng’s Recovery and God-Sealing Ceremony

After Fenfeng was gravely wounded by Old Tang, Chenyue and Leng Yaozhu continuously supplied Soul Power to sustain him. Chenyue pleaded with him to awaken, invoking his promise to keep her safe. Their concern helped draw his consciousness back as his shattered divine soul recovered 35 37.

She remained beside him for months during his recovery. Before entering seclusion again, Fenfeng asked both women to prepare a God-Sealing Ceremony for his return; Chenyue later stood beside Leng Yaozhu at the public ceremony 38 41.

Destruction of the Heaven Dou Continent

Before merging with the Plane Core, Fenfeng left instructions in a Fallen Angel feather for the secluded Chenyue. Calling her the most gifted person apart from himself, he predicted that she would ascend first and ordered her to annihilate all life on the Heaven Dou Continent 50.

After attaining godhood, she met Ling Zichen at the Boundary Rift Gate and crossed to Heaven Dou. Her arrival spread a deathly pressure across the continent 51.

Chenyue unleashed her Death Divine Kingdom and Feathers of Death, draining life throughout the land. She repelled the Shrek Seven Devils’ resistance and grievously wounded Tang Wulin when he shielded Xu Xiaoyan from her axe 52.

When the Seven Devils rallied the continent’s Soul Masters, she transformed her weapon into a balance that returned their attacks as equivalent forces of death. Her subsequent Death Tide killed Tang Wulin’s six companions and devastated the continent, though Tang Wulin and other survivors escaped 53 54 55.

Before departing, she cursed the surviving Heaven Dou bloodlines so that their arrival on the Douluo Continent would alert her divine sense 55.

Kailuolun’s Revenge

A century later, the curse alerted Chenyue when Kailuolun landed on the Douluo Continent. She immediately confronted him and erased an attack from his Eye of the Fool with a wave of her hand 56 57.

Kailuolun then expended his remaining resources and lifespan to push beyond his Quasi-God limit. The confrontation ended when Fenfeng awakened and erased Kailuolun’s body and soul; Chenyue did not deliver the final blow 57 58.

Defense Against the Abyss

During the subsequent Abyss invasion, Chenyue guarded the Federation’s largest main rift at Heaven Dou City alone. Her divine domain and death feathers dissolved Abyssal power and disintegrated invading monsters, preventing the main passage from expanding outward 60.

Appearance

Chenyue’s appearance changes substantially upon attaining godhood 3 51.

  • Before ascension: Tall and slender, with pale skin, ink-black hair, slightly raised brows, and deep dark-yellow eyes. At the Qiangu banquet, she wears silver-and-black Federation formal attire and loosely pinned hair 3.
  • Casual clothing: A plain long dress with a black leather belt; her hair hangs loose during the Mingdu shopping trip 16.
  • After ascension: Waist-length snow-silver hair, two crimson hair ornaments, trailing translucent white gauze, and golden eyes containing seven-petaled floral patterns 51.
  • Divine attire: Black and dark burgundy garments, translucent black silk, an asymmetrical feather-like dress, and layered gray-white gauze skirts 51.
  • Wings: Six pitch-black wings appear during the harbor assault, eight gray wings during the Yun Ming battle, and twelve black-and-dark-gold wings after ascension. Her divine wings also bear eerie eyes 8 33 34 51.

Personality

Chenyue is outwardly composed, restrained, and difficult to unsettle. She endures the pain of divine transformation without losing her composure and remains calm under the combined attacks of powerful opponents 51 52.

With Fenfeng, she is affectionate and emotionally vulnerable. She seeks his attention, complains when cultivation and government work keep him away, and occasionally competes with Leng Yaozhu for his affection. His near-death condition breaks her usual composure completely 16 37 44.

In battle, she can be pragmatic rather than victory-driven: against Yun Ming, she accepts mutual injury to prevent him from interfering with the Soul Beast captures 34. As a deity, her treatment of Heaven Dou’s inhabitants is markedly indifferent. She watches their resistance without either pity or visible pleasure—a detachment Kailuolun remembers a century later 53 54 57.

Abilities & Skills

Fallen Angel Martial Soul

Her martial soul produces dark wings, corrosive Soul Power, and a domain capable of suppressing surrounding sacred light 8 33.

  • Flight and aerial combat: Uses her wings to maneuver through spear attacks and launch feather barrages 33 34.
  • Spiritual corrosion: Feathers carry corrosive power that spreads through the surrounding sky 33.
  • Mutating domain: Causes grotesque changes in enemy soldiers during the Sea God Legion assault 8.
  • Self-healing: Rapidly closes a shoulder wound inflicted by Yun Ming 34.
  • Flight limitation: Yun Ming’s Whole-Area Air-Banishing Domain suppresses flying martial souls; she counters by folding her wings and switching to close combat 33.

Fallen Angel Axe

Chenyue condenses fallen Soul Power into a massive double-bladed axe. After ascension, she wields a Death Giant Axe, also described as the Twin-Person Great Axe 33 52 53.

  • Meets Yun Ming’s Heavenly Spear in direct combat 33.
  • Releases deathly cutting light that deprives incoming attacks of vitality and energy, causing them to dissipate 52.
  • Grievously wounds Tang Wulin when he intercepts a strike aimed at Xu Xiaoyan 52.
  • Transforms into her balance rather than functioning solely as a cutting weapon 34 53.

Causal Balance Transfer

The ultimate soul skill of her Fallen Angel martial soul transforms her axe into a black, rune-engraved balance and establishes a causal link with an opponent 34.

  • Equal damage division: Half of the injury and attack pressure she receives transfers to the linked opponent 34.
  • Broad coverage: Transfers physical wounds, internal damage, and pressure from Yun Ming’s spear dao 34.
  • Limit: She still bears half the damage. Her stalemate with Yun Ming leaves both bloodied and consumes more than half of their Soul Power 34.

Divine Law Balance

After ascension, her transformed weapon applies a battlefield-wide law that captures attacks and returns equivalent forces of death 53.

  • Intercepts attacks from Tang Wulin, his companions, and the gathered Soul Masters 53.
  • Converts each captured attack into a corresponding death attack directed back toward the defenders 53.
  • Is later identified as the Law Balance, which she carries after Heaven Dou’s destruction and during her confrontation with Kailuolun 55 57.

Death Divine Kingdom and Law of Death

Her godhood grants destructive authority over life on a continental scale 51 52 54.

  • Death Divine Kingdom: Shrouds Heaven Dou in deathly gray haze and an oppressive divine presence 52.
  • Feathers of Death: Drain life from people, plants, animals, and the continent’s waters 52.
  • Death Tide: Spreads continent-wide devastation and overwhelms the six companions fighting beside Tang Wulin 54.
  • Divine suppression: Stills coastal wind, suspends waves and sand, and forces Kailuolun to struggle against her pressure 57.
  • Anti-Abyss application: Her death feathers dissolve Abyssal energy and wither invading monsters 60.

Hereditary Bloodline Curse

Chenyue brands surviving Heaven Dou natives with a curse embedded in their bloodline origins 55.

  • Persists through successive generations 55.
  • Alerts her when a bearer sets foot on the Douluo Continent 55 57.
  • Provides a sensory anchor that lets her divine will locate the bearer across great distances 57.
  • Activates visibly on Kailuolun as writhing gray markings and an intense, blood-chilling sensation 57.

Relationships

  • Qian Gu Fenfeng — Husband, rescuer, and leader. His protection anchors her personal devotion; she later carries out his order against Heaven Dou 34 37 50 51.
  • Leng Yaozhu — Fellow partner of Fenfeng and close companion. They share domestic outings, care for him together, and sometimes compete for his attention 3 16 37.
  • Yun Ming — Battlefield opponent whose intervention she blocks through a damage-sharing stalemate 33 34.
  • Ling Zichen — Facilitates her passage to Heaven Dou through the Boundary Rift Gate on Fenfeng’s instructions 51.
  • Tang Wulin — Enemy and survivor of her destruction of Heaven Dou. She severely wounds him and kills his six companions 52 54 55.
  • Kailuolun — Heaven Dou survivor who devotes a century to preparing revenge against her 56 57.
