Background / History

Bibi Dong endured decades of hatred and restraint before breaking free of the shackles Qian Xunji had placed upon her and rising to become Pope of Spirit Hall. Qian Xunji ultimately died at her hands. When Lan Changsheng learns this, he acknowledges that she killed his foremost enemy, although their own conflict begins immediately afterward 7 160.

She and Yu Xiaogang were formerly lovers. During her later pursuit of power, she loses her memories of him and no longer recognizes either his name or his intimate way of addressing her 38 40.

Her relationship with the Rakshasa inheritance changes after her first defeat by Lan Changsheng. Previously, she had accepted it passively or resisted it; afterward, she begins forcibly reshaping its destructive power into techniques of her own, despite punishment from the Rakshasa God 37.

Appearance

  • Papal attire: Usually wears magnificent purple-black robes, sometimes described as trailing to the floor. During Spirit Hall’s public defense of the symbiosis method, she appears in purple-and-gold divine robes 111 140.
  • Face and eyes: Described as strikingly beautiful, with phoenix-shaped eyes. Her eyes take on scarlet or purple-gold hues when her Rakshasa power is prominent 7 10 111 141.
  • Death Spider Emperor Avatar: Retains a human upper body while her lower body becomes a gigantic spider with eight thick, venomous legs. Demonic spiderweb markings appear on her forehead 7.
  • Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor Avatar: Three pairs of dark-green Spider Spears extend from her back, her arms become long spears, and her forehead markings emit soul-devouring fluctuations 8.
  • Domain armor: Can cover herself in gray-white armor with dark-red divine power flowing through its pauldrons, breastplate, bracers, and skirt armor 11.
  • Unrestrained Rakshasa state: Dark-red divine markings spread across her face and body; severe backlash leaves her bleeding black demonic blood 145 146.

Personality

Bibi Dong is proud, domineering, and intensely unwilling to accept defeat. She treats forced revelations of her abilities as humiliations and uses verbal provocation alongside physical attacks, including taunting Lan Changsheng over his failure to save Ah Yin. Her pursuit of strength increasingly becomes a pursuit of absolute control over the continent and its new cultivation system 7 8 143.

Her ambition does not prevent tactical compromise. Recognizing that Spirit Hall cannot halt the Soul Spirit Symbiosis Method without losing popular support, she agrees to promote it and forces her own elders to cooperate. She regards participation as a way to preserve Spirit Hall’s influence and learn the system from within—not as an abandonment of her ambitions 113 114 140.

She is not indifferent to every subordinate. She repeatedly risks herself to save Ghost Douluo and pursues Lan Changsheng in fury after failing to keep her promise that he would be safe. That protective response contrasts with her later willingness to corrupt Spirit Hall’s tournament team and order the deaths of their opponents 8 9 155.

Her desire for freedom also brings her into conflict with her divine patron. She endures excruciating punishment to create a skill belonging to herself rather than the Rakshasa God. As her pursuit continues, however, cherished memories disappear; by the time Yu Xiaogang finds her, she judges their forgotten connection largely by whether he can still be useful to her 37 38 40.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Spider Emperor Martial Souls

Bibi Dong combines the venom and physical weapons of the Death Spider Emperor with the soul- and mind-devouring properties of the Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor 7 37.

  • Uses spider silk to obstruct movement, seal retreat routes, and retrieve allies 7.
  • Fights at close range with transformed arms and spider legs acting as multiple Spider Spears 7 8.
  • Produces numbing, corrosive venom and poisonous mist; Rakshasa empowerment allows these attacks to break through grass reinforced with Life Divine Power 7 8.
  • Can recognize Lan Changsheng’s underlying Soul Beast aura despite the concealment provided by his Life Divine Power 7.
Skill Documented effect
Death Spider Web The Death Spider Emperor’s third Soul Skill; releases sweeping purple venomous webs 7.
Blood-Sucking Spider Thorns A sixth Soul Skill that rains down thorns, absorbing Soul Power from struck targets and transferring it to Bibi Dong 8.
Spider Emperor Clone Created through the Death Spider Emperor’s eighth Soul Ring. The clone can activate its own Martial Soul Avatar, but is eventually overwhelmed by Lan Changsheng’s grass figures 7 8.
Life and Death, All a Dream Activated through the Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor’s eighth Soul Ring; forms a barrier that traps Lan Changsheng and his grass figures 8.
Eternal Creation—Space-Rending Abyss Slash The Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor’s sixth Soul Skill; twists space into blades and locks onto its target. Its blades overpower Lan Changsheng’s reinforced spear, although the clash damages them 8 9.
Soul Devouring Myriad Forms The Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor’s fifth Soul Skill; manifests a biting spider head. With Rakshasa empowerment, it injures Lan Changsheng’s Divine Soul and temporarily devours his grass-based teleportation ability 10.

Divine Slaughter’s Domain

A dark-red domain filled with bloody mist and murderous malice. Its initial documented deployment extends across a hundred-zhang radius 10.

  • Competes directly with Lan Changsheng’s Blue Silver Imperial Emperor Domain 10.
  • Can contract into gray-white armor, concentrating its destructive and devouring properties around her body 11 35.
  • The armor withers attacking vines on contact; expanding the domain destroys nearby grass filaments 35.
  • Its power conflicts with Qian Daoliu’s holy Angel Domain. Concentrating it into armor reduces, but does not eliminate, interference from his light 10 11.

Rakshasa Divine Power

Rakshasa power governs slaughter, corrosion, annihilation, and the destruction of vitality. Bibi Dong uses it to enhance her Martial Souls, replenish herself, and attack the foundations of the symbiosis system 8 38 128.

  • Vitality absorption: Drains plants and animals to heal herself and restore Soul Power. Lan Changsheng counters by restoring the creatures she drains; the absorbed auras later tear their way out of her body, leaving her exhausted 38 39.
  • Rakshasa: Meteor: A self-created compressed sphere intended to explode, tear apart its target, and devour it. Lan Changsheng dissolves it with his hand, but suffers a wound that heals unusually slowly 35 36.
  • Rakshasa Ghost Hand and Soul-Devouring Claws: Offensive manifestations used in her desperate arena battle against Lan Changsheng 160.
  • Origin-burning attacks: Can expend her accumulated Rakshasa essence for a storm of demonic blades or a massive Rakshasa Heaven-Slaying Sword. These attacks cause severe bodily damage and backlash when they fail 146 147.

Rakshasa True Form: Silent Shadow Severed Thought

A self-created divine skill developed during seclusion by distorting the Rakshasa God’s destructive power through her own devouring nature 37.

  • Erodes the rules governing perception and distorts the target’s cognition, causing their mind to erase her existence 37.
  • Conceals her from Lan Changsheng’s Divine Sense even when she is physically visible 37.
  • Enables attacks from spatial rifts with the Rakshasa Demon Scythe; one assault seals his teleportation and cuts through his Oath of Protection 36.
  • Does not guarantee a successful strike: the Oath of Protection subsequently intercepts another attack in advance 37.
  • Its creation subjects her to agonizing divine punishment. The technique is explicitly described as having enormous flaws, while her later fighting is accompanied by the loss of personal memories 37 38.

Symbiosis Deconstruction and Evil Seeds

After direct corruption fails, Bibi Dong studies the Soul Spirit Symbiosis Method and identifies differences in the cultivation, lifespans, and foundations of humans and Soul Beasts as an exploitable weakness 128 141.

  • Plants a Deconstruction Seed in the rules governing Symbiotic Contracts 141.
  • Uses Rakshasa Evil Seeds to weaken towers, interfere with contract formation, and dissipate Soul Spirit vitality 143.
  • Seeks to devour the system’s underlying principles, control its life origin, and complete her Rakshasa trial 140 141.
  • Initially benefits from the Asura God and Rakshasa God concealing her interference; she does not initially know why her actions remain undiscovered 141 143.
  • Ultimately loses the scheme when Lan Changsheng purifies the corruption and severs her divine connection 145.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Rakshasa Demon Scythe — Wielded during her perception-erasing ambushes; capable of cutting through Lan Changsheng’s Oath of Protection 36 37.
  • Rakshasa Heaven-Slaying Sword — A manifested demonic weapon hundreds of zhang long, covered in blood-colored curse markings and carrying destructive, plundering, and corrosive power. It collapses when her strength is exhausted 147.
  • Hundred-year Soul Spirit — Purchased from a Spirit Hall deacon for her corruption experiments. Its protective laws repel her Rakshasa power and burn her palm 128.

Relationships

  • Lan Changsheng — Principal adversary and temporary negotiating partner. She covets his Life Divine Power, agrees to promote his symbiosis method, and later attempts to seize its foundations. He repeatedly defeats her and eventually resolves to kill her to prevent future calamities 11 113 143 160.
  • Ghost Douluo — Spirit Hall subordinate whom she desperately tries to protect. His death after her promise of safety causes her to lose her composure 7 8 9.
  • Chrysanthemum Douluo — Spirit Hall Titled Douluo killed by Lan Changsheng as she arrives; his death helps provoke the initial confrontation 7 9.
  • Qian Daoliu — Rival authority within Spirit Hall and reluctant battlefield ally. Their powers interfere with one another, and he later considers allowing her death so Qian Renxue can take over Spirit Hall 10 11 146.
  • Qian Renxue — Someone Bibi Dong both loves and hates. She invokes the danger to Qian Renxue’s divine inheritance to force Qian Daoliu to intervene on her behalf 146.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Former lover whom she completely forgets. She spares him as a possible old acquaintance but rejects further contact and threatens to kill him if he persists 38 40.
  • Qian Xunji — The man whose shackles she escaped and whom she killed before her first appearance 7 160.
  • Rakshasa God — Divine patron whose inheritance she both exploits and resists. He punishes her independent manipulation of his power, later supports her conspiracy, and finally restores her during the arena confrontation—but refuses to heal her after she is impaled 37 145 160 161.
  • Tang San — Surveillance target and a means of drawing out Lan Changsheng. A local Spirit Hall officer later attempts to capture him after interpreting her surveillance order as proof of his importance 48 53 65.
  • Lan Yi — Tower spirit whose exclusive control of the Symbiosis Towers prevents Bibi Dong from obtaining the full permissions she demands 113.
  • Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan — Spirit Hall tournament competitors whom she strengthens with Rakshasa power while implanting evil thoughts and ordering them to kill Shrek’s team 155.

Story Role / Major Arcs

  • Attempts to save Ghost Douluo after Lan Changsheng kills Chrysanthemum Douluo, then joins Qian Daoliu in fighting the intruder 7 8 9.
  • Temporarily removes Lan Changsheng’s teleportation and pressures him with her domain before his Oath of Protection with Ah Yin restores his abilities 10 11 12.
  • After his escape, orders damaged homes repaired and compensation paid, followed by the eradication of every blade of Blue Silver Grass on the continent 12.
  • The policy also places Blue Silver Grass Soul Masters under Spirit Hall’s management. She enters seclusion after the battle 21.

Renewed Pursuit and Temporary Truce

  • Sends scouts into Sunset Forest in search of rare resources to increase her strength; Dugu Bo defeats the investigating squad 31.
  • Battles Lan Changsheng with her newly developed Rakshasa techniques. The fight ends with her severely injured and depleted after the vitality she devoured escapes her body 35 36 37 38 39.
  • Rejects Yu Xiaogang when he finds her recovering, having forgotten their shared past 40.
  • Approves compensation to Lan Changsheng, including a forty-thousand-year Head Soul Bone, five Immortal Herbs, and supplies. She also orders the release of imprisoned Blue Silver Grass Soul Masters, deciding that open hostility is temporarily impractical 53.
  • Her continuing surveillance of Tang San contributes to a local Spirit Hall scheme to capture him despite the truce 65.

Cooperation and the Symbiosis Conspiracy

  • Recognizes that the Soul Spirit Symbiosis Method threatens Spirit Hall’s dominance but cannot realistically be stopped. She agrees to promote it without gaining control over the towers 112 113.
  • Orders detailed promotion regulations drafted within three days and demands full cooperation from Spirit Hall’s branches 114.
  • Secretly experiments on a Soul Spirit, then publicly suppresses opposition to the method so its wider operation will help her understand and dismantle it 128 129 140.
  • Her divine trial and connection to the Rakshasa God falter when Lan Changsheng destroys Slaughter City and purges the god’s hidden influence from Tang Chen 137.
  • Finds a flaw in the symbiosis rules and spreads corruption under the concealment of two gods, threatening contracts and towers across the continent 141 143.

Defeat and Loss of Divine Power

  • Escalates her corruption when Lan Changsheng begins purging the evil seeds. Her uncontrolled power damages Spirit City and injures residents 144 145.
  • Loses her divine connection when Lan Changsheng shatters the Rakshasa God’s phantom and severs the chain linking her to the Divine Realm 145.
  • Burns her own origin in a final offensive, then forces Qian Daoliu to help by threatening the future of Qian Renxue’s inheritance 146.
  • Both are defeated. Lan Changsheng strips their divine power but spares their lives, then directs Spirit Hall to protect local people, avoid imperial conflicts, and follow the Soul Spirit Symbiosis Great Path 147 148.

Tournament Confrontation

  • Later uses Rakshasa power again to corrupt Spirit Hall’s tournament team, ordering Shrek’s competitors killed and naming Chi Wang as the first target. These events do not explain how she regained access to that power after her earlier stripping 148 155.
  • Lan Changsheng intervenes and overwhelms her, but the Rakshasa God descends, heals her, and joins her attack 159 160.
  • After Lan Changsheng draws on the continent’s living beings and the Silver Dragon King, her renewed charge ends with his spear piercing her chest. Refused healing by the Rakshasa God, she withdraws her power and falls into the ruined arena 161.
